Hasten to do good deeds
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
بادروا بالأعمال فتناً كقطع الليل المظلم يصبح الرجل مؤمنا ويمسي كافراً ويمسي مؤمنا ويصبح كافراً، يبيع دينه بعرض من الدنيا .
رواه مسلم ١١٨
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,
Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to disbelief in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn disbeliever in the morning, and would sell his Faith for worldly goods.
Narrated by Muslim, 118
Fasting on ‘Ashoora’ (10th Day of Muharram)
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
فعَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ
مَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَحَرَّى صِيَامَ يَوْمٍ فَضَّلَهُ عَلَى غَيْرِهِ إِلا هَذَا الْيَوْمَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَهَذَا الشَّهْرَ يَعْنِي شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ .
رواه البخاري ٢٠٠٦
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) so keen to make sure he fasted any day and preferring it over another except this day, the day of ‘Ashoora’, and this month – meaning Ramadaan.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2006.
Note:
‘Ashoora’ is the 10th Day of Muharram (The first month of the Hijri Calendar). This year ‘Ashoora’ will be on Monday 8th August 2022*.

Dua When Leaving the House
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عن أم المؤمنين أم سلمة، واسمها هند بنت أبي أمية حذيفة المخزومية، رضي الله عنها أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا خرج من بيته قال:
بسم الله، توكلت على الله ، اللهم إني أعوذ بك أن أضل أو أضل، أو أذل أو أذل، أو أظلم أو أظلم ، أو أجهل أو يجهل علي
رواه أبو داود ٥٠٩٤، والترمذي ٣٤٢٧ قال الترمذي: حديث حسن صحيح، وهذا لفظ أبي داود
Umm Salamah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) stepped out of his house, he would say,
Bismillaah, tawakkaltu ‘ala Allaah. Allaahumma inni a’oothu bika an adilla aw udalla, aw adhilla aw udhalla, aw adhwlima aw udhwlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala ‘alayya.
(In the name of Allaah, I put my trust in Allaah. O Allaah, I seek refuge with You lest I should stray or be led astray, lest I slip or be tripped, lest I oppress or be oppressed, lest I behave foolishly or be treated foolishly)
Abu Dawud (5094) and At-Tirmidhi (3427) reported it. According to At-Tirmidhi, this Hadith is classified as Hasan Sahih. Its wording is from Abu Dawud.
Advice of the Prophet ﷺ to Ibn Abbas
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كُنْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمًا فَقَال
يَا غُلاَمُ إِنِّي أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ إِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللَّهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الأُمَّةَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعَتْ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَنْفَعُوكَ إِلاَّ بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَضُرُّوكَ إِلاَّ بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ رُفِعَتِ الأَقْلاَمُ وَجَفَّتِ الصُّحُفُ
رواه الترمذي ٢٥١٦. و قال هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيح
Ibn 'Abbas narrated:
"I was behind the Prophet(ﷺ) one day when he said:
O boy! I will teach you a statement: Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him before you. When you ask, ask Allah, and when you seek aid, seek Allah's aid. Know that if the entire creation were to gather together to do something to benefit you- you would never get any benefit except that Allah had written for you. And if they were to gather to do something to harm you- you would never be harmed except that Allah had written for you. The pens are lifted and the pages are dried.
Narrated by Tirmidhi, 2516 and he said this hadith is hasan saheeh.
The Month of Muharram
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ
الزَّمَانُ قَدْ اسْتَدَارَ كَهَيْئَتِهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ السَّنَةُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ثَلاثَةٌ مُتَوَالِيَاتٌ ذُو الْقَعْدَةِ وَذُو الْحِجَّةِ وَالْمُحَرَّمُ وَرَجَبُ مُضَرَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ جُمَادَى وَشَعْبَانَ
رواه البخاري ٣١٩٧
Abu Bakrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
The division of time has turned to its original form which was current the day Allaah created the heavens and earth. The year consists of twelve months of which four are sacred: three consecutive months, Dhu’l-Qa’dah, Dhu’l-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab of Mudar which comes between Jumada and Sha’baan.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3197 .
The Gift of Patience
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
وعن أبي سعيد سعد بن مالك بن سنان الخدري رضي الله عنهما
"أن ناساً من الأنصار سألوا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فأعطاهم، ثم سألوه فأعطاهم ، حتى نفد ما عنده، فقال لهم حين أنفق كل شيء بيده : "ما يكن عندي من خير فلن أدخره عنكم ، ومن يستعفف يعفه الله، ومن يستغن يغنه الله، ومن يتصبر يصبره الله. وما أعطي أحد عطاءً خيراً وأوسع من الصبر
متفق عليه، رواه البخاري ١٤٦٩ و مسلم ١٠٥٣
Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that:
Certain people of the Ansar asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he gave them; then they again asked him and he gave them until all what he possessed was exhausted.
Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whatever wealth I have, I will not withhold from you. Whosoever would be chaste and modest; Allah will keep him chaste and modest and whosoever would seek self-sufficiency, Allah will make him self-sufficient; and whosoever would be patient, Allah will give him patience, and no one is granted a gift better and more comprehensive than patience".
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1469 and Muslim, 1053 .
Sincerity
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَعْمَالِكُمْ
رواه مسلم . ٢٥٦٤
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Verily Allah does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds.
Narrated by Muslim, 2564.
Fasting on the Day of Arafah
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عن أبي قتادة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال عن صوم يوم عرفة
يكفر السنة الماضية والسنة القابلة
رواه مسلم . ١١٦٢
It was reported from Abu Qutaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that
the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafaah:
It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.
Narrated by Muslim (1162).
10 Days of Dhul Hijjah
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال
مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ ، قالوا يا رسول الله: ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله؟ قال: وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، إِلَّا رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ
رواه البخاري ٩٦٩ وأبو داود (٢٤٣٨) – واللفظ له –
Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” They said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.”
Narrated by Al-Bukhaari (969) and Abu Dawud (2438).
Dhul Hijjah is the last month of the Hijri Calendar which is expected to start Tomorrow (Thursday 30th June) or Friday based on moonsighting.
Loving the Prophet ﷺ
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم
لاَ يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ وَالِدِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ .
رواه البخاري ١٥
Narrated Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind."
Narrated by Al-Bukhaari (15)

