Hello everyone! This is the second time I've installed Hackintosh, at the moment I can't even launch the installer. Let's start with the specifications of my laptop:
CPU: i3-1215U
GPU: Intel UHD Graphics
Laptop model: MSI Modern 14 C12M-233XRU
Ethernet card: doesn't have Ethernet card
Audio Codec: I think it is Intel Alder Point-M/P PCH - HD Audio PCI
I tried all the methods I found and there was no result. I tried clover and opencore

Can I install hackintosh on my laptop
Hardware:
* CPU: i5 1135G7
* GPU: Iris Xe or MX450
* RAM: 4 GB
* Motherboard/Laptop model: HP Pavilion 15-eg0xxx

I really wanted to install Mac OS just for the fun but I wonder how usable actually it is I mean I’m not using my laptop for something special is it going to be seamless enough that I don’t care or there will be bugs that trigger me all the time (I know it’s not suppose to run on that pc and there will be problems)

Can't get high resolutions/HiDPI to work - Sonoma 14.6 - ThinkPad X1C2
GPU in question is Intel HD Graphics 5000 in a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 2 with a native 1440p display.
Issue: MacOS will not display properly at 1440p and higher. The highest I can set the display is 2304x1296 LoDPI before the display starts glitching out and is unusable. HiDPI resolutions like 720p HiDPI render at 1440p internally and so don't work right either. Similar situation for 1080p HiDPI rendering at 4K internally, both glitch out. I can't also get 1440p HiDPI to work at all and I can't even force it by adding a fake resolution to the system picker using BetterDisplay.
This wouldn't be much of an issue if all the text wasn't blurry when using a LoDPI resolution.
I've tried using different platform ID's but the only one that seems to work is 0x0A260005. I've tried 0x0A260006 and 0x0D260007 but they either don't display at all or just break the existing working resolutions. I can however mirror the internal display over HDMI and it works perfectly there. All resolutions at any DPI work great on an external mirrored display.
If anyone could help me, or at the very least, point me in the right direction, I would be very happy. Thank you in advance! I'm open to any questions necessary to fix this problem

Lost working wifi in Sonoma after wake from sleep
I installed Sonoma to a spare SSD and updated the Intel wifi kext to the latest posted on Github. Wifi worked stably for several days until I woke the computer from sleep after a few hours. Since then wifi no longer works in Sonoma and I get the misconfigured memory message (the one where system report sees the correct ram in the correct slots working at the correct speed). The EFI contains the RestrictEvents kext which is supposed to prevent that errant memory message.
In Ventura on the same computer using the same EFI with the Ventura wifi kext everything works fine, including wake from sleep. No misconfigured memory warning.
I reset nvram, did not help.
I booted with a copy of the previously working Sonoma EFI, same problems.
I replaced the wifi kext with a new copy, no fix.
I don't "need" Sonoma, and I could use it with ethernet, but curious if anyone has any idea why wake from sleep would break wifi and cause the misconfigured memory warning. I can only guess some configuration file in Sonoma was changed (?) but since I didn't get around to making a Sonoma clone I might have to see if reinstalling fixes the problem.

Getting a boot loop during Sonoma install after ~20 min
Hello everyone, looking for some help with Sonoma on an Optiplex 7070 MFF
I've been working on this for a couple of days and still haven't been able to get it working, I followed Dortania's guide and built the EFI for my PC, at the moment, I'm able to get to the installer, format the SSD I'm using for Sonoma, I begin the installation (it takes about 20 minutes), and then it reboots, but as soon as it continues with the installation in the SSD it restarts, I've gone through the troubleshooting section, but can't figure out whats going on. I hope someone can help me figure this out!
I'm attaching my EFI and the latest log file.
My System specs are:
* OC: 1.0.1
* PC: Dell Optiplext 7070 MFF
* CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9500T CPU @ 2.20GHz

Is the Intel core i5 8250U simmilar to the 8350U?
I have a Thinkpad T480s and I'm trying to hackintosh it. I have seen some efis on github that supports the T480s but the cpu on those laptops are the 8350U ones, which are different than mine. Has anyone tested the efis and will it work on my T480s?

