Updating Questions for Beginner
Hey yall. Haven’t updated my OS since getting my machine a few years ago preloaded with Catalina 10.15.7. I’m running a pre-built 10 core intel i9 with tons of ram and storage etc. Needing to update OS to keep up to date with some of the programs I use. Just looking to get up to Big Sur for now. I’ve made a backup of my boot drive just in case. I got a couple questions before I pull the trigger if anyone is so kind to help me out, surely other noobs lurking the sub will have similar Q’s:
Should I just get the regular Big Sur update thru the App Store?
What are kexts? Kept seeing people talking about updating them in similar threads.
I believe my machine is on OpenCore 0.6.4 which seems to be compatible with Big Sur. Is there anything else I should do on the backend before updating?

Failing to boot into the installer (8th gen i5 laptop, macOS Ventura, more info below)
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 720 15IKB 81C7 , on which I'm trying to install macOS 13. If I set `SecureBootModel` to `Disabled`, it goes further in the boot process, but eventually I just get a black screen and fan noise. With this property set to `Default`, it reboots instantly after selecting macOS from OpenCore.

Need help on the finishing touches
Hi guys,
I have a nearly perfect working Ryzentosh running Ventura.
The only two things i’m struggeling to get working are the following two things and they are both Wifi/BT related
- Handoff/Continuity/Airdrop only works one way
- Bluetooth does not function after sleep
I have a BCM94352Z installed in my PC and installed all the kexts according to the guide.
Can someone point me in the right direction on fixing these things or is this something that will never work?

How do I make the External Keyboard to work? Lenovo ThinkPad X220
First of all, I'm sorry if that's a simple problem in hackintoshing. I'm New to hackintosh (also my first time hackintoshing a PC) and sometimes googling just does not do the trick for me.

Anyways, Currently I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X220 currently running Windows 10 and I want to hackintosh it. (also VERY CLOSE to doing it :>) but I have a problem in getting my External Keyboard to work because the internal keyboard (ps2 Keyboard) is dead except for a few keys. Its the same thing for Clover and the latest Opencore (for opencore the macos utilities does not pickup signal from the keyboard). The External Keyboard does not work but an external mouse does. Google results are in already hackintoshed pc or just macos but very little in windows. I want something that can be done in bare Windows (or linux)

I had VoodooPS2Controller.kext before but in attempt to make the keyboard work I put in USBToolBox.kext, UTBDefault.kext and UTBMap.kext

*in related to the pictures, I am using USB ToolBox for Windows and it shows the ports and stuff. I have 1 USB 3.0 Ports and 2 USB 2.0 Ports.

Pascal running Sonoma
Thanks to some optimistic people in this community, I have managed to boot Sonoma with my unsupported gpu. The process is easy, add boot args as standard, for this one you also need to add one additional, actually you need to change an existing one which is agdpmod=0, set it to agdpmod=vit9696, if you add it on the end it will not work. Then restart pc, reset nvram, use oclp to patch it, restart, reset nvram, and it should boot without a black screen.
Since it is non metal, everyone says Chrome and WhatsApp don’t work, for me they work perfectly fine.
Only issue I can report is slightly lower fps when operating between windows and on homescreen, if somebody has a fix, that would be a truly perfect build.
The true issue that could be correlated to gpu is xcode simulator, it works but it is very slow and practically unusable, maybe due to my weak gpu, maybe due to the non metal install, idk.
Anyway, if someone has a fix for slightly lower fps, that would be awesome. Thank you.

2018 Dell XPS 9570 Laptop Hackintosh question
Hey guys
Im just installed macOS Ventura on my 2018 Dell XPS 9570 Laptop 15.6" UHD (3840 x 2160) and everything seems worked, obviously i need to replace wifi card but i wanted to use my android phone for usb tethering and sharing my internet from my phone but seems like this is not the case here.
If I go to the Network setting to configure DHCP there is nothing like its blank menu.
Is there the way to fix this or the only choice i have is to order wifi card.

Am I able to install hackintosh on an external usb drive?
As the title says. I have looked around and my hardware seems to be good for hackintosh. The reason I ask is because I have something to do on Xcode and I don’t have access to a real mac, in addition I already have a Linux and windows partition dualbooted on my machine and I really don’t want to touch my main drive. I’ve googled and I don’t see much reguarding macOS/hackintosh running entirely off a usb drive or external hard drive. I would prefer if I can get a complete is installation as opposed to a live one or a ram disk.

Viber mic fix
I cannot connect my mic to viber, it asks for permission but when i open settings there is no prompt, nor can i add it manually. On discord it works great. Im using ryzen 3 3100.

I have a Ryzen 6900HX mobile processor with Radeon Graphics integrated in the processor, along with a RTX 3070 Ti.
How can I get MacOS on my laptop without having to waste the RTX 3070 Ti graphics card. Is Is the integrated graphics even compatible with MacOS? The guide doesn't talk about AMD iGPUs.

HP 14dk1025w Issues
I was give a HP 14dk1025w (Ryzen 3250u, 4GB) laptop a while back that's just been sitting around since then. I decided to try turning it into a hackintosh once I had a spare SSD (from a Mini I was working on).
I went through the Dortonia guide and got macos Ventura installer to boot and install. Sadly, the macOS installation won't run, though. It pretty much stops at "iokit stall, iGPU" error. Nothing will happen for several minutes and it will repeat the same error not making any seeming progress.
I had it setup with a MacPro7,1 smbios but have since switched to a imac20,2. The only thing different is the screen goes black and it reboots.
The BIOS on this HP is fairly limited. I had to use https://github.com/DavidS95/Smokeless_UMAF to increase the vram allocation to the igpu, I assume this is working, of course. So, it should be meeting all the prerequisites for NootedRed. Removing NootedRed does cause it to show the Apple logo for a moment and some progress on the progress bar but it just restarts after the screen goes black.
Its just a single 4gb dimm, but I plan to up this if I manage to get it working. Any help or experience would be helpful

USB and Sound not working on my Dell Vostro 3500
