The US Department of Homeland Security has expanded the powers of law enforcement agencies, having allowed them to deport illegal migrants following the so-called “expedited removal” process, that is, without a court decision.

“The effect of this change will be to enhance national security and public safety — while reducing government costs — by facilitating prompt immigration determinations,” the agency said in a notice published the day after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump.

US President Donald Trump has handed his special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg the job of ending the Ukraine conflict in 100 days, the Wall Street Journal reports.

According to the newspaper, “dealmaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be far more difficult than Trump promised on the campaign trail, when he said he would end the conflict before he took office.”

If Donald Trump really wants to avoid World War 3 and de-escalate tensions with Russia, beyond ending the NATO proxy war on Russia through Ukraine, Trump must understand that the basis for the state of crisis in US-Russia relations is the US’ disrespect for Russia’s core security interests.

So long as Russia remains ringed by NATO, after a long history of facing invasion after invasion from the West, US-Russia relations will remain in a state of perpetual crisis.
