What is the best way to make a HackBook last longer on MacOS?
I have a Dell Latitude 6430 running MacOS Mojave currently (Upgrade is in progress, without any luck atm) and I want to stretch it's current 2-3 hour of battery life further if possible, and that's why I would be really interested in your experiences.

Mac os installer says (the recovery server could not be contacted)
So i boot into the macOS high sierra installer and when I click continue it gives me a error message that says "the recovery server could not be contacted"

My laptop is stuck here pt. 2. Now I can get to an apple logo for 20 secs and then it reboots. I use the latest OC and I use a Dell Latitude E6430 with the intention to put Monterey onto it. My specs will be in the comments. Thank you in advance!

I'm new to this subreddit and I wanted to see if any one could help me with an issue I'm having with my Hackintosh build:
CPU: i7 11700K
GPU: MSI RX580
RAM: Teamgroup 32GB 2x16GB
Motherboard/Laptop model: Gigabyte Z590i Vision D

* What part I got an issue with:
I was able to get an install of Mac OS on the computer. I can see all the set-up process, choose my hard drive and generally get it installed after a few reboots. However, after it reaches the "Welcome" screen, I only see a black screen with my cursor on it. I know Mac OS installed, because the audio descriptor helper can be heard from my speakers. I'm not sure where the issue is as I can boot into the recovery and still see picture with no problems. Can anyone help me understand what I'm doing wrong? Below is my EFI that I'm using.

Magic mouse laggy

Stange Bug in Apple TV app
Good Morning Folks!
today i found a strange glitch with Apple TV App, i'm running Macos 13.6.1 with an RX 6800.
can you please check with me?
1 - open Apple TV app
2 - click opn any film o series
3 - wait for the trailer to start
4 - activate audio and maximize the video
5 - you showld see some fast artiufacts especialy if you try to change the output of the audio

the artifacts are quick and they are gone (red screen, static sqaures)

any tips ? does it happen to you also ?

I can do all kinds of remaps in VoodooPS2Keyboard, but these two send extra Alt/Ctrl keypresses. Apparently kext has some logic for them that executes even before remapping.

Hello, I'm looking to Hackintosh my Matebook D15. But I came across some Posts that claim the Audio doesnt work which made me try the new way with Proxmox (didnt went well because using Proxmox with Wifi is almost impossible). Some people claimed that it will work with Ventura but I wanted to ask if it would work with Sonoma

Best computer parts for a hackintosh running macOS 14 Sonoma
I installed macOS catalina on a second laptop as a test. I'm saving for a gaming PC. And now I plan to dual boot Windows and Hackintosh.
So my question is which parts are best for a hackintosh? (macos sonoma) And then preferably parts where you can easily get it working. Audio should work on my second laptop, but I was unable to do so. I would like a sound card that actually works straight away. I still find adjusting the config.plist quite difficult. Although I do get the basic things done.
What I want in my computer:
An Intel processor
All standard things such as graphics card etc
DVD player for games. (I have a lot of old games on dvd-rom)
Wifi card
My budget is €1000, but I can possibly increase it to €1500. I know that I can look at the hardware list to see what is supported, but I just want to be sure because it is quite a lot of money.

Extracting the OS
how do I extract the .app folder from the .pkg installation file
I don’t have access to a mac right now, all I have is the macos recovery!
Extracting it with the terminal shows weird file and folders and when I dig up even more, the more random it gets
So how do I do this
In a mac, all I have to do is installing the pkg, and I’ll get the .app in the Applications
