‘The Germans, together with the French, thought about creating some sort of counterbalance for America as the economic centre of the so-called West. They thought about using cheap raw materials - from Russia, specifically - and building a high-speed railway so that container shipments from China... and then America would no longer be of any use,’ says political analyst from Poland Mariusz Świder. ‘If Western Europe gets isolated from China, the main competitor of the US, then Western Europe again will have to go hat in hand to the United States. And buy gas, trade, produce, and collaborate with the US.’

💬‘In fact, the word 'loot' also is a Hindi word, which has made it into the English dictionary. So, quite tellingly, even the Hindi word 'loot' has been looted into the English lexicon,’ says the young resident of India. Another citizen of this country, who studied in London, notes that they were ‘wealthier than Britain when the British came here. The story begins in 1768 to 1938. These years... were the years when the Indian artefacts were stolen from Indian temples, houses, palaces, art centres. They were taken to the British Museum. The entire British Museum is filled with stolen items.’

🔔It’s time to choose Friday’s best documentary! We'll post the winner of the poll tomorrow.

‘My Baby, My Way’ (2015)
Shocking as it may sound, some parents have signed up their newborns to 'baby yoga,' which involves spinning and swinging the newborns by the legs and arms. Adherents of this system claim that it forms emotional stability in children and contributes to their rapid development. Opponents, however, say these ‘exercises’ can only harm children. So what is it: a method for making babies stronger or child abuse?

‘City of The Phoenix’ (2021)
Planes and trains do not fly to the Chinese city of Fenghuang, which is far away from any transport arteries. But like a magnet, it attracts tourists from all over the world. What is it that makes them flock here?

‘No Fun in the Sun’ (2018)
This film is about people who can’t be in the sun. Sunlight can seriously injure or even kill them. These poor souls are forced to live like vampires and can only come out at night. What happened to them?

Why do German chancellors have to follow orders of American representatives? Watch the video to get the answer.

In fact, the term has been banned in Germany,’ Aleksandr Kamkin, the Senior Researcher of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, told the journalist Anna Chapman in an interview. ‘If you publish or say 'democratorship' anywhere in Germany, you will immediately be labelled an extremist and could be prosecuted for incitement to hatred,’ he added.

At the same time, the Polish authorities are escalating Russophobia in the country. They are demolishing Soviet monuments, hastily modernising their army, and flooding Ukraine with weapons. There is even talk that the country has plans to seize territory in western Ukraine.

In a Canadian cemetery in Oakville the monument to the Ukrainian fascists, members of the 14th Waffen Galicia SS Division, who pledged allegiance to Hitler, is established.

The Western elite professes its love for Bandera. All this despite the fact that thousands were killed during World War II on his orders. Bandera is one of the most repulsive figures from Ukrainian history, the bearer of an ideology that he partially copied from the Fuhrer.

▶️‘RT Doc: Time of Heroes’ festival is gaining momentum. This year, we are collecting documentaries about Donbass from different authors to show them around Russia. You are also welcome to send us your film! Please contact us at: info@rtfestival.com

Besides the films directed by Russian filmmakers, the work of foreign journalists will participate in our festival as well. For example, Anne-Laure Bonnel has sent us her ‘Donbass 2022’. The journalist’s life has changed a lot after the documentary premiered online. She was hugely condemned and fired from the University of Paris where she had worked for 15 years. Bonnel emphasized that her previous documentary that she made in Donbass in 2016 was screened even in the Sorbonne. However, six years later they consider the topic unacceptable.

Bonnel’s story isn’t an isolated case. Our documentary Donbass: That’s Why I’m Here features several journalists and filmmakers who’ve been turned away by their homelands simply because they showed an alternative viewpoint that isn’t in line with the official stance. Watch the film if you haven’t done so yet.

So, gradually, it all came together'. Child guardian Lidia Kovalyova is taking care of Donbass children in the orphanage in Donbass region. Watch the video to learn more.
