Scammers send malicious links posing as “friends,” fake government programs, or investment chats.

After the latest Telegram update, users discovered a bug in sticker-based games (🎰 🎳 ⚽️ and others).
How it worked:
— you first roll a winning combo in “Saved Messages” (for example, 777)
— then forward that message to a gambling bot
— the bot counts it as a win, and you cash out
Previously this bug didn’t work, but after the recent update it became active again.
Potential losses for casino platforms are estimated at over $1M.

Crypto millionaire Roman Novak and his wife were killed in the UAE. The couple was planning to buy a property and likely had a large sum of money with them — funds allegedly borrowed “to develop a business.” It’s believed the murder was connected to this money.
They disappeared in early October: their phones went silent, and the last signal was traced to Cape Town. Later it turned out they had been kidnapped by extortionists, who killed them after realizing no ransom would be paid.
The organizers of the crime were Russian nationals — they’ve been detained, and extradition to St. Petersburg is being prepared.
Novak was known in the crypto community for shady dealings: he borrowed large sums from investors and falsely claimed to be part of Telegram’s executive team. The couple leaves behind young children.
