We spent almost a year manually collecting 4,815 relocation-friendly tech jobs as part of The Global Move initiative.
Today, we finally published the full analysis.
Here’s what this massive dataset revealed:
- Germany beats every other country in relocation-friendly tech roles.
- FinTech is hiring internationally faster than AI.
- Most international roles come from mid-sized companies (50–5,000 employees), not mega enterprises.
- Java and Python still take a large share of the language pie, based on job description mentions.

#insights #remotefromanywherejobs
Many jobs are labeled remote. Very few actually mean remote from anywhere.
So how do you find those roles?
After reviewing hundreds of remote jobs for The Global Move community, some clear patterns emerged.
Here are a few practical checks that can help you spot true “remote-from-anywhere” (tech) roles faster and avoid common red flags:
✅ Start with the simplest signal: is there a geography attached?
Roles labeled “Remote – USA,” “Remote (EU),” “LATAM only,” or similar wording clearly come with location restrictions.
If a role lists specific time zones, it likely has location limits – even if it’s technically labeled simply “remote.”
Look for explicit language like:
- “worldwide remote”
- “global remote”
- “work from anywhere”
- “fully asynchronous”
- “distributed team across multiple countries”
These aren’t guarantees, but they’re strong indicators.
✅ Treat salary as a clue, not a promise
Pay ranges can indicate the target hiring market.
For example, a range like $100k–$250k often signals a US-centered market (not always, but often).
✅ Watch the application form
Sometimes the job post is vague, but the application form tells the truth.
Questions like “Which time zone can you work in?” often reveal required overlap.
If the location dropdown includes only a few regions (for example, US, Canada, Europe, Other), that usually means there are geographic requirements.
Red flags that often signal US-only hiring include questions about US work authorization, a US tax ID, US-specific benefits, or requirements such as security clearance.
✅ Check the company on LinkedIn
If a company truly hires globally, you can usually see it in their team.
Review employee locations. If you spot team members working from India, Asia, Africa, or other regions beyond the USA and Europe, that’s a strong sign the company hires internationally.
✅ Pay attention to company size
Teams in the 50–200 or 200–500 range are often flexible enough to hire globally without heavy bureaucracy.
Very small companies (under 30 people) often avoid true global hiring due to legal and operational overhead. Very large companies (1,000+ employees) usually introduce regional payroll, compliance, and tax constraints that limit global flexibility.

How do you know if a company is open to hiring international (tech) talent?
We wrote a short guide with clear signs to look for - plus red flags that usually mean “locals only.”
Here are some tried-and-tested methods to identify international-friendly employers:
1. Start with the simplest filter: the Careers page.
Search for keywords like “visa,” “relocation,” “work permit,” “sponsorship,” or “international applicants.” These signals usually mean the company is open to hiring talent from around the world.
2. Judge by language.
Companies open to global candidates almost always:
- Post job ads in English.
- Say “knowledge of X (local) language is a plus,” rather than making it a requirement
This pattern is true across Europe, Canada, Australia, and most of Asia.
If English appears as the company’s official working language, that’s an even stronger green light.
3. Investigate their team on LinkedIn.
If you see a team made up of people from different nationalities - especially in engineering or product roles - that’s a very good sign.
4. Check official government lists of companies allowed to sponsor visas.
Many countries maintain public databases of employers authorized to hire foreign talent. If your target company appears on one of these lists, that’s as solid a confirmation as you can get.

Since February 2025, our founder, Andrew, has handpicked over 1,500 tech job opps with relocation support for The Global Move community on Substack.
Last week, we took time to analyze those relocation-friendly openings – here’s what we found:
📌 Germany leads the way in relocation-friendly job postings for software engineers.
📌 FinTech is the hottest industry – even hotter than AI.
📌 Scale-ups and midsize companies are posting more jobs than MAANG.
Out of the 1,500+ job postings, Back-End roles topped the charts with 500+ openings – more than double the next category. Even in a world dominated by AI hype, the need for solid back-end engineering remains undisputed.
That’s great news for experienced engineers whose skills may not be flashy but are absolutely essential.
At the same time, Data & AI roles are holding strong with 350+ openings. Within that group, job titles like Data Engineer, Data Scientist, and Machine Learning Engineer make up the bulk of listings.
It’s also notable that DevOps & Infrastructure roles rank third. This shows that global companies continue to invest in stability and scaling.

Some jobs don’t come from sending applications. They come from talking to people.
Our team just finished a piece on how to network during a job search. The advice is simple: find people who are a few steps ahead of you. Ask for advice – not a job. Share your story. Be curious and helpful.
It’s not about spamming. It’s about building trust. That’s how hidden opportunities appear.

We cover:
- how early preparation shapes outcomes long before you apply

- how to turn visibility into trust with recruiters and hiring managers
- how long it typically takes to be ready to enter the market and start applying
- and everything in between
