Mac Os Montery installer goes to black screen
I am trying to install Mac Os montery i had Sonoma running on this system but wanted to switch due to all the bugs.
When trying to install it starts to install and starts the download of the files but after a while it goes to a black screen.
Ive tried moving my mouse and pushing keys on my keyboard but the screen wont come back.
What could be wrong and what could fix it?

Rebooting when click button “install”
Hi guys! help solve the problem with the computer constantly rebooting when installing hackintosh on the OpenCore bootloader (latest version). The reboot starts after exitbs:start exits. I know that there is a solution to this problem on Github. But nothing helped. This problem appeared after changing RAM modules. I reset nvram. Added cleannvram.efi. Nothing helps. There are no problems on Clover, the computer boots without problems. My system: B660m(huanan), 16 gb Ram, RX6600m, i3-12100f. Sonoma 14.1 (Clover)

OpenCore misconfiguration cannot locate HfsPlus.efi (yes I tried the fix in the troubleshooting guide)
Hello everyone, I was setting up a dev environment (flutter) on my machine and ran into some problems. Long story short, I decided to back up all important files and reinstall Ventura (13.6.3) in order to get a fresh start. After making the installer usb on my Macbook, I copied the EFI folder from the (then) working installation and proceeded to boot from it into the installer with out issues. After wiping the ssd and reformatting it to APFS, I tried to install macOS, but received an error that halted the installation. Upon rebooting, I was met with the error in the title which has a [solution here](https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/troubleshooting/extended/opencore-issues.html#stuck-on-oc-driver-xxx-efi-at-0-cannot-be-found) which did not work. So I found the binary of [HfsPlus.efi](https://github.com/acidanthera/OcBinaryData/blob/master/Drivers/HfsPlus.efi), replaced the file, then opened the config.plist, deleted the corresponding entry, and did an OC snapshot (ProperTree) before replacing the EFI on the drive with the newer modified EFI. This did not work, so I repeated the process with a clean OC snapshot which failed to boot with the same error.
I want to stress that the only modifications I made where those listed above and that there where no modifications from the working config when I first tried it. As for the installation error, I did not grape a screenshot/write it down as I did not see it as consequential at the time, and can no longer get to the installer where I could attempt to replicate it. I also made sure check the case of HfsPlus.efi (i.e. it is not hfsplus.efi).
The previous install worked perfectly as far as macOS and my hardware could manage (e.g. no iGPU on 12th gen intel)

Force Quit WindowsServer to deal with IntelBluetooth post wake issues
I recently updated from Big Sur to Ventura on my laptop hack and bluetooth works fine just like Big Sur.
Except for one thing, after sleep, you have to toggle it off and on again or use the command sudo pkill bluetoothd for it to work or else it shows toggled on but can't connect, so I assume it has some issues with starting up bluetoothd after wake.
Sometimes however, bluetooth completely fails to start/connect to devices even after the on off toggle or using sudo pkill bluetoothd and the OS needs to be restarted.
But if instead of rebooting the OS, if we force quit WindowsServer, which automatically logs you out of the system and kills all apps/processes, the bluetooth process is restarted and works again.Not sure if this is a known issue as I couldn't find much around.
I'm also not sure if force quitting WindowsServer causes any significant downsides as the only thing I know is that it is related to display and as far as you don't have any important process/app running, force quitting it should be fine.
Correct me if I am wrong.
I had no such issues on Big Sur btw.
If anyone is aware of a potential fix, let me know too.

Writing a new driver for RTL8821CE?
At this point I am fed up using a Wireless dongle, BRCM Cards are too expensive (with Sonoma literally omitting support), Intel cards are not available. And, HP forgot ethernet exists, apparently.
I wonder to myself now, how bad of a decision would it be to port a driver from linux anyways? As far as my Google searches have taken me, there is not a lot of info about macOS drivers. But there is itlwm.
My question here, or rather a request of advice, is to how I should achieve this dreadful thought of mine to finally use my laptop's internal wifi? I have experience working with the linux kernel itself, and I know how stuff works inside the kernel, and quite a bit about networking basics, so I might be able to figure stuff out given there is enough documentation.
My initial idea is to use https://github.com/tomaspinho/rtl8821ce/ as the rtk source and https://github.com/OpenIntelWireless/itlwm/ as the boilerplate.

Could not read \EFI\: Invalid Parameter
I've redone the EFI configuration twice but it's always the same when I boot the system.
I followed method 1 in the OpenCore documentation to make my USB bootable.
I followed the configuration written for the generation of my itel processor (coffee lake).

