What is a Crypto Wallet?

Crypto wallets come in different forms, ranging from software options like Tonkeeper to hardware choices such as Ledger and even paper wallets dispensed by crypto ATMs.

Each type presents varying levels of security and convenience.
When someone transfers cryptocurrency, it gets sent to an address linked to the recipient's crypto wallet. This wallet comprises two elements: A public key and a private key. The public key operates like an account number. This can be shared with others for receiving funds. The private key functions as a PIN or password that must be kept confidential since it grants access to the funds.

User-friendly software wallets like Tonkeeper’s mobile or desktop apps are ideal for beginners. They simplify tasks, like checking balances, sending cryptocurrency and tracking transaction history. On the other hand, hardware wallets are physical devices designed for heightened security by storing private keys offline, reducing vulnerability to cyber threats.
Setting up a wallet is uncomplicated. Once a wallet like Tonkeeper is installed, users can easily view any cryptocurrency received from friends.

What are the Secret Key and Recovery Phrase?

Many users on Telegram are currently diving into the world of managing cryptocurrencies like USDT, Notcoin and TON. One common term they come across is the "key". What exactly does a secret key entail and why is it so crucial?
A secret key, also referred to as a private key, plays a vital role in ensuring the security of cryptocurrencies. It is as a randomly generated sequence of characters serving as a password for accessing and handling digital assets.

Whenever someone sends cryptocurrency, it gets transferred to an address associated with a wallet that is safeguarded by this secret key.

Imagine the key as a means to unlock a safe. Similar to how one wouldn't disclose a safe combination to others, users should never reveal their private key. It serves as a method to demonstrate ownership of cryptocurrency and authorize transactions. If someone gains access to a key, they can utilize it to access and spend funds.
Additionally, within a wallet exists a public key; it operates like a bank account number.

Users can share this key with others to receive cryptocurrency payments. However, maintaining confidentiality of the private key is imperative for safeguarding crypto assets.
Upon creating a wallet, users will have their secret key automatically generated for them.
Make sure to keep private key information safe. You can write down or securely store the 24-word Recovery phrase generated by Tonkeeper. This phrase can be used to recreate your private key in case you lose the information on your phone or laptop. Another way is to use a hardware wallet to keep your private key safe offline.

If a user loses the key, they lose access to funds. The secret key plays a crucial role in cryptocurrency security so it's important to handle it carefully and understand its significance in managing digital assets within the cryptocurrency realm confidently!

What is Blockchain?

📢 Notcoin, Hamster and Tapswap in Tonkeeper

Friends, there are many new people in our community and questions related to how to connect and withdraw coins from Notcoin, Hamster and Tapswap have increased. Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions. For questions about Battery or Gasless please read the first FAQ and second FAQ.

How do I connect my Hamster to the Tonkeeper wallet?

1. Go to the Hamster bot and select “Connect Your TON Wallet” option
2. Select Tonkeeper from among the available wallets
3. Click on the option to connect the wallet
4. The word "Done" and a green tick, means it’s connected
5. Wait until the option to return is specified in the wallet
6. Now the wallet is successfully connected and you can see the wallet address

I have already connected to the bot but lost my wallet. What should I do?

It is essential to store wallet 24-word recovery phrase securely. Never share a seed phrase with anyone. As a non-custody wallet on the TON network, Tonkeeper cannot recover access to wallets without the seed phrase. These words are the key to restoring a wallet.

⚠️ Do not share the 24-word recovery phrase, only scammers will ask for it
⚠️ The Tonkeeper team will never DM you first or ask for funds
⚠️ Be careful of external links or files that are shared - don’t click or download anything.

How do I access my 24-word recovery phrase in Tonkeeper?

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on the option “Back Up”.
3. With access to the seed phrase, store it in a safe place

If a wallet is accidentally deleted or lost, this 24-word recovery phrase can restore the wallet anywhere, anytime.

Can I have several bots like Notcoin, Hamster, and TapSwap connected to the wallet?

Tonkeeper doesn't have a limit on the number of connections. You can link as many as needed.

I connected to Tonkeeper, but the amount of TapSwap, Hamster etc. coins are not displayed in the wallet.

Currently, these coins aren't listed or they haven't been converted into currency. You can find your connected bots in the Tonkeeper Browser.
It is important that the bot itself has Tonkeeper wallet as a connection.

Why is there a delay in withdrawal to or from Telegram Wallet?

Transfers to the Telegram Wallet may take a long time — at times up to 48 hours.

Why hasn’t my Notcoin been transferred from the Notcoin Bot to Tonkeeper?

It may take a long time for Notcoin to transfer in Tonkeeper. The token withdrawal wait time has increased to up to 48 hours. This is an approximate wait time. It might slightly vary, going either way. Please check this Notcoin post about the withdrawal issues.

