Help with getting ethernet working
I have an old laptop that I want to make into a hackintosh (High Sierra). I've managed to make everything work that's needed to go through the setup (trackpad, keyboard etc.), however, the only thing thats holding me back is the ethernet not working. I've tried every Realtek driver on Dortiana's OpenCore Install Guide, however, nothing works. What else can I do?

Ventura vs sonoma
Hi. I was supposed to hackintosh my gf's pc months ago, but I'm too scared of messing something up. I was originally going to do a ventura hack, but I'm now wondering why not sonoma?
Is there any reason I should go ventura rather than sonoma?
Pc: intel 10100F, gpu i think radeon 6600. Getting a random intel wifi card secondhand because i cant get the bcd 9360 (or something like that) ones in my country. And fenvi is not in my budget in this country.
Ssd1: windows, ssd2: planning hackintosh.
Planning on using the opencore guide on this sub step by step. Maybe a youtube video when I'm struggling.

Notes:
Sequoia works, the only thing that isn't working is WiFi (AirportItlwm) and/or Fenvi (Broadcom).
Ethernet works just fine.
During the Sequoia installation, to avoid a black screen, I needed to use my HDMI port instead of the DisplayPort. After the installation the DisplayPort worked again.
Extra settings compared to Sonoma:
Updated all kexts to their beta versions
and added RestrictEvents.kext (don't forget to add -revbeta to boot arguments)
Updated OpenCore to 101 dev version
Using the following boot arguments:
keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 agdpmod=pikera alcid=11 -v -revbeta -lilubetaall -wegbeta -vsmcbeta

It just doesn’t boot anymore
I was just setting up my new hackintosh and when I was setting it up and I was using my dedicated gpu which is a AMD Radeon R5 240 (I know not the best). And everything went smooth and I got it setup. But I was trying to change the resolution which it was stuck at 1280x768. So I switched the DisplayPort to the iGPU and when I went to boot it up. It would just be stuck. No matter what I do whether I use the USB that i used to set it up or not I just would error out.
Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k
GPU: AMD Radeon R5 240
iGPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600
Amount of RAM: 10 Gigabytes

Update From Ventura To Sonoma. (The Things You Need To Do With Your EFI)
As I'm sure all of you came here looking for the things you need to change to get your EFI ready for macOS Sonoma from Ventura.
First Of, just make sure you are running opencores newest version.
(IMPORTANT)
First off, if you're installing the most recent one, which would be macOS Sonoma 14.4 from the OpenCore guide and App Store. You need to delete AirportITWLM and replace it with the macOS 14.4 AirportITWLM version as seen below. No, for this step, you don't need to even touch Config.plist since they have the same name, just a different version.

Second of all, before installation, go into your Config.plist file and go to MISC -> Security -> SecureBootModel. Set it to Disabled, and of course, the "D" must be uppercase as it’s case-sensitive. You don't need to use a specific app to change the configuration; you can use any. I recommend ProperTree or OC Auxiliary Tools.

Last but not least, this is an issue that might not happen to everyone, but it happened to me. So, I recommend you read this but don't do this step unless you encounter the problem. If you do, follow the steps listed below. (This problem will not break macOS and will not make it non-bootable.) After the Apple logo with the bar is done loading, the screen goes fully black for 5 minutes and then becomes normal. This happens on every boot. The screen isn't black; it's just very dark, so you will need a phone flashlight to see it, but that's a terrible fix.
Here is what you're gonna want to do. You're gonna go into Boot ARGS in Configuration. You're gonna edit it, not delete the text in it. You're gonna write -igfxdbeo next to the text and make sure there is a space. You want it to look something like this: (RandomTextBootup -igfxdbeo). Then you're just gonna reboot, and all problems are solved. Welcome to macOS Sonoma.