Advice for my first hackintosh
Hi, folks!
Long story short: last year I had to retire my good old Macbook and decided to assemble a PC to have powerful and upgradeable specs at affordable prices.
After months using Windows, it happens that I definitely hate it and I've decided to try hackintosh. I'm already familiar to OpencCore Legacy Patcher for old Macs, but I'm a total newbie with non-Apple hardware - and I'd love to have some advice.
Here are my current specs:
CPU: i5 13600K
Mobo: Rog Strix B760-A Wifi D4
RAM: 2X16GB 3600Mhz Ripjaws V
SSD: I intend to buy WD Black 850 exclusively for Hackintosh (current Crucial P5+ will remain with Win11)
Some additional info:
I would like to run Sonoma + Win11 on dual boot (on separate SSDs).
I would like to use macOS as my main system, and Windows as a backup.
I don't play games, but use the PC a lot for photography editing and graphic softwares (such as Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop).
I already know that my UHD 770 iGPU won't work.
Here are my questions:
1. As far as I've researched, Wifi (Intel) and audio (Realtek ALC4080) should work well, is that right? (I still haven't discovered Bluetooth specifications, and what to expect about Intel 2.5 Ethernet)
2. Should I expect any perceivable downside on hardware performance (or specific misfunctionings and malfunctionings) and overall system stability in comparison with Win11?
3. After researching for compatible GPUs, it seems that RX 580 and RX 6600 are good options, but I'm still looking for the best cost/benefit. As I don't play games, would I perceive much of a difference with one over another? Any additional recommendations on cheaper options?
4. I'm aware that hackintosh can be tricky, but I enjoy this kind of project and would really like to try it. Is there anything that I'm missing and I should know before spending money SSD+GPU?

off-screen kernel panic
I have a Xeon E5-1603 with a GeForce 210 not even running macOS Monterey rn.
After "patching" the system (more like placing nvidia tesla kexts in /System/Library/Extensions) and removing the VESA boot-arg, it gets halfway through the progress and then shuts the screen off and kernel panics off-screen because the panic logs are saved somewhere in the preboot partition and it gives me the screen that the system "rebooted because of a problem".
I've tried the High Sierra installer which natively supports Tesla chipsets, same behavior.

MacMini8,1 allows passkeys use, but no authentication required (anyone can use them on my Hackintosh?)
Hello everyone, I've had an issue that's bugging me and no true solution or reference found on-line.
Running Ventura latest 13.6.4 on Intel NUC10i5FNH (OpenCore 0.9.5 etc.) and since Montery, I have enabled passkeys (via "auto-fill" as requested via Keychain) on my iCloud account, including my iDevices.
However, from the first use as I remember, the prompt on websites (that support passkeys obviously and on which I have created one e.g. Amazon, in this example) do not prompt me for any kind of authentication.
After creating a passkey on Amazon, eBay, etc. on Safari, which is stored OK in my Keychain and sync'ed across my Apple ID account-linked devices, on my hackintosh I am offered to use the passkey without any method of authentication whatsoever (in view of the obvious lack of Touch ID).
Is this normal, expected? Should I stop using passkeys as my hackintosh is not protecting them?
This Support article doesn't help much, and passkeys apparently are enabled only on latest Touch-ID based Macs. Here it says that 2FA and iCloud must be used, but no mention to non-Touch-ID Macs.
Have you had this behavior? Any tips/solution/advice? I am very puzzled by the fact that my Macmini8,1 declared model offers these... Thanks in advance!

Stuck on grey screen after Apple logo with cursor
After following Dortania's guide, I tried installing Big Sur 11.2 basesystem.dmg / 11.4 full-offline installer with OpenCore, I get past the Apple logo and end up on a grey screen where I can't move my cursor.
My specs are:

T480 - Wifi Slow AF (But Not Always)
Just Hackintosh'd my T480 with Ventura - 32 gigs of RAM, 1TB NVME, 8250U. Basically everything works. However the Wifi is really strange. Running a test at SpeedTest.net I get 500-600mbps. Acts normal - but use Safari to go to a webpage or download Python ...40kb/s. What's happening here? Using the Intel Alpha drivers alleviates this somewhat. But not completely. I don't know off hand which WIFI card it comes with, but it's an intel and it's the stock one the T480's come with. AX210 maybe? Should I just pull it out and replace it with something else rather than trying to figure it out?
It's using 5ghz - so it's not that either.