Need Help with Compatible SSD
Hey all,
I'm trying to install macOS Ventura 13.6.9 on my Dell Inspiron 14 5410 (i5 11th Gen, NVMe SK hynix BC711), but I’ve hit a roadblock—my NVMe M.2 SSD isn’t showing up in Disk Utility. After some research, I found that my SSD might not be compatible with macOS.
I’m looking for recommendations on a low-cost SSD that’s tried and tested. Since I can't install an SSD internally due to my laptop's limitations, I'm also considering getting a USB adapter or enclosure to use it externally.
Here’s what I’m thinking:
- Internal SSD with Enclosure: This seems like a good option because internal SSDs are often cheaper than external ones. I’m considering something like the Western Digital WD Blue SN550 for this.
- External SSD: Alternatively, I could go with a pre-built external SSD, but I’m leaning towards the internal SSD + enclosure route to keep costs down.
Any advice on:
- Which SSD to purchase that’s compatible with macOS Ventura?
- Whether I should go with an internal SSD + enclosure or just get an external SSD?
- Specific SSD models or enclosures that have worked well for you in similar setups?

14700K and Sonoma - Don't worry about the online Intel fear frenzy - My positive results here
Ok, there is so much fear online over this issue that I decided to make a video on the topic showing my results. It isn't a hackintosh guide - so mods, don't remove it.
I tested with Asus Z790 ProArt Creator and 14700K.
Bottom line: using the method here: https://www.reddit.com/r/intel/comments/1eebdid/1314th\_gen\_intel\_baseline\_can\_still\_degrade\_cpu/, I am getting far less power and temps compared to Intel Baseline 0x129 but performance is near what I was getting with Asus Enhanced OC set in BIOS.

Around 17:00 is when I show all the results. Prior to that just an overview of situation and BIOS settings.
So as I have said before: I see no reason to discourage one from building a 13/14 Gen Hackintosh.

I am desperate
I have my old HP EliteBook 840 G3 with i5-6300U Skylake, HD520 graphics and 32GB of RAM. I wanted to install macOS to it, so I tried Sonoma. After some back and forth, I managed to boot the installer and install it. On the part when you have to select the macOS installer to complete the install, it would boot loop. ALWAYS. I tried multiple preconfigured EFI folders for my device, different model identifiers and followed dortania’s guide very closely. When trying it again with macOS Ventura, everything worked fine. My plan was to simply upgrade to macOS Sonoma afterwards. Simply. Spoiler: it wasn’t that easy. I tried everything I could think of. It showed me the update. But it always said it was unable to install. ALWAYS. AGAIN. I am very close to just throwing it out of the window. Please! Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Need help for troubleshoot
I just completed my Ventura Hackintosh and everything is working perfectly fine but there are three major issues I'm facing
1. The trackpad is not working
2. The battery indicator is not visible so I'm not able to see any battery status either it is on charge, or fully charge or how much charge is left as well as the life cycle count.
3. I'm not able to use the Bluetooth It's being a week i struggled installing MacOS but now after a huge success of installation I'm facing this issues I want to connect with you and help me resolve this issue since I need to start my IOS application development.

HDMI won't work!
I managed to get secondary monitor working with type c to hdmi converter with utilizes integrated gpu with whatever green's frame buffer patch. I attempted to put hackintosh 2-3 months ago but I couldn't daily drive it as virtualization is a must for me. I have tested Docker and vmware fusion and it works flawlessly this time around.
Bluetooth doesn't work!
This is something I have not figured out yet. My laptop has intel wifi chip. I don't know if bluetooth and wifi chips are different. Some insight on this matter will be helpful.
Touchpad works on Opencore selector menu but won't work on the desktop
As weird as it sounds this is actually happening to me. Not that it matters too much as I use a mouse at all times.
Other than that everything works!

