🛞Did you know August 29 is the motorbike's birthday? It was on this day that the world's first internal combustion motorcycle was patented in 1885.

These days, the vehicle is loved not only by riders but by sportsmen as well. For example, ice speedway, the popular motorcycle sport (and the most technically difficult), attracts hundreds of participants and thousands of viewers. In Russia, the competitions take place outdoors in temperatures below -20°C.

Falls are practically unavoidable, but racers don’t fear the possibility of suffering a compression fracture of the spine. Watch 'No Brakes, No Fear' (2019) to learn more about this extreme sport.

UFO hunting at Okno Surveillance Station

In this episode, Pavel is entrusted with putting one of the 'astrotowers' into operation, while Anna is on duty in the control room, tasked with detecting satellites. Since 'Okno' station’s powerful telescopes are constantly monitoring what’s going on in space, Pavel wants to know whether the soldiers have ever seen a UFO. Meanwhile, it is Anna who is barred from asking questions.

Once night falls, Pavel and Anna go stargazing. This isn’t Anna’s only entertainment as the following day her fellow servicemen invite her to the cinema.

The next morning, Pavel is on patrol when he is ambushed by unknown attackers. While being patched up in a local medical facility, he comes to the conclusion that the attack was masterminded by Anna. He goes in search of his journalist colleague, only to find that she’s also had to seek medical attention. Perhaps it’s time for Anna and Pavel to put their differences aside in order to make it through military service in this oppressively hot, high-altitude environment.

🔔It's time to choose Friday’s documentary! Which one do you find the most interesting? Vote for it in our poll. You’ll see the winning film tomorrow afternoon.

'Unbroken in Syria' (2017) is about the fate of servicemen permanently disabled by the Syrian war. Severe injuries did not make them give up in the face of difficulties - they keep living, working and helping each other.

'In a Siberian Tiger's Footsteps' (2020)
By the middle of the 20th century there were only about 30 Amur tigers left in the world. They almost disappeared due to poaching and deforestation. Who saved them, and what is done to preserve their population today?

'The Untamed Shrew' (2015)
You'd hardly distinguish Sisa Abu from Egypt from a man. She's been pretending to be male for more than 40 years. Her husband died when she was 20, leaving her with a baby. And as it's barely possible to find work for a woman in Egypt, Sisa came up with an idea of how to provide for her family.

Today, passing through this part of Bosnia & Herzegovina, you see statues of Izetbegovic, streets and squares named after him, hundreds of sights are named after Alija Izetbegovic. And everyone knows he was a convicted Nazi collaborator, so it's obvious his name should never be glorified.'
