🇷🇺🇺🇸 There have been no contacts as of today between Moscow and the future administration of US President-elect Donald Trump on the organization of his possible meeting with President Vladimir Putin, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said.

The Kremlin is certain that signals from the Trump-led administration will come sooner or later and will be ready to perceive them, Ushakov told VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.

Trump will be trapped under a pile of domestic and international problems when he takes office, and his priorities are yet unknown, he said, adding, “We are being calm waiting for the Trump’s team to assume their seats and for [US President-elect Donald] Trump to take his chair in the Oval Cabinet. We will then see what happens next.”

The number of foreign tourists visiting Russia in January-November 2024 increased by 40% year-on-year to 4 mln people, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said.

The Center for International Tourism Development conducted a survey among foreign tourists from friendly countries. According to the survey, 94% of respondents from Iran, 91% from the United Arab Emirates, 89% from India, 88% from Saudi Arabia, 78% from China and Oman consider Russia a promising tourist destination.

In addition to Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kazan, the most popular destinations for foreigners are Kaliningrad, the resorts of the Krasnodar region, cities of the North Caucasus, the “Golden Ring” cities, as well as Siberia and the Far East.

US President-elect Donald Trump’s team is preparing a package of sanctions it believes will help facilitate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine in the coming months, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

Among the options under consideration is a partial easing of sanctions against Russia’s enterprises, described as “some good-faith measures to benefit sanctioned Russian oil producers that could help seal a peace deal.” Another approach suggests strengthening sanctions pressure to “increase leverage” over Moscow.

The Trump team’s plans are still in their early stages and ultimately depend on the president-elect himself, agency sources said. Strategy discussions involve some cabinet nominees as well as former sanctions experts from the first Trump administration.

Russia will wait for the administration of US President-elect Donald Trump to officially take office and outline its proposals, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

“As Trump himself said during one of his interviews, he will actively work to ‘end this bloody mess’ as he put it, but he needs to formally take office first. So, he will be inaugurated in five days. Then we’ll examine proposals that will be on the table,” he said, commenting on Wednesday’s remarks made by Trump’s nominee to the post of the US Secretary of State during congressional hearings.