[8/10] Qiyaam Layl (Night Prayer) Series
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
مَنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَيْقَظَ امْرَأَتَهُ، فَصَلَّيَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ جَمِيعًا، كُتِبَا مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا، وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ
رواه أبو داود (1451)، وصححه الألباني في "صحيح أبي داود".
Abu Sa‘eed al-Khudri and Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
Whoever wakes up at night and wakes his wife, and they pray two rak‘ahs together, they will be recorded among the men and women who remember Allah much
Narrated by Abu Dawood (1451)
Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.
[6/10] Qiyaam Layl (Night Prayer) Series
From Quran
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُزَّمِّلُ
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)!
قُمِ ٱلَّيۡلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا
Stand (to pray) all night, except a little.
نِّصۡفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصۡ مِنۡهُ قَلِيلًا
Half of it, or a little less than that,
أَوۡ زِدۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَرۡتِيلًا
Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style.
إِنَّا سَنُلۡقِي عَلَيۡكَ قَوۡلٗا ثَقِيلًا
Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal laws, etc.).
إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيۡلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطۡـٔٗا وَأَقۡوَمُ قِيلًا
Verily, the rising by night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most potent and good for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Allah).
Surah Al-Muzzammil: 1 - 6
[4/10] Qiyaam Layl (Night Prayer) Series
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍ
Verily, the Muttaqun (pious) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise),
ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحۡسِنِينَ
Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers).
كَانُواْ قَلِيلٗا مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ مَا يَهۡجَعُون
They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope].
Surah Adh-Dhâriyât: 15 - 17

From Quran
إِنَّمَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُواْ بِهَا خَرُّواْۤ سُجَّدٗاۤ وَسَبَّحُواْ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ۩
Only those believe in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), who, when they are reminded of them fall down prostrate, and glorify the Praises of their Lord, and they are not proud.
تَتَجَافَىٰ جُنُوبُهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمَضَاجِعِ يَدۡعُونَ رَبَّهُمۡ خَوۡفٗا وَطَمَعٗا وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ
Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (charity in Allah's Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them.
فَلَا تَعۡلَمُ نَفۡسٞ مَّآ أُخۡفِيَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعۡيُنٖ جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do.

