PCIe SATA Expansion Cards -- Power Needs
Quick question on PCIe-based SATA expansion cards. I need to add some internal SATA ports because my hack's Asus Z490-P mobo has only four. I've done a lot of searching regarding PCIe expansion cards, as well as reviewing the official PCIe specifications, but they mostly talk (brag) about throughput and performance.
I'm more concerned with power issues. As I understand, the PCIe slot draws lower power than a SATA II or SATA III hard drive requires. Throughput aside, I need to know if a PCIe slot's power can in actuality support the power requirements of 2-4 additional 3.5" hard drives. Maybe I just haven't searched the right place to get an easy answer, so I'm trying here in the hopes that I can find out yea/nay.
If it makes any difference, the drives I want to install are mainly for storage. They wouldn't be accessed continuously or simultaneously.

I was wondering if this GPU (bought from aliexpress) could work on macOS Sonoma, I saw several posts on the bios modding of this GPU, but I prefer to ask for help rather than break it lol. But if there was a way to make it work by spoofing it for another it would be ideal. Any suggestions?

Tutorial: How to make Parallels work on Hackintosh with "Bootcamp"
It took me 2 hours to figure this out, and I didn't find any good tutorials, so I managed to create it.

First of all, you may need to swap your EFI folders for Windows and OpenCore or Clover if your Win EFI is not first in a row. Or it will not work with a dual-boot drive. At least it didn't work for me, and the first option in it always tried to enable itself. Just mount both of them with diskutil and swap the folders.
Then, if it still won't boot, go to Parallels Bootcamp settings -> CPU & Memory ->
Hypervisor: Choose Parallels, and then enable both Adaptive Hypervisor and Enabe nested virtualization.
Also, to make it more obvious what Parralels is doing, you can click on the eye icon next to the load bar. It will switch to semi-manual mode.

Mac mini 2012 safe?
So I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask, but I have a Mac mini 2012 I bought which was upgraded to the max specs and had open core installed to install Sonoma on it.
I want to use this for newer applications and general use for media but I’m worried wether or not it’s safe to use my Apple ID on it, could this get me banned or put me at risk for viruses? Sorry if it’s a silly question, I don’t know much about this topic yet.

Ethernet port not working

MacOS 14.5 Sonoma
I have installed all the kexts for Realtek Ethernets, my OS wasn’t recognising my ethernet drivers, but I got it to show my chipset but when I connect my ethernet cable, I don’t see the ethernet lights on, I can’t connect to the internet, the same ethernet works perfectly fine on another windows laptop.
I think the kext files are correct and I also deleted the networkconfig.plist yet it didn’t cause any change.
This is my only pc, the laptop I tested my ethernet on and the phone I’m using to type this are borrowed. Please help, even if u don’t think that u can solve this, then just comment & upvote so that other ppl with the knowledge could see this post and help me out 🙏🏻

Mouse and Keyboard not working.
I used USBToolBox to map the USBs, yet it doesn't seem to pick up the mouse and the keyboard (it does pick up the USB Flash Drive though).
Specs: Intel Core i3-4130, Intel HD 4400 Graphics.

iServices not working with AirPortItwlm
I just updated to 14.5 sonoma on my ThinkPad T480 but iServices are not functioning with AirPortItwlm unless I use HeliPort and Itwlm. Is there a way to fix that?

GPU Swapping for Dual Boot
Hello, first timer here. I am building a hackintosh using an old laptop: MSI GS65
CPU: i7-9750H
GPU: GTX 1660TI (not supported by OSX according to Dortania)
OSX version: Ventura
Bootloader: Clover
My questions is there a way to have the pc automatically use the iGPU for OSX and the GTX for Windows?

Ethernet not functioning on Sonoma 14.5 (Intel i210 NIC)
Good day one and all.
I have moved from one issue to the next. I was able to get wifi and bluetooth running on Sonoma with my Intel AX 200 card. However, I have been unsuccessful with getting ethernet to function within the os.
I have tried using AppleIGB, AppleInteli210Ethernet & IntelMausi kexts with no success. The ethernet adapters either display "Not Connected" or "Self-assigned IP".
I have attached screenshots of what I am currently seeing.
Would I have to possibly make changes to the config.plist and if so, how?
Are there any other options available to get this resolved with Sonoma ?

iGPU HD630, macOS Sonoma
I physically removed my RX6600 dGPU and am using 7700K’s built in iGPU (HD630) for macOS Sonoma 14.5. The only change I made was modifying config.plist SMBIOS to iMac19,1. Surprisingly it booted after install and I have display!
Using DisplayPort on motherboard now but there are two weird issues:
It’s much slower to boot, on the Apple screen with progress bar it takes about an extra 2 minutes or so to boot into macOS compared to how quickly it would boot when the RX6600 was used.
There is only a white background, launchpad is slow, and the windows feel older in their style with solid colours and no transparency. It appears that, while I do have display, I do not have graphics acceleration from the iGPU.
Any suggestions for how to resolve? I can post my config.plist if it will help.

Unable to transfer windows 10 digital license from dual boot OC to new computer
Do windows digital licenses get stuck to dual boot hackintoshes?
Hi, I’m in the process of dismantling my old hackintosh. I have another pc that i’m using for windows (been running it no activation for a while now)
Trying to activate my digital copy of windows 10 home RETAIL (no cd key, bought from microsoft online) on my other pc but I can’t get it to activate. Won’t show my new pc in the list of devices for activation, just my hackintosh windows install
On my microsoft account online, it shows both pc’s. The hackintosh windows install appears using the injected mac serial number. I reset the hackintosh windows install to factory defaults, but bo luck.
My windows boot folder is still on the other hackintosh drive with osx and the efi
I haven’t wiped the main drive with osx yet as I still need it for a little while

Upgrade to 6900xt and black screen in Sonoma
I was running rx 560 in the 2nd pcie slot, and a 2080 super in the first pcie slot, and got sick of swapping the cable. So I upgraded to a 6900xt and took out the 560 and 2080, leaving only the 6900xt. Now it boots to a black screen.
I have added adgpmod=pikera (I know I spelled that wrong, I’m not at my computer, but I copy and pasted) into the config.plist in my efi folder for my boot usb. It still gives a black screen, and I can’t remember how to clear nvram in opencore.
Yet I also feel like I’m missing something.

When Changing SMBIOS, what else do we need to do (with Apple ID, iServices, etc)?

I have Asus Z790 ProArt, 14700k, using built in intel wifi AX211. Have read that people have best chance of success with iMessage, FaceTime when using 7,1 SMBIOS and using Itwlm. I would like to try this approach.
I initially installed Sonoma using 1,1 SMBIOS. All is well. Didn't want to use 7,1 BIOS, but figured may as well test it. So if I go that route, do I need to reinstall Sonoma, or is it just a matter of generating new data with genSMBIOS, updating config.plist, clearing NVRAM, rebooting?

Can I install macOS on this machine?
I have a old computer, and I want to install macOS on it. The problem: I only maked Hackintosh on QEMU, and not on real hardware. I don't know if I can install Hackintosh on it.
