Applicant tracking systems (ATS) reject resumes — is that true?
Yes and no.
There's a common belief that ATS software can automatically reject your resume and ruin your chances of landing a job.
No wonder so many job seekers pay for tools promising "ATS-optimized" resumes. Sounds appealing. But… there are over 100 different ATS systems. Which one are they actually optimizing for?
Andrew, our founder, dug deep into the topic — and there's now an article that explains the ins and outs:

Since February 2025, our founder, Andrew, has handpicked over 1,500 tech job opps with relocation support for The Global Move community on Substack.
Last week, we took time to analyze those relocation-friendly openings – here’s what we found:
📌 Germany leads the way in relocation-friendly job postings for software engineers.
📌 FinTech is the hottest industry – even hotter than AI.
📌 Scale-ups and midsize companies are posting more jobs than MAANG.
Out of the 1,500+ job postings, Back-End roles topped the charts with 500+ openings – more than double the next category. Even in a world dominated by AI hype, the need for solid back-end engineering remains undisputed.
That’s great news for experienced engineers whose skills may not be flashy but are absolutely essential.
At the same time, Data & AI roles are holding strong with 350+ openings. Within that group, job titles like Data Engineer, Data Scientist, and Machine Learning Engineer make up the bulk of listings.
It’s also notable that DevOps & Infrastructure roles rank third. This shows that global companies continue to invest in stability and scaling.

Some jobs don’t come from sending applications. They come from talking to people.
Our team just finished a piece on how to network during a job search. The advice is simple: find people who are a few steps ahead of you. Ask for advice – not a job. Share your story. Be curious and helpful.
It’s not about spamming. It’s about building trust. That’s how hidden opportunities appear.

Who's thinking about moving to France 🇫🇷 for work?
Here are some helpful resources to get you started:

✅ JOB SEARCH: COMPANIES HIRING FROM OUTSIDE FRANCE
If you’re looking to relocate for a tech job, France, like neighboring Germany and Spain, has companies that hire talent internationally.
For example, these employers currently have open tech roles that offer – or at least claim to offer – visa sponsorship/relocation support:
Voodoo
Mistral AI
amo
Brevo
Photoroom
Jus Mundi
Stockly
Teads
Dust

GitHub’s CEO:
Hands-on coding is still key.
Finally wrapped up our Employer Not Required series – a set of articles all about how to move abroad without needing visa sponsorship from an employer.
For a long time, the standard blueprint for relocating abroad has been: secure a job offer, get your visa sponsored, then relocate.
But that’s no longer the only route – and for many, it’s not even the best one.
In our series, we explore three alternative pathways to relocating without employer sponsorship:
💻 Pathway #1: Remote Job
Relocate while working remotely – either through an Employer of Record or by obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa.
🔎 Pathway #2: Job Seeker Visa
Move legally without a job, then use your time on the ground to network, apply for roles, and interview in person.
🌟 Pathway #3: Talent Visa
No job offer or sponsorship required – just proof that you’re exceptional at what you do (some countries even grant these to musicians and artists!).

Can you land a tech job abroad with relocation through LinkedIn?
In short: yes.
But mass-applying with the Quick Apply button isn’t the most effective strategy.
According to insider insights, 60-80% of tech roles are actively sourced by recruiters. So if you want to boost your chances of getting a job abroad using LinkedIn, the key is to make your profile discoverable – and it takes more than just flipping on the “Open to Work” badge.
We published a new piece explaining how to turn your LinkedIn profile into a self-selling business card for international recruiters:
Spoiler: there are some great tips from Atlassian’s Principal Tech Recruiter in there.