Steadfastness
From Quran
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ فَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
الأحقاف : ١٣-١٤
Verily, those who say: “Our Lord is (only) Allah,” and thereafter Istaqamu (i.e. stood firm and straight on the Islamic Faith of Monotheism by abstaining from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which Allah has forbidden and by performing all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained), on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
Such shall be the dwellers of Paradise, abiding therein (forever), a reward for what they used to do.
Surah Al-Ahqâf: 13-14
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عن أبي عمرو، وقيل: أبي عمرة سفيان بن عبد الله رضي الله عنه قال: قلت:
يا رسول الله قل لي في الإسلام قولاً لا أسأل عنه أحداً غيرك. قال: ”قل آمنت بالله: ثم استقم
رواه مسلم ٣٨
Sufyan bin ‘Abdullah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I said,
O Messenger of Allah, tell me something of Islam which I will not ask anyone else about it.” He (ﷺ) said, “Say, ‘I believe in Allah’ and then be steadfast
Narrated by Muslim, 38
Fear Allah
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عن أبي أمامة صدي بن عجلان الباهلي رضي الله عنه قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب في حجة الوداع فقال
اتقوا الله ، وصلوا خمسكم، وصوموا شهركم، وأدوا زكاة أموالكم، وأطيعوا أمراءكم، تدخلوا جنة ربكم
رواه الترمذي ٦١٦. و قال هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيح
Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
I heard Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) during the sermon of the Farewell Pilgrimage saying,
Fear Allah, perform your five daily Salat, observe Saum during the month (of Ramadan) , pay the Zakat on your wealth and obey your leaders; (if you do so) you will enter the Jannah of your Rabb.
Narrated by Tirmidhi, 616 and he said this hadith is hasan saheeh
Fasting in the Month of Muharram
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
أَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الْمُحَرَّمُ وأفضل الصلاة بعد الفريضة صلاة الليل
رواه مسلم ١١٦٣
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
The best fasting after Ramadaan is the month of Allaah Muharram, and the best prayer after the obligatory prayer is prayer at night.
Narrated by Muslim, 1163.
Truthfulness
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عن ابن مسعود رضي الله عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال
إن الصدق يهدي إلى البر وإن البر يهدي إلى الجنة، وإن الرجل ليصدق حتى يكتب عند الله صديقاً، وإن الكذب يهدي إلى الفجور، وإن الفجور يهدي إلى النار، وإن الرجل ليكذب حتى يكتب عند الله كذاباً
متفق عليه، رواه البخاري ٦٠٩٤ و مسلم ٢٦٠٧
Abdullah bin Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
Truth leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Jannah. A man persists in speaking the truth until he will be recorded with Allaah as a siddeeq (speaker of the truth). Falsehood leads to immorality and immorality leads to Hellfire, and a person persists on telling lies until he is recorded with Allaah as a liar.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6094 and Muslim, 2607 .
Allah Forgives
From Quran
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوۡبَةٗ نَّصُوحًا عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ وَيُدۡخِلَكُمۡ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ يَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡزِي ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيَّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥۖ نُورُهُمۡ يَسۡعَىٰ بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَبِأَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَتۡمِمۡ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَآۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
التحريم : ٨
O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, "Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent."
Surah At-Tahreem: 8
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
عن أبي موسى عبد الله بن قيس الأشعرى رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال
إن الله تعالى يبسط يده بالليل ليتوب مسيء النهار، ويبسط يده بالنهار ليتوب مسيء الليل حتى تطلع الشمس من مغربها
رواه مسلم ٢٧٥٩
Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
Allah, the Exalted, will continue to stretch out His Hand in the night so that the sinners of the day may repent, and continue to stretch His Hand in the daytime so that the sinners of the night may repent, until the sun rises from the west
Narrated by Muslim, 2759
The Days of al-Tashreeq
عَنْ نُبَيْشَةَ، الْهُذَلِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
أَيَّامُ التَّشْرِيقِ أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ وَذِكْرٍ لِلَّهِ
رواه مسلم . ١١٤١
Nubaisha al-Hudhali reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
The days of al-Tashreeq are days of eating, drinking and remembering Allah.
Narrated by Muslim (1141).
The days of al-Tashreeq are the 11th, 12th, 13th of the Month of Dhul Hijjah
Rememberance of Allah

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَتَطۡمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۗ أَلَا بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطۡمَئِنُّ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ
الرعد : ٢٨
Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.
Surah Ar-Ra`d: 28

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
مَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ. فِي يَوْمٍ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ حُطَّتْ خَطَايَاهُ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said,
Whoever says ‘Subhaan Allaahi wa bi hamdihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah)’ one hundred times in a day, his sins will be erased, even if they are like the foam of the sea.