High CPU usage on NootRX? MacOS Ventura
Updated this post since I wasn't on my pc last time I made it. Everything works fine except that it's underutilising my GPU and only using my CPU for rendering (I'm assuming), any way to fix/force it to only use my GPU?? Things get very laggy whenever the cpu usage spikes up especially when I'm dragging the window size or its rendering a lot on a webpage.

Kernal Panic - first boot always fails
have a weird issue in which the first boot fails and the PC restarts . The second boot or attempt is good however. the build itself is very stable once its booted. only thing perhaps that is finicky is something the brightness keys will not turn on automatically or at all. the kernel panic seems to related to VirtualSMC but I'm not entirely sure of how to go about fixing it.

Looking to upgrade 2017 Dual Windows/Mac Build
I’ve got a decent system running that I’d like to put some money into to see if I can boost performance and keep it up to spec for another good couple of years if I can.Specs are,
- Intel i7-7700 CPU (4 x 3.6GHz)
- Gigabyte H270M-D3H
- 2 x 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM
- SSD - 2 x WD WDS100T3X0E Western Digital WD Black SN770 1TB Gen4 NVMe SSD
- HDD - 1 x WD WD101FZBX Black 10TB 3.5' HDD SATA 6gb/s 7200RPM
- 6gb AMD RX 5600 XT Video Card
- Corsair Carbide 100R650W Corsair PSUBlack DVDRW
I run Mac OS Monterey currently for most of my work/home life, I use Premiere and After Effects primarily. But honestly probably get the most grunt out of the Windows side playing games, and that’s where I’d be keen to upgrade.
I had this setup built by a mate a few years back and through trial and error have picked up the basics.
I shifted from Clover to OpenCore and have upgraded the OS a couple of times now, so I think I’ve got my head around how to mitigate most disasters. Or at least how to actually have backups that I can revert back to. I’ve been upgrading components over time, such as doubling the RAM, a new GPU, faster SSDs, but I think I’ve reached the part where to make any significant improvements to day-to-day performance I’d likely need to get a new GPU, potentially a new motherboard, which all seems a bit terrifying.
This is definitely the part where I don’t want to jump too quickly into buying the wrong parts and jeopardising a fairly comfortable setup that I’ve got, so would love any advice on,
- What’s the best overall suggestions for boosting performance, is there anywhere my computer would be bottlenecking? Maybe I have shitty ram or should just get a new GPU?
- If upgrading the CPU, would I need to get a new motherboard?
- And if so, with my current setup, is there any fairly simple straight forward step I can take to ensure a simple new setup? Such as buying a motherboard and CPU that would be fairly compatible with my setup already or at least in my wheelhouse.
- Is it even worth the hassle? I like to be able to dual boot Windows/Mac, but given Mac chip improvement lately I could pivot to purchasing a basic Mac for my work/home then just pushing my PC as a Windows-only machine.

BIOS update and now wont boot
Mojave. Gigabyte X570 Aourus Master. 3950x. Vega 64. BIOS F11.
I have run Mojave with no issues on this for years. I recently got a 5950x to upgrade CPU. When I installed it, the board threw error codes and I learned I needed F30 or later to run 5000 series CPUs. I put the 3950x back in and updated the BIOS to F35. Update was successful. I then changed the applicable BIOS settings back to being Hackintosh friendly. (I THINK I got them all.) The boot is now freezing at "EndRandomSeed."

I am trying to open my config.plist in propertree (Its been over 3 years since I've done any of this so Im a little fuzzy) to check the SetVirtualMap quirk.
However, when I try to open the plist file I get the following error. "_PlistParser._init_() got an unexpected keyword argument 'use_builtin_types'"
Any help would be appreciated. This is my main machine that I do work on.
EDIT - I used the sanity checker to view config.plist and SetVirtualMap is YES so Im assuming I need to start with disabling it. Still need advice on opening the file to edit it.
EDIT 2 - I got a newer version of propertree and was able to alter the config.plist file. The boot got past EndRandomSeed but is now stuck at "FakeSMC v6.26-357-gceb835ea. 1800 Copyright 20"
EDIT 3 - Got newest FakeSMC ( I assume its newest) from TonyMac86. Got past Fake SMC freeze but now getting stuck at PCI Configuration Begin. Tried putting Lilu at top of kexts in config.plist, but then I got stuck at "FakeSM"
