Should I Upgrade to macOS 12 (Monterey)
I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 with an i3-3rd gen, with HD4000 Graphics running Big Sur.
I also have a macOS 12 (Monterey) full installer on the same laptop. Should I upgrade to Monterey or stay at Big Sur? I only have 1 USB with a backup of my current installation, and I do not want to waste my time again by reinstalling Big Sur from recovery. My EFI is on my laptop's drive with OpenCore, and I did not use OCLP for the current installation.

Audio device not being recognized on reboot
Can anyone help me with an issue with my audio interface not showing up in sound preferences as an output device?
My audio interface is a Scarlett 18i20 gen 3.
I recently did α clean install with the MacOS Sequoia 15.1 beta, however this issue was also occurring on Ventura 13.6.9 before I upgraded.
MacOS sees this device in audio devices and it functions without issue.
However, when I boot into MacOS whilst the device is on and connected, the device is ***not*** seen in preferences. I have to manually disconnect/reconnect (or power off/on) the device before it shows up as an audio device I can switch to in preferences.
This is rather annoying, as I have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting the device and selecting it again in preferences every single time I boot.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

Recently I upgraded my GPU to a Gigabyte RX6600 Eagle due to my Vega 56 suddenly stopping to work. Hackintosh works fine in Big Sur (11.7.10) but now with the new GPU upgrade its only iGPU that works as I know that I need to upgrade my OS for the new GPU to run natively.
For the past 2 weeks I have been trying to upgrade OS to either Monterey or Ventura with no success. The install gets to 12 minutes remaining reboots into the macOs update assistant with the message "A required firmware update could not be installed" and gives me the option to reboot back to my Big Sur drive. I've also tried doing a clean install and same problem happens.
After trying multiple times with my own EFI and also trying to create a new one with the latest version of OC (1.0.1) with no avail, I found a guide with similar specs to and decided to use the latest EFI provided with my own generated USB Map kext thinking someone someone's proven to work EFI could make the OS upgrade to go through. But even that does not help get over the "A required firmware update could not be installed" problem.

Tried to upgrade the OS through an offline Installation USB created in Windows and Mac in different methods like "Munki's InstallInstallMacOS" and OPLC.
Tried to upgrade OS straight from inside Big Sur (Which takes longer and goes over 12 minutes but reboots into Mac Installer and gives me the same error)

STUCK on Monterey install at Installer Damaged error
Hello / Help!
Longtime reader and personally not comfortable in this milieu, but here goes:
I've been working through the Dortania guide for two days, and keeping as tidy a config & file structure as possible. Can't figure out why I keep getting an error at the Mac Installation screen (from Recovery) at "about 17mins" loading screen, throwing an "installer damaged, redownload and start again" error.
If anybody could explain where I've got thing crossed. I can't really read the Mac UI installation logs or the OC.txt. Any advice or help on my files is most appreciated. Here's a link to the work so far:

Thus I figured load as an SMBIOS at iMac18,3 on this OS as is probably the best use of the existing potential for an Editing platform on this hardware. (LMK if you see a better option)
I have been all over the guide for troubleshooting. I've also changed the time in Recovery's Terminal to Sept 2019, Sept 2020, Sept 2022, updated to newest Catalina (current build running) and loaded recommended Kexts, Drivers, SSDTs and ProperTree settings. My experience prior to this has all been with many prev. generations of auto-setups in programs best left unmentioned here, so bear with me please.

Random lag/slow peaks after fan speed drops
Hey everyone,
Just ran into this problem a few days ago and still can’t seem to figure it out.
System boots and wakes up beautifully. Everything runs butter smooth for the first few seconds: opening apps, safari, tabs, settings. CPU fan is at full speed.
Then it randomly drops. All performance just suddenly goes away: some apps freeze, some stop answering, some animations keep randomly working. I can move the cursor but nothing responds.
I’ve tried lots of things unsuccesfully. Only today I’ve noticed that it seems connected to the CPU fan speed: when it drops, performance is lost. When it randomly bursts again, it all comes back.
Any thoughts on what I might be encountering?

Bluetooth not working with dongle or chipset on Sequoia?
Previously I had bluetooth working on Ventura with the intel chipset in my motherboard (AX211), however since upgrading to the 15.1 developer beta of Sequoia, I haven't been able to get it working no matter what I try.
I have also tried using the TP-Link UB400 dongle, which is supposed α popular option for Hackintosh builds.
I have tried both of these options with various combinations of BluetoolFixUp.kext, IntelBluetoothFirmware kexts, and with the internal bluetooth both enabled and disabled using USBMap.kext.
Maybe there's something i'm missing, but I would appreciate any help.
Here is α link to my current EFI folder. (This config was working with Ventura using the motherboard's AX211 chipset)

Trouble booting to Ventura Installer
I am trying to install Ventura on the below hardware.
MB: gigabyte z590 vision D, f9 bios
CPU: 10600k
GPU: amd rx 6650xt
Boot drive: NVMe WD SN570 2TB
RAM: 32gb (2x16)
Bluetooth/Wifi: Fenvi HB1200 (and Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 that came with board - I have no intention of trying to make this module work)
Also, both ethernet ports, the iGPU, and thunderbolt are disabled in the bios.
From the opencore menu, I select Install MacOS Ventura and I get a kernel panic.
I'm trying to understand where the problems are from what I see onscreen. Possibilities include:

AN515-54 Ventura EFI Configuration Problem
Hello, I have an AN515-54 device.
I installed Ventura 13.4, the touch pad does not work. And after the computer is turned on (after the system boots) it waits for about 5 minutes on the black screen. After 5 minutes the screen appears.

i do have a HP EliteBook X360 830 G10 | i5-1335U | 16GB Ram | 512 SSD incoming and want to use it in DualBoot with Windows / MacOS.
Several Years before, i ran a Hackintosh for Daily, now i plan to do the same (with Windows BackUp).
I was searching already for a post showing a successful install on the above mentioned model, but couldnt find any. Do you guys know, if its possible to run Sonoma on the given Device including all functionalitys?

WindowServer high CPU usage
When moving my trackpad on my hackintosh it causes window server to spike to 36% CPU. I believe this is because the polling rate is high and would like to know if their is any possible fix.

Audio Troubles
System:
CPU: Ryzen 5800x
MB: Asrock B550M-C
GPU: RX 580
macOS: 14 Sonoma
I can't seem to get my onboard audio to be recognized. I followed the opencore install guide ( https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/ ) and I was able install Sonoma on my system with relatively minor hitches (had to disable secure boot in order for the install to complete).
The one thing I have not been able to get working has been my onboard audio. The codec for it is the Realtek ALC897. I installed the AppleALC kext and have tried all the supported layouts as per https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleALC/wiki/Supported-codecs . No matter what, I have not been able to get any audio device to display. I used gfxutil and IORegistryExplorer to check if I had an HDEF device but none are showing up. I dug some more and tried to use SSDTTime to create a SSDT-HPET.alc and corresponding patch file. Applying them both didn't fix the issue either. I feel like I am going nuts because I think I've tried everything available, but this is my first time so I really don't know. Linking my EFI folder so you all can take a look. Please let me know if I can try something else.
