Thinkpad T520 recommendations
Hey guys,
I'm very new to hackintosh and was intrigued to install Mac OS on my Thinkpad T520.
It's currently running the lastest version of Ubuntu and I did some upgrades:
- 16GB DDR3 RAM
- 500GB intenso SSD
It has an Intel i5-2410M 2.9 GHz CPU and Nvidia Quadro NVS 4200M GPU.
Can anyone recommend to me, which version of Mac OS could run smoothly on it? (I would like to go for the latest possible version that does not cause too many issues)
My main is a MBP M1 Pro, if that's of any use for the process of installing.

However, based on the Intel Power Gadget, is it doing well without the hack? (I bought this unit second-hand so the battery is still "Normal"

I am pleased to share my recent accomplishment in successfully creating a flawless Hackintosh configuration on the Fujitsu ESPRIMO Q556 system.
A fortuitous turn of events unfolded when my workplace discarded a surplus of approximately 150 Fujitsu Q556 units for recycling. Seizing the opportunity, I acquired several units without cost, driven by my predilection for Apple products. Faced with the decision of whether to install Linux or embark on the endeavor of a Hackintosh setup, I deliberated extensively.
Despite prevailing skepticism regarding compatibility, a serendipitous encounter with a YouTube video featuring a Hackintosh configuration, particularly one demonstrated by a technophile in China, reignited my optimism.
Undeterred by the prevailing doubts, I resolved to craft my own EFI file from the ground up. The culmination of my efforts exceeded all expectations, resulting in a seamlessly functioning Hackintosh boasting impressive specifications: 32GB of RAM, powered by an Intel Core i5 6400T processor (with the possibility of future upgrade to an i7 7700T). Remarkably, this bespoke system outperforms even my cherished Mac mini.
This achievement stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and ingenuity in the face of technological challenges.

MacOS Monterey on Dell Optiplex 7040
4 years after joining this community and finally acquiring appropriate hardware, I finally have my hands on a working Hackintosh. It's been a ride.
Refurbished Dell Optiplex 7040 -
Intel i5 6400T
Intel HD Graphics 530 (Spoofed as 630)
16 GB RAM
512 SSD
This being my first "Apple Device", I don't think it would be a good idea to create an Apple account and use it on this at the risk of getting blocked/banned.
Bluetooth and Wifi don't work because the card was swapped out for an Atheros one, however I don't really need either so it's alright.
I am aware that I could probably get Ventura working on this too, I'll probably take it up later down the road.

USB mapping Bluetooth
The dortania guide says to map it as internal, but does it mean that only internal ports can be used for USB dongles? I mapped the one that goes from MB to the front of my case going by this understanding, and it works, but now I'm questioning if I could just map any port like this and use it for Bluetooth.

T440 Hackintosh as Desktop?
Hi! Recently I picked up a macbook air that I used opencore legacy and got sonoma on and it works great, but I dont want to spend money on a special adapter for hdmi to connect it to my monitor. I have a lenovo t440 and was just wondering what I should do if I want to put macos sonoma on it and use it as a desktop. The specs are below:
Core i5 vpro
8gb ddr3
500gb ssd (I dont want to dual boot)
vga ports and usb ports on the laptop as well (idk if that matters)
Very new to this so any advice would help :)

Okay, i've tried installing Sonoma through a raw file, but that's another fail story, as it does this same \\"error\\"\(?\).
​
Now, been trying to install ventura from that GitHub guide for Ryzentosh (mikigal), i don't really know what to do, searching the web didn't help, yeah this is my first hackintosh (but i've tried on a laptop some years ago, but at least i got to the apple instalation that time).
Every time i try something different, or even change take out some usb devices, the same error comes, with some number variations, other time it came something about AllocateMemory() as the last line before nothing happened at all.

Hackintosh boot hangs after chaning Wifi card, but installing the old one works fine
Hello everyone,
I've recently purchased a BCM94360CD wifi card for my hackintosh. This hackintosh was working "fine" (with lot of issues but the Wifi was half working with some disconnections, 0 compatibility with AP made with my iPhone but with Android devices was working fine, not BT and no Airdrop...) with an Intel Wifi card that came by default on my laptop.
After changing the wifi card with the BCM one that it should 100% work with hackintosh, when I boot up the laptop, it hang with a message like:
"com.apple.xpc.launchd|*DATE AND TIME* (cache-start) <Notice>: Doing boot task"
...And it takes forever without success, but if I use the USB stick with the installer and I boot the OS from the stick, it boots up without any issues. I tried to clone the EFI from my USB stick to the SSD but with no success, and if I put my old wifi card (the Intel one) back on the laptop, OS boots up from SSD with 0 problems.

