The US delivered the first F-16V fighter to Taiwan .

On March 28, U.S. Congressman William Timmons announced the delivery of the first F-16V jets to Taiwan. That same day, Taiwan's Deputy Defense Minister Po Horn-hui attended an official handover ceremony for the fighter jets at a Lockheed Martin plant.

The F-16C/D Block 70, also known as the F-16V, is the first of 66 aircraft acquired under a multibillion-dollar arms package approved in 2019 under the Trump administration.

All 66 aircraft are expected to be delivered by the end of 2026, according to Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense.
