Yes, that happens with some of their devices, I don't think it is an issue with Redmi Note 9 Pro or Poco X3 NFC, at least I have never experienced with those. One thing that you need if you are wanting to flash Xiaomi/Poco devices is a PC running Windows though, as in order to unlock the bootloader as well as flash the needed Xiaomi firmware, then it is best to use Xiaomi's software for these tasks, which is Windows only.

this looks like the Indian model, which I believe should work fine (but not 100% sure). The Global model has a 108megapixel main camera on it. Also - if you can find a model with 6gb RAM then it will work better for you too. The one thing to make sure to avoid is the "Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G" - if it says "5G" then it is a different later model that doesn't work with UT.

Are both equally good in terms of usability as a daily driver? I don’t think VoLTE is going to be a problem for me, so just wanted to make sure the overall experience is solid.

Also, I think there might be one more issue with Xiaomi devices ,I read that they have anti-rollback protection. If I need to downgrade to Android 10 in order to flash Ubuntu Touch, how do I get around that, assuming the device comes with a higher Android version installed?

Redmi Note 9 Pro works very well with UT on it. Some of the specs on the Poco X3 NFC are a little better, but I haven't tested it yet.

Yeah, for most carriers VoLTE is definitely a requirement nowadays. But in my case, there’s a PSU in my country that hasn’t integrated VoLTE into its system yet, and I have a SIM from them so I think I should be fine without it for now.