Spending for Allah’s Sake

عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ
إِنَّكَ لَنْ تُنْفِقَ نَفَقَةً تَبْتَغِي بِهَا وَجْهَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا أُجِرْتَ عَلَيْهَا حَتَّى مَا تَجْعَلُ فِي فَمِ امْرَأَتِكَ

Narrated Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said,
You will never spend anything seeking thereby the Face of Allah, but you will be rewarded for it, even (the food) that you put in your wife’s mouth.

عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا : كَيْفَ كَانَتْ صَلاَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَمَضَانَ ؟ قَالَتْ
مَا كَانَ يَزِيدُ فِي رَمَضَانَ وَلاَ فِي غَيْرِهِ عَلَى إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً ، يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ ، فَلاَ تَسْأَلْ عَنْ حُسْنِهِنَّ وَطُولِهِنَّ ، ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا ، فَلاَ تَسْأَلْ عَنْ حُسْنِهِنَّ وَطُولِهِنَّ ، ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي ثَلاَثًا.
رواه البخاري ٣٥٦٩ ، ومسلم ٧٣٨
Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abd ar-Rahmaan narrated that he asked ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her): How did the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) pray during Ramadan? She said:
He did not pray more, in Ramadan or at any other time, than eleven rak‘ahs. He would pray four, and do not ask how beautiful and long they were. Then he would pray four, and do not ask how beautiful and long they were. Then he would pray three.

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ
مَا تَرَى فِي صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ قَالَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ؛ فَإِذَا خَشِيَ الصُّبْحَ : صَلَّى وَاحِدَةً فَأَوْتَرَتْ لَهُ مَا صَلَّى
رواه البخاري (472)، ومسلم (749)
Abdullah ibn ‘Umar, who said: A man asked the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) when he was on the minbar:
What do you say about the night prayers [qiyaam]? He said: Two [rak‘ahs] by two, then when you fear that dawn is about to break, pray one [rak‘ah] and that will make what you have prayed odd-numbered.”

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
كَانَ يَقُومُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ حَتَّى تَتَفَطَّرَ قَدَمَاهُ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لِمَ تَصْنَعُ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَقَدْ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ قَالَ " أَفَلاَ أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَكُونَ عَبْدًا شَكُورًا ".
رواه البخاري ٤٨٣٧
Narrated Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ)
used to offer prayer at night (for such a long time) that his feet used to crack. I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ! Why do you do it since Allah has forgiven you your faults of the past and those to follow?" He said, "Shouldn't I love to be a thankful slave (of Allah)?'

عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :
إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا تُرَى ظُهُورُهَا مِنْ بُطُونِهَا ، وَبُطُونُهَا مِنْ ظُهُورِهَا ، فَقَامَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَقَالَ : لِمَنْ هِيَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : لِمَنْ أَطَابَ الْكَلامَ ، وَأَطْعَمَ الطَّعَامَ ، وَأَدَامَ الصِّيَامَ ، وَصَلَّى لِلَّهِ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّاسُ نِيَامٌ
رواه الترمذي ١٩٨٤ وحسنه الألباني في صحيح الترمذي .
Ali said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“In Paradise there are apartments the outside of which can be seen from the inside and the inside of which can be seen from the outside.” A Bedouin stood up and said: “Who are they for, O Messenger of Allaah?” He said: “They are for those who speak good words, feed others, fast regularly and pray to Allaah at night when people are sleeping.”
Al-Tirmidhi (1984) classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:
أفضل الصيام بعد رمضان: شهر الله المحرم، وأفضل الصلاة بعد الفريضة: صلاة الليل
رواه مسلم ١١٦٣
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,
The best month for observing Saum (fasting) next after Ramadan is the month of Allah, the Muharram; and the best Salat (prayer) next after the prescribed Salat is Salat at night (Tahajjud prayers)."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رضي الله عنهما قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :
مَنْ قَامَ بِعَشْرِ آيَاتٍ لَمْ يُكْتَبْ مِنْ الْغَافِلِينَ ، وَمَنْ قَامَ بِمِائَةِ آيَةٍ كُتِبَ مِنْ الْقَانِتِينَ ، وَمَنْ قَامَ بِأَلْفِ آيَةٍ كُتِبَ مِنْ الْمُقَنْطِرِينَ
رواه أبو داود ١٣٩٨ و صححه الألباني في صحيح أبي داود (١٣٩٨) .
Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allaah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
Whoever prays qiyaam reciting ten verses will not be recorded as one of the heedless. Whoever prays qiyaam reciting one hundred verses will be recorded as one of the devout. Whoever prays qiyaam reciting one thousand verses will be recorded as one of those who collected a great deal of reward
