* מכירת שדה לגוי חמורה ממכירת בתים לגוי, כי בנוסף לאיסור חנייה בקרקע ("לא תחנם") שיש גם בבתים, הרי שבשדה הוא גם מפקיע אותה ממעשר.
* הגמרא מבארת את טעמי ת"ק ורבי יוסי שנחלקו במשנה לגבי דין מכירת והשכרת בתים ושדות לגוי בארץ בסוריא ובחו"ל.
* שמואל פסק כרבי יוסי (שאמר: "בארץ ישראל משכירין להם בתים אבל לא שדות, ובסוריא מוכרין בתים ומשכירין שדות, ובחוץ לארץ מוכרין אלו ואלו"), ורב יוסף הוסיף שההיתר הוא רק בתנאי "שלא יעשנה שכונה" (=שלושה בני אדם).

* רבן שמעון בן גמליאל אומר: לא ישכיר אדם מרחצו לעובד כוכבים מפני שנקרא על שמו ועובד כוכבים זה עושה בו מלאכה בשבתות ובימים טובים (אבל לכותי מותר להשכיר), אך מותר להשכיר את שדהו לעובד כוכבים (כי "אריסא אריסותיה קעביד").

* שלושה דינים נלמדים מהפסוק "לֹא תְחָנֵּם": לא תתן להם חנייה בקרקע, לא תתן להם חן, לא תתן להם מתנת חנם.
* רבי מאיר ורבי יהודה נחלקו אם מותר לתת לגוי מתנת חנם.
* אסור לאדם שיאמר: כמה נאה עובדת כוכבים זו.
* רבי עקיבא ראה את אשת טורנוסרופוס הרשע ואמר שהיא עתידה להתגייר ולהינשא לו.
* הרואה בריות טובות אומר: ברוך שככה ברא בעולמו.
* "ונשמרת מכל דבר רע" - שלא יסתכל אדם באשה נאה ואפילו פנויה, באשת איש ואפילו מכוערת.

* אסור להסתכל בבגדים צבעוניים (לא חדשים) של אשה שמכיר, ואפילו שטוחין על גבי כותל.
* הרוצה שלא יסריח מתו יהפכנו על פניו.
* "וְנִשְׁמַרְתָּ מִכֹּל דָּבָר רָע" - שלא יהרהר אדם ביום ויבוא לידי טומאה בלילה, מכאן אמר רבי פנחס בן יאיר: תורה מביאה לידי זהירות זהירות מביאה לידי זריזות זריזות מביאה לידי נקיות וכו' וחסידות גדולה מכולן (ולדעת ריב"ל: ענוה גדולה מכולן).
* כשם שנחלקו במשנה (בדף הקודם) לגבי המחובר לקרקע, כך נחלקו בברייתא אם מותר למכור לגוי בהמה על מנת לשחוט או שאין מוכרים לו אלא שחוטה.
