On Android, the app will recommend optimized default settings for your device.
Media Permissions in Groups. Admins can decide which media types are allowed in their groups – each with individual toggles.
With this, groups can cut down on clutter, create unique conversation styles, or even disable text messages for media-only groups.
Specific users can have their own unique permissions by adding exceptions.

Public Profile Photos. Telegram’s privacy settings give users full control over their visibility, including who is able to see their profile photos.
Adding any restrictions or exceptions for your profile photo unlocks the option to set a public photo that will be shown to everyone that can’t see your main one.
To change who can see your phone number, last seen time, profile photo and more, go to Settings > Privacy and Security.
Replace Profile Photos. The profile photos of your contacts are replaceable – you can set another photo or video for them that only you will see.
To replace a contact's photo, open their Profile > Edit > Set Photo for Contact. You can also suggest them a profile photo.
Media Editor. Drawings, text, stickers, shapes and more can be added to both photos and videos in the media editor.

From the same page, you can quickly enable auto-delete for any other chats in just a few taps.
Topics. Large groups of 100+ members can enable topics in Group Settings to organize their discussion into separate spaces.
Each topic works like a chat – with its own shared media and notification settings, supporting powerful features like polls, bots, games and more.
The group’s service messages and pre-topic message history are included in the default General topic. Admins can rename this topic or hide it from the main list.
Collectible Usernames. Acquire and exchange unique usernames on a new platform, secured by the TON blockchain.
In addition to a basic username, any user can have multiple collectible ones that can be assigned to their profile, group or channel – or reserved for later use.
Collectibles have the same features as basic usernames – they appear in Global Search results, can be used for @mentions, and have their own t.me
links.
Granular Playback Speed. Videos, podcasts, voice and video messages can be played at any speed from 0.2x to 2.5x – for audio hold the 2X button, and for videos tap➕ or ➕ then move the slider.

All users can enable translation, adding a dedicated button for individual messages.
Hide Members in Groups. Admins of groups with 100+ members can hide the member list to give participants more privacy.

Storage Usage. Telegram needs zero extra space to run on your device. You can clear cached media from your phone, while keeping it in your chats – ready to be re-downloaded at any time.
Just head to Settings > Data and Storage > Storage Usage and try one (or all 💪) of these options:
1) Set up Auto-Remove to clear cached media after a certain period with separate settings for Private Chats, Groups and Channels – and exceptions for individual chats.
2) Set a maximum cache size – if your cache reaches this limit, the oldest media will be removed.
3) Find the largest media items with dedicated tabs and detailed pie charts and manually clear them from your cache or select specific chats that take too much space.
Spoiler Media. Photos and videos can be sent with a shimmering spoiler effect in any chat – hiding the contents until your recipient taps to view it.
To apply spoiler effects, select your media in the 📎attachment menu, tap ➕ or ➕ and Hide With Spoiler.
You can also apply the same spoiler effect to text in messages or captions.
Detailed Storage Usage. You can see how much space each chat is using on your device and clear the media of individual chats from your cache, filtered by file type.
Clearing your cache does not delete any messages or media from your chats – they stay in the chat history, ready to re-download when you need them.
The Storage Usage page has several settings to maximize storage space – like automatically removing older media from your cache, as well as a maximum cache size on iOS.
Aggressive Anti-Spam. Admins in groups of 200+ members can enable Aggressive Anti-Spam to unleash the full force of Telegram’s experienced anti-spam algorithms in their chat.
These algorithms are more precise and efficient than third-party bots, and allow admins to report false positives from the Recent Actions page to further train the tools.
Anonymous Numbers. Sign up without a SIM card or make your existing account more incognito with an anonymous number from Fragment.
These numbers don’t receive calls or SMS – instead, your login code is always available in the My Anonymous Numbers section of Fragment.
Like collectible usernames, ownership of anonymous numbers is tied to your TON wallet in the blockchain and can be sold or traded to others.