OCB: LoadImage Failed: Volume Corrupt on OC Ventura on LGA775 motherboard
Hi everybody, I successfully installed Ventura on a LGA775 motherboard with "securebootmodel" as "Disabled" but when I select the boot partition in the OC picker I get this error "OCB: LoadImage Failed: Volume Corrupt"; if I set it as "Default" it boots normally. I need to set "securebootmodel" as "Disabled" because I have to patch Ventura with OCLP for the GPU and the USB 1.1 problem. I use the last version of OC, the 1.0.1 version, but I already tried with older versions (also pre 0.7.2 versions) without luck, always the same error. All compiled with the official Dortania guide following "Penryn" and "Legacy" guide parts. I also followed a guide on InsanelyMac which used the same motherboard but same error.

Display glitching out - Sonoma 14.6 - Intel HD 5000

MacOS at high resolutions will glitch out as seen in the video. I have tried different platform ID's but I couldn't get it fixed. I have CSM enabled in the BIOS and it's still broken.
What can I do to fix this? It displays fine at any resolution lower than the native 1440p and why I'm forced to run this at 2304x1296 instead of any other HiDPI/native resolution.

Mackintosh as cheaper alternative to a new Mac? (For family member)
Hi (hope this isn't breaking any rules) I have a family member that's used iMac's for the past 20 years and her current one is slowing down to the point that it's nearly unusable, money is a bit tight at the moment so would it be worthwhile for me to build and set up a hackintosh for her for less than $1000 AUD?
All that she would be using it for is Facebook, photos backup, email, and very light word and photohop use
(It shouldn't matter if she can't sign in with her appleID but its almost nessecary to be able to recover from a time machine backup)
I'm reasonably knowledgeable on windows and (somewhat) on Mac and have built a few PC's in the past but haven't looked into hackintoshes at all.

Is it worth trying to do a hackintosh setup for an older P53 vs just buying a use macbook pro?
I have a thinkpad p53 running an i7-9750h and been thinking of doing a hackintosh boot for it. I have never attempted one before and want to also have it usable for windows natively. Is it even worth exploring as a newb or am I better served looking for an older macbook pro since I can use the gpu instead of losing that ability with my p53? Talk to me like I'm 5. I used to have a macbook pro and ran windows 11 off it but prefer windows as my native setup and just want mac for a few small website development things

Change LauncherOption Boot Order?
Current Order: 1. Windows, 2. macOS. Desired Order: 1. macOS, 2. Windows
Is there anyway to reorder the boot options in LauncherOption on OpenCore?
Currently, Windows is the first/furthest left boot option so it acts as the default. However, I would like macOS to be the default OS/first in the boot order.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Broadcom (Fenvi T919) won’t work after Sonoma update
Hi guys, I’m leaving this here for anyone struggling with a Broadcom card.
I was using an AX211 (as it can be seen on my previous posts here) and I decided to switch to a Broadcom card for Airdrop, Handoff etc. I went for a Fenvi T919. I installed it and removed the unnecessary kexts and made the changes to my config and everything while I was on 14.1.2. Everything worked perfectly!
I then decided to update to 14.6.1… updated kexts then I updated the OS. Patched it with OCLP after the update and the WiFi/Bluetooth is no longer working. I scoured the depths of the internet for some days with no luck.
I then came across a fix which helped me and here’s the full process below.
Download IOSkywalkFamily.kext
Put them in efi/oc/kexts (make sure they are in that order)
Run ProperTree
Open > config.plist (from your efi folder)
File > OC Snapshot
Make sure that it is showing in config.plist
Check the version of IOSkywalkFamily.kext
If it still shows 1.0, change it to 1.1
Save your config and reboot your computer.