How long do withdraws from an exchange, bot or service to Tonkeeper take?

Withdrawals can take some time. Usually, it takes up to 48 hours. Yes, waiting can be frustrating and patience is appreciated as the network experiences unprecendented growth. If a transfer takes longer than 48 hours, please contact support.

How do I withdraw NOT to Tonkeeper?

To withdraw NOT from the bot, follow these steps:

1. Go to @notcoin_bot
2. Select the "Non-custodial wallet" option in the Notcoin application to transfer tokens to Tonkeeper
3. Connect to the app
4. Confirm the connection of Tonkeeper to Notcoin
5.Receive Notcoins in Tonkeeper.
6. Exchange NOT for TON in Tonkeeper

We understand that some users may have accidentally overcharged their batteries, especially with the low TON fees. For those who have overcharged their batteries, we create a possibility to refund TON.

How to Request a Tonkeeper Battery Refund:

1. Open the Tonkeeper

2. Go to the Settings

3. Select the Battery

4. Tap the Request Refund

5. Select the transaction and confirm refund

Then, the screen will display information about your available refund amount. Review it and confirm the request. TON will go to your wallet and you will see it in your transaction history.

For the first time opening the app, follow the on-screen instructions to set up the Tonkeeper wallet.

2. Сhoose Buy & Sell on the main screen

Navigate to the main screen of Tonkeeper and select Buy & Sell. Tonkeeper offers a variety of convenient options, including one-click in-app purchases by cards and bank transfers. Some platforms might request ID or passport verification for security purposes — have them handy!

3. Swap TON via a crypto exchange

Task

Design and mark-up a single web page about 🔋Tonkeeper Battery. The goal of the page is to explain what this feature does and its key use cases: gasless payments and swaps for USDT, Notcoin and other tokens; NFT transfers; funding with in-app purchases or crypto.

Requirements

- Use mostly factual information, but feel free to make up some numbers if they were not published yet.
- Make your own graphics.
- Responsive design (desktop+mobile).
- Fun graphics and visualizations are a plus.
- Optimized use of bandwidth: img compression, low js overhead are a plus.
- Adhering to the current Tonkeeper style is not a requirement.

🔥Tonkeeper and MMpro Trust launch RWA store for pre-IPO investments

We are thrilled to announce a partnership with MMpro Trust, a top platform for tokenized assets to launch an RWA (Real-World Asset) Store. This new initiative gives investors access to Pre-IPO investments through RWA NFTs, offering great benefits to both traditional and crypto investors.

What should I do if I lose my wallet seed phrase?

It is essential to store seed phrases securely. Never share a seed phrase with anyone. As a non-custody wallet on the TON network, Tonkeeper cannot recover access to wallets without the seed phrase.

⚠️ Do not share the 24-word recovery phrase, only scammers will ask for it
⚠️ The Tonkeeper team will never DM you first or ask for funds.
⚠️ Be careful of external links or files that are shared.Do not click or download anything.

How do I top up the Tonkeeper Battery?

Anyone can top up the Tonkeeper Battery using:

- NOT — minimum transfer of 300 NOT
- USDT — minimum transfer of 3 USDT

If the charges do not appear, please try restarting the application. Should the issue persist, do not hesitate to contact the support team. Tonkeeper is here to assist with any problems.

I Sent all my funds to the Battery, how can I get them back?

For clients who overpaid for charging the Battery, Tonkeeper has implemented a refund option.

How to Request a Tonkeeper Battery Refund:
1. Open Tonkeeper
2. Go to Settings
3. Select Battery
4. Tap Request Refund
5. Select the transaction and confirm refund

How can I find the transaction ID or TxID?

Please go to the "History" section in the Tonkeeper app and open the desired transfer. At the bottom, you will see a "Transaction" button, which will go to the blockchain explorer, where the TxID will be displayed in the address bar.

What should I do if my transaction status is "unknown"?

A transaction with the status "Unknown" usually indicates that there are insufficient TONs in Tonkeeper to pay the blockchain fee. Tonkeeper advises keeping at least 0.1 TON for transfers to exchanges and at least 1.1 TON for swaps with tokens and NFTs.

⚡️ Gasless USDT and Notcoin transfers in Tonkeeper

A month ago, Tonkeeper introduced a breakthrough 🔋Tonkeeper Battery feature that pays transactions fees when an account’s TON balance is zero. The Battery covers payments, staking, swaps and more with any tokens and NFTs. In just one month, Battery relayed almost 1,000,000 transactions covering over $100,000 in fees.

Today we are making a big step forward: ⚡️fast gasless payments in USDT⚡️. Users do not have to charge the Battery: transaction fees are paid directly from the USDT balance.

Gasless USDT transfers in Tonkeeper work 2x faster and 1.5x cheaper than in any other wallet.