OC: configuration requires vault but no vault provided! error
i am doing my first efi and i am stuck on this error. I saw on the dortania's opencore guide that this was because the vault was set to secure, and it was, but when i changed it to optional it still throwed this error along with OCS: no schema for security at 5 index, context <root>! i tried everything including replacing the opencore.efi file

What part I got an issue with:
I'm trying to install Mavericks on the X240. I get an instant kernel panic trying to start the installer, can't really figure out what is causing it. Config.plist was edited by myself, I used the prebuit SSDTs, OpenCore is the latest version. Switched to the Debug version to give you as much information as possible (or at least as much as I know how to give you this information).
I tried messing with AppleXcpmCfgLock and AppleCpuPmCfgLock. First, I had only the first one turned on, now I have them both on - same results. I remade everything - same results. I tried searching some of the lines from the kernel panic, I really couldn't find anything helpful. Normally, I'm not that dumb with that stuff, I've had some successes (even on this particular machine a few years ago) but I've never had issues so early on in the boot process. I'll be grateful for any help!!

Ethernet Kext not recognized and NIC Status not blinking
Hi guys, this is my first time trying to make a hackintosh on my pc, but I have a problem. My ethernet kext doesnt seem to be working/recognized when typing kextstat in terminal. Im using LucyRTL8125 ethernet kext and im booting off the latest updated Sonoma installer. My Specs are down below and help would be much appreciated. Tell me if you need my config.plist. Hi guys, recently i’ve had to take the SSD from my hackintosh, upon installing a new SSD, i can no longer install mac os. I just get the apple support screen with a circle and a line going through it, which on the apple website states that a version of mac os is there, but not available. I am pretty sure that an iMac17,1 can install monterey? i’ve tried building a new EFI twice, and then found a further two prebuilt ones online, so i’ve tried 4 EFI files, and none work, all receiving this issue. I’ve been trying to fix this for about 2 days now, and i’m on the verge of giving up. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks in advance.

OC: Failed to drop ACPI 54445353
Hi folks,
HP Pavilion 17 (2014ish), Intel i3-3110m, 6gb RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000. Trying to run OSX Mavericks.
I boot, and it says "OC: Failed to drop ACPI 54445353" with a string after it. It does this twice. I have:
* checked with sanity checker and ocvalidate
* made sure that the values in ACPI | Delete | TableSignature are set to 53534454

Sudden Black Screen Issue on Sonoma 14.4.1 (XPS 13 7390) - Need Help
I've been running a Hackintosh on my Dell XPS 13 7390 (i7 10510U, Intel UHD 630, 16GB RAM, 4TB SSD) without any issues for days. Everything was working perfectly, including sleep, the touchscreen, brightness control, and I’ve even been simulating the iPhone 15 to test app development. Then it went wrong
Here's what happened:
1. I opened my laptop and booted into macOS
2. I launched my open Xcode project and started coding
3. I think I pressed run on the simulator (can't remember for sure), and suddenly, the screen went completely black
4. The laptop became unresponsive. no keyboard input, no screen activity, nothing
5. The power button wouldn't turn the laptop back on
6. I had to disconnect and reconnect the battery to get it to turn back on
I've had this issue before with a prebuilt EFI, which is why I decided to build my own using the Dortania guide. Up until this point, everything has been running smoothly
I really wanna continue using Xcode, I’ve heard I can use my Mac mini and program with react native using windows connected to the mac, but it seems like hassle which is why I’m on hackintosh
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Can I hackintosh this very old laptop with Mojave?
So, exactly what the title says, and it is old, as in, an HP G71-340US, a retired product, old. I got it running Windows 10 at the oldest version, and thought it would be a fun little project. The BIOS is what is getting me, because it is BARE-BONES. No UEFI support, and no Secure Boot support, and many others that guides say I should do. I thought I would try to do this guide, which was the simplest I could find, github.com/fpigeonjr/hackintosh-guide-mojave, and when I booted into the USB, nothing. Only a flashing underscore (happens no matter what I boot off of,) and then booted into Windows 10. Can I hackintosh it, or is this just impossible and I should give up?

How to recover an accidentally deleted partition?
So, i had a hackintosh, and it's the only system on the disk. But one day, i wanted to make it a dual boot so i created a new partition from the free space of the disk. Then, I used a bootable usb and tried to install the windows system on the new partition I made. It failed and everything on the hackintosh were gone accidentally.
I've tried using TestDisk. It shows that my disk has an AFPS partition that is deleted but I just can't get it back.
I've also tried a few other software but they can't even find the partition.
Is there any way that I can recover the partition?
