Skylake SMBios and build Recommendation
I have a Asus B150M Plus, and a i5-6500, running on iGPU.
Since I am most familiar with High Sierra I decided to try that.
I tried a few SMBios, the iMac 17,1, MacbookPro 14,1, and Macbook 9,1. In hindsight the 9,1 is a pretty bad pick.
But I get the "prohibited" screen instead.
So uh .. do I need a ... Radeon R9 M380?
There is no way I have space for that. Does a FirePro W4300 sound convincing enough?
Alternatively, I do have a real Mac. A MBP 2016, I think. Also 6th gen. The SSD died, but I have a 2230 Phison ready to go in once the adapter come.

i’ve f’d up
So i decided to install Sonoma again, on my laptop. But Airportitlwm won’t work on the installer. I’ve done OC Snapshots, getting the right version of Airportitlwm.kext. But it just doesn’t work. Any help? I should’ve kept Sequoia tbh.

Blackscreen after Verbose on Sequoia (OpenCore)
Note: Black screen is not the 'no signal' one.
There is display, only black with backlight.
Specs: H61 motherboard
i5-3470
RX-550 Lexa (spoofed to Baffin core)
16 Gigs of RAM
256GB Sata SSD
This also happened when I first installed Sonoma, but it could be solved by using Safe Mode and in Safe Mode I ran OCLP to install root patched and it worked fine normally and had no issues. But I can't bypass it on Sequoia, not even with Safe Mode.

Sonoma on IvyBridge with a first gen Maxwell GPU

Successfully installed macOS Sonoma on my IvyBridge system with a GTX 750 (Maxwell), previously was running BigSur.
Hardware:
* CPU: i5 3470
* GPU: Nvidia GTX 750 (GM107)
* RAM: 16GB DDR3-1600
* Motherboard: Some Chinese B75 ITX motherboard
* Ethernet: Realtek RTL810xE
* Wifi/BT: Intel N7260
* Audio Codec: Realtek ALC662
What's working:
* Wifi
* Bluetooth
* Onboard audio
* iServices
* QE/CI
What's not working:
* Continuity features (Universal Clipboard and Handoff work one way, from iPhone to Mac. In BigSur they were working in both way.)
I patched the GTX 750 with OCLP version 2.0.1 and then updated to the latest version and patched again.
There're limitations to these non Metal GPUs but overall, I'm fine with that.

RX6600 performance on 15.5
I installed Sequioa on my AMD Ryzen 5, RX6600, and it works just fine. Desktop performance is really good, but when I tried to run WarThunder, it lagged as h*ll and was more or less unusable. Running Windows and the same game works just fine using max graphics resolution.
Windows has obviously drivers from AMD that seems optimized. Is the AMD drivers supplied by Apple really that "slow", or is it something in my setup that could be tweaked to improve GPU performance. If I get this to work , then I can get rid of the Windows partition.

Touch Bar for hack with touch screen ;)
The MacBook Pro Touch Bar was a somewhat controversial feature. While many users thought it added functionality to the laptop, others found it to be an unnecessary and, at times, annoying distraction. If you miss the Touch Bar and want to bring it back into your workflow, a program called Touché makes that possible.
Touché is a useful program and a great way to replace the old Touch Bar. If it fits your workflow and helps you be more productive, it's worth giving it a shot. https://redsweater.com/touche/
This free program is available for Mac users as long as you're running macOS 10.12.2 or later. It enables an on-screen "touch bar" that can be activated or hidden with the press of a keyboard shortcut.

