Payments 2.0, Scheduled Voice Chats, New Web Versions
Merchants can now natively accept credit card payments in any Telegram chat, relying on 8 integrated third-party payment providers. Telegram doesn't store card info and charges no commission.
Voice Chats can now be scheduled in advance – members will see a countdown in the chat and can choose to be notified when the chat starts.
Two new web versions have launched, with full support for features like dark mode, animated stickers, chat folders and more.
Android users can directly download Telegram from our site. The app will get new updates automatically – and faster than the Play Store version:

Group and channel admins can create additional invite links with a limited duration, number of uses, or both.

Today's update adds Voice Chats, creating a seamless integration of text and talk in groups. Members can join and leave these open conference calls at any time for a bit of spontaneous conversation alongside their usual text messages and media.
As the calendar turns over to 2021, we'll be busy taking in your feedback and improving Voice Chats with features like video and screen sharing at the top of our list.

Today's update brings you multiple pinned messages, proximity alerts for Live Locations, sending music as Playlists, and more.
All chats, including one-on-one chats now support multiple pinned messages. Tap on the top bar to jump through them in chat, or use the new icon to open all the pinned messages on a separate page.
When sharing Live Location, you can now set distance alerts that will send you a notification when someone is close, and icons on the map show which direction users are facing.
Sending multiple music files at the same time will create a playlist. Pressing play will automatically add the rest of the tracks to your queue. For other file types, multiple photos or documents will be sent as an album.
It wouldn’t be an update without extra animated emoji, so check out what happens when you send a single ⚰️ 🎃 🧛♀️ 🧟♂️ 🦇 🕷 🕸 🌜 🌛 or 🗿 in chat (and tap on the animated ⚰️ and 🎃 emojis in chat for an extra surprise).
If you’re feeling lucky, see if you can hit the jackpot using 🎰.

Available on Android immediately (Google Play, APK) – and for the rest immediately after you switch to Android (or as soon as Apple finishes approving the update).
Telegram is 7 years old today – and we have a present for you. Yes, it's Video Calls. 🎁
Enjoy the update while we go back to doing the three most important things: adding new features, standing up for what we believe in and animating emoji.

Telegram 4.7 has arrived just in time for the holidays!
On Android, this update makes it possible to log in to multiple accounts and quickly switch between them. Consider it a New Year's gift to your alter ego – or your dark side?
Speaking of dark sides: on iOS, the new version brings theme support, including two versions of a night mode.
Starting with 4.7, both mobile platforms also support swipe-to-reply gestures.

Telegram v.4.6 is here! You can now set up your auto-download preferences with granular precision (find the new options in Settings > Data & Storage). For example, always download pictures from your mother on any connection, but only auto-download media from groups when you're on WiFi.
iOS users will enjoy the new option to swipe left on any message to quickly reply to it.
For everyone else, we've also added support for albums to Secret chats, full support for MTProto 2.0, and the option to only use p2p in calls with contacts (see Settings > Privacy & Security).
Link previews for Instagram posts and tweets with multiple photos will now show all the media as an album, like this:

You can now search for messages from a specific group member and add emoji to your messages by typing ':' + keyword. Get Telegram 4.2.1 for iOS and 4.2.2 for Android these two new features.
Here's how the new message search works:
Supergroups can now have up to 10,000 members! We've added members search to supergroups to help you find people in these newly massive haystacks.
Admins also get new tools for managing the increasing group populations: creators can appoint admins with granular rights (add members, remove members, add new admins, etc.). We've also added partial restrictions for members (read-only, no stickers etc.) and temporary bans.
The new event log (admin-only) will help you see all service actions taken by members and admins of a channel or supergroup in the last 48 hours – with search and filters.
On top of this, we've added improved sharing to our iOS app, Android pay support to our Android app and many smaller quality-of-life improvements throughout.

If you lost your stickers for a few minutes, don't worry! They're all back now.
If you still don't see them, this may be related to caching — reloading the app will help. Alternatively, just add a new pack. Try this one:
Voice Chats 2.0: Channels, Millions of Listeners, Recorded Chats, Admin Tools
Voice Chats can now hold millions of live listeners in any Telegram group or channel.
Admins can record audio from the chat and add users with specific Speaker and Listener links. Listeners who are muted can raise their hand to let admins know that they want a turn to speak.
In channels, you can join a voice chat with your personal account or appear as one of your channels.

Move your message history from other apps to Telegram
Millions of people are switching every day and now their old chats from WhatsApp, Line and KakaoTalk can come with them – along with all their friends and family. 😉
This update also gives you more control of your data: secret chats, groups you created and call history can be deleted for all sides at any time.
Voice Chats now appear at the top of your Call History page, and both members and admins can individually adjust other users’ microphone levels.
After one of your contacts joins Telegram, you can open the chat and send a friendly greeting sticker with one tap. 👋

You can't stop newspapers from spreading the terrorists' message far and wide, but at least you can report public terrorist content on Telegram (in the unlikely event you ever see it).