Getting a strange error "EfiDpcProtocolGuid already installed in database"
As the title says, I'm running into an error on booting from the USB. "ASSERT [DpcDxe\] Dpc.c(32): &gEfiDpcProtocolGuid already installed in database"
System specs:
Intel i5-10600K
64GB DDR4
Intel UHD iGPU/RX 570
Intel wifi/bluetooth

BUILD ADVICE - Hackintosh Wireless Card
I'm planning to build a hackintosh, these are the parts I'm planning on getting:
CPU: i9 12900k, COOLER: EK Nucleus CR240 Dark, MOBO: MSI B760I EDGE (DDR5), RAM: Crucial Pro 2x24GB 5600MHz, STORAGE: 2TB M.2 (Crucial) & 2TB 2.5" SSD (Crucial), CASE: Dan Case A4 H2O, PSU: Corsair SF850L...
Currently have a Mac Pro 5 1 with a Sapphire RX 580 8GB and will use that card until the Radeon 8000 series comes out and the 6800/6900 XT comes down in price and then buy one of those and sell the Mac Pro.
Planning to mainly use it for 3D design, rendering, and graphic design on MacOS and the occasional game on windows. I know it's a bit overkill but I want it future-proofed.
Here's my main question:
I've been studying the OpenCore website and was gonna try to get a BCM94350 wireless card so I can use features like Airdrop and Apple Watch Unlock. But the motherboard has a wireless card installed where I'd need to put that card, do I just change the card? and will Wi-Fi and Bluetooth function on a Windows OS as well? or will I be able to get it to work without changing the wireless card?
Also while I wrote this I realised that I could just use 2 2TB M.2 drives if I'm just changing the card? (Originally thought I'd need to stick the Broadcom card in the second M.2)

Update on 1050 ti running Big Sur

So, yesterday I managed to boot Big Sur with Nvidia Pascal, yes, again, i know it is not sonoma, but it is perfectly usable, and looks almost the same as the newest macOS. I got sick of High Sierra and new software being unable to run on it.
Everybody said that Chrome doesn't work, it works fine for me, only issue i've experienced is that youtube feed doesn't display videos right away, but when i search for something, works just fine. Safari and Edge work normally.
Viber also works, haven't tried wa.
Another issue is in settings, on checkboxes, when they are not selected, there is a square on the side of options, but when it is selected, checkbox disappears, but it works and you can use them aside from them being invisible when selected.
Preview app doesn't seem to display image when i open it, but when i open the same image in photos, it works.
So, there are small bugs, but nothing major and something that will ruin your ux. I assume everyone here is running dual boot, so if you really need something that this cannot do, just boot into windows and problem solved. Until then, enjoy ui and ux that macos gives you.
Again, only thing that helped me was oclp. I tried Ventura, Monterey, Sonoma, only Big Sur booted with drivers apart from High Sierra.
Just follow the steps for patching and enjoy.

I messed up...
i messed up...
Hey yall, so I just reset my NVRAM/PRAM (i dont remember) and basically, it somehow messed my bios up. I can't go into the boot menu nor BIOS. I had to select "UEFI Firmware Options" in Windows to get to the BIOS. I also can't boot to anything if my USB is plugged in.
In the photo, there's supposed to be options like "ATA CD" or "USB HDD" but there isnt any.
Please help!

Any solution for using Realtek RTL8821CE?
My laptop (HP 15s-eq1002nq) has the wifi card mentioned in the title, I got big sur running pretty smoothly and without bugs (major bugs, theres minor things like webcam and microphone) however, using horndis is not really a good solution, speeds are very slow and most of the time it doesnt even load up any pages. Using my iphone to tether is a better solution tho its a shame it wont let me tether my wifi connection and only cellular. I’ve searched far and wide and found no solution for using this card. If there would be any other solution other than using tethering, please do tell me, if not, suggest some cards so i can replace it (keep in mind my laptop only has one antenna, idk if it matters) I’ve upgraded my ram and done countless things, but MacOS will never get the same smoothness as Windows imo (ive had a hackintosh before on my old Lenovo V370, it was completely bug-free though my usb ports died on it recently.) I am still pretty sire my card wont work but this is a last resort, if you do suggest some cards do know i dont need the best one available, i just honestly need it to work.

macOS Monterey Airdrop
I looked up how to make airdrop Work and I figured to buy an original apple wifi card.
My motherboard (Aorus B450 I Pro Wifi) has wifi/bt build in and I take a look the card goes into a ngff m.2 slot.
So my question is can I buy a ngff m.2 to apple wifi slot adapter and a BCM94360CS2 card and change that for my motherboards default card?

I tried "reset nvram" and BIOS only sees OpenCore
What the title says
I tried reset nvram
Now when I hit F2 at startup I only get "OpenCore" no matter what. Even if I don't have the OpenCore USB plugged. I have an SSD with a Win10 install but it won't be shown. Same with Win USB installers.
Tried bios reset.
Can't solve.
Ideas?