Would it be worth running Ventura on a normal pc?
I've been getting intrested in changing OS the past couple of weeks, mainly because windows has been pissing me off. I wanna try linux, but something that always struck me is how simple and nice MacOS feels and looks. So I was wondering, how would macos work on my normal pc? Would it just straight up not work because of the different architecture, and I'd have to use an older version. Would it be worth it?
EDIT: My specs are
Ryzen 7 5700x3d
RTX 4060

Cheap Dell Optiplex for Hackintosh
I am looking to build a hackintosh using a dell optiplex. In the past I have tried to build hackintosh but all of them failed except one but it was on macOS snow leopard and all the pcs I have only have a vga and the graphics card is gt610 which is unsupported.
Can someone suggest me a cheap dell optiplex that runs macOS Sonoma or sequoia smoothly and can run macOS tahoe after the release for under 10000k inr or about 120 use. I live in India so it is kinda hard to find a cheap pc with good specs for that price. Although it is possible, I have seen a dell optiplex with i3-7th or 8th gen for around 9k without ssd and only 4gb ram. I have the ssd for it and the ram. I just want the model and preferably it should be a sff or a micro pc.

Problems with Tahoe, and more Tahoe beta 1 files
So do you know why MacOS "TouHou" (Tahoe) isnt detecting my mapped USB devices? I installed Ventura on my Computer and used Apple Software Update to get to Sequoia, but then I sprang for Tahoe Betas. I got a copy from the apple website and ran Install MacOS .app to get Tahoe running, but sadly my mouse and keyboard is not able to interface. Does anyone know why and how to fix the kext?

Why do I get this error when installing Ventura and which WiFi cards have supported kexts?

I am fairly new to hackintoshing, and this is the most successful attempt so far. Why does this error display when I try to install MacOS Ventura on my Dell Inspiron 3668? (i5 Spec)? (I am using Ethernet from a long cable that goes across the house to the router, need a more permanent alt, see second question)
My second question is:
I have a few WiFi Cards from random computers, but not much. Which should I use for the best support, and which .KEXT is for it?

* Another Intel 8260NGW (anatel)
* A WiFI Card that goes by the name "**Genuine Anatel Atheros PCI-E Wireless WiFi WLAN Card QCNFA435 KE11A0L001**" (ebay listing name)
* Dell Wireless DW1707 (the brand name for the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565, I am aware that it is not supported past Big Sur (11)
* 2021 (release) RTL8821CE

Can I upgrade my 2017 Macbook Pro (no-touch bar) SSD with a 3rd party NVMe while running Sequoia on Opencore?
Firstly, I apologize if this isn’t the exact right place to ask — I’m new to the Mac upgrade scene and trying to find the best advice. But I thought some of you experienced people must know solution to such a basic issue.
TL;DR:
I upgraded my 2017 MacBook Pro from Ventura to Sequoia using OpenCore Legacy Patcher. Seller says I need macOS 10.2+ on original Apple SSD before swapping to a third-party NVMe SSD for EFI firmware updates. I’m unsure if my current setup has the right EFI firmware or if I need to downgrade to Ventura first. Need advice!
Hey everyone,
I'm planning to upgrade the internal SSD on my 2017 MacBook Pro (no Touch Bar, model A1708) from the original 128GB Apple SSD --> 3rd party 1TB NVMe SSD (KINGDATA).
Here is my situation and would appreciate any help:
\- I recently updated (last week) my macbook from Ventura --> Sequoia and it is running perfectly using OCLP.
\- When installing Sequoia, I had to install an EFI folder as part of the process I believe.
\- The SSD seller on amazon states in the product description that I need to have macOS 10.2 or later installed on the original Apple SSD before swapping to ensure the Mac's EFI firmware is updated. Something to do with the EFI/firmware being able to read the 3rd party SSD.
\- My Mac only officially supports up to macOS Ventura, but now I'm on Sequoia through OCLP.
\- I'm worried whether the EFI firmware was properly updated or has been changed or something while I installed Sequoia.
\- I checked my System Firmware Version (previously known as Boot ROM Version) and it shows "529.140.2.0.0" but I can't find any information online on whether this supposedly EFI firmware is updated enough to support 3rd-party NVMe SSDs and avoid certain sleep mode issues I have seen people face online.
So here are my questions:
1. Does running maOS Sequoia via OCLP confirm that EFI firmware updates from Ventura or earlier are intact and valid on my macbook?
2. Should I downgrade back to Ventura on my original SSD to ensure EFI updates are properly installed before swapping? OR Can I just directly swap the SSD without any issues?
