If you have multiple GPUs can you use one to do the work while keeping your monitor connected to the other?
So im curious if this is something that can be done on macOS. If I add a second GPU can I set that one to be used as the “primary”, while keeping my monitor connected to the first card?
I currently have a AMD Radeon Pro W5700. It’s a great GPU but I wanted to upgrade to something with 16GB of VRAM. The Radeon Pro WX9100 seems to be a great option but for $600-800 used thats out of my price range.
I took a chance and bought a broken WX9100, unfortunately I had no luck in repairing it, thankfully it wasn’t expensive. After doing some reading I learned that a Radeon Instinct MI25 can be flashed to a WX9100 and I managed to snag one for $70!!
Im going to transplant the hardware from the WX9100 onto the MI25 since they don’t have fans and are ugly as most are meant for rack-mount servers. The one remaining downside is the MI25 only has 1 display port.
TLDR. Can I add a WX9100 as a second GPU and use it as the “primary” GPU, while keeping my monitor connected to my W5700?

Black Friday build for gaming that will stand the test of time?
I’m thinking about upgrading my 2014 MBP to an Air today, and supplementing it with a gaming rig. The main purpose would be for more intense work, gaming, streaming, etc. First off, is this wise? I'm thinking 16GB on the air + 512 GB SSD. Which matches the current specs of my maxed out 2014 MBP. Should I upgrade the 16gb to 24gb RAM or is that mostly going to be pointless?
Given black friday is coming up, do we have any model builds lying around? The buyers guide is pretty complex and it seems lots of parts can have sudden drawbacks or lose support so I’m looking for something that should be relatively stable. I have coding experience so I don’t mind getting into the terminal but minimal experience with hardware.

Install MacOS Ventura
Hello everyone, I have this laptop, a Lenovo IdeaPad L340, with the following specifications:
- i5 9300HF
- GTX 1650 4GB
- 500GB M.2
- 16GB RAM.
I would like to install MacOS Ventura or Sonoma on it, but being a novice, I'm not sure where to start. I tried installing it on a virtual machine, but I kept getting the error "this system was automatically rebooted after panic." I'm concerned the same might happen when I try to install it directly on the laptop. Could someone guide me on what to do? If you need more information, feel free to ask, and thanks in advance!

Can I use a micro SD card as an installation medium?
I just wanna know if it’s an alternative because I want to use Windows on laptop alongside macOS and as Windows is pre-installed, I don’t want to erase my whole disk.

FileVault log in screen has weird and glitchy graphics.
I used opencore and followed the guide in order to setup FileVault.
It works fine but selecting users or moving graphics are glitchy and the battery indicator and brightness doesn’t work and only works after log in.
Any fixes?

Hello, I am trying to get Ideneb installed but i just figured out that rufus doesnt support it and i couldnt find any that does (from my search ig) So does anyone know a tool that allows me to flash OS X iso (ideneb) onto a 16GB Pendrive (Im on windows, not on mac or linux)

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I'm a beginner in this matter. Any help is welcome, and if you need more information to assist me, feel free to ask. For a few days, I've been trying to install MacOS Ventura on my laptop.
I downloaded the OS from the internet, and for creating virtual machines, I use VirtualBox. My Lenovo laptop has the following specifications:
\-Intel i5-9300HF
\-16GB of RAM
\-GTX 1650 with 4GB
\-500GB M.2 SSD.
In my virtual machine, I provided the following specifications as shown in the photo.
In short, when I start the virtual machine, I always encounter the following message after a multitude of lines: "This system was automatically rebooted after Panic." Subsequently, the installation menu appears, and I proceed with the installation. Everything seems to be going well, but when there are approximately 12/14 minutes left, it returns again with the same multitude of code and again displays "This system was automatically rebooted after Panic." After that, a gray screen with the Apple logo and a loading bar appears, loads for a while, and then goes into a loop with the lines of code and the error message "This system was automatically rebooted after Panic." What can I do?

Where to check booting logs or verbose
I am trying Opencore with High Sierra in a Haswell i3. I'm getting stuck after the text part and I can see a white screen with a cursor at the left top corner. The cursor doesn't move.
Can someone point me to where can I check what's going wrong of whether I can set a log or more verbose options so I can see where the problem is?

Hello r/hackintosh! I am currently trying to 'Hackintosh' my Dell Latitude 7490. I have been following the OpenCore guide. I would use the troubleshooting section but I'm not even 100% sure what my problem is. Which is why I'm going to explain it here.. So I've built the EFI (to the best of my abilities) I've made the PList and configured my drivers. (I think). However when I try to boot it gives me the option of Windows and thats it, in the OpenCore bootloader. Now I'm sure there is a kajillion ways this could happen so I will attach images if requested.

Need Help with OpenCore Hackintosh Ventura Dual Boot Installation Issue
Hey everyone,
I'm encountering a problem while attempting to install OpenCore Hackintosh Ventura alongside my Windows OS. Here's a rundown of the issue:
Once I boot into OpenCore and select "Install macOS," instead of proceeding with the macOS installation, my screen displays random commands. After a few minutes, the PC restarts, and it boots back into OpenCore. In the tutorial video I followed (link below), after selecting "Install macOS," the Mac OS installation setup starts, which isn't happening in my case.

But no coverage info or apple support in the apple support app for mac
Handoff works
Ios widgets on desktop works
BUT the problem➡️➡️➡️

Ie. Focus mode and screen time share across devices not working
FaceTime and iMessage no longer receiving or sending calls or messages
Find my mac does not refresh location

Lion on early 2006 15'' Macbook?
Hey guys! I was wondering if it would be possible to run MacOS Lion on an Early 2006 15'' MBP...
Apple only supports Snow Leopard on that machine, but I once heard dosdude talking about hackintoshing Lion onto those Macbooks... I am not sure if it would be possible, because the Core Duo in that Mac is x32 while Lion is x64 (I think). I also tried to find articles, that would tell me if it's possible or not, but found pretty much nothing...

Rx 580 2048sp Chinese edition
Hello guys I bought a new gpu to replace my unsupported hd 7900 and I traded it in for with a friend it was supposed to be the rx 580 but it’s actually rx 580 2048sp 8gb. I couldn’t get it to work in Sonoma I read a bit online and apparently I have to flash a bios to it using atiflash utility. Can anybody provide me with a guide or a file to flash? It’s my first time doing such stuff and I’m scared of breaking the gpu.

Which macOS & EFI is best for Sony VGN AR Series laptop? (10.7-10.11)
Hi, I have an old 17 inch Sony Vaio VGN AR690U laptop and I want to use it for hackintosh purposes. I can accept any macOS version between 10.7-10.11 since it has a merom CPU. It also has a revised 8600M GT chip inside of the laptop. Specs are similar to 2007-2008 MacBook Pro 3,1 & 4,1 so I wanna get macOS running on it regardless which version it is. If I can run, how can I make a proper EFI for this laptop?
Here are the specs : Sony Vaio VGN AR690U 17.3
Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 (it can't run newer than 10.12)
4 GB 800MHz DDR2 (still fine)

Help with MacOS Catalina (10.15.7) Installer for Core 2 Duo E8400
Hi there,
I had an old HP Compaq dc7900 Ultra-Slim lying around and wanted to put MacOS (Catalina 10.15.7) on it but I just can't seem to quite understand how to get the installer files working and make up the EFI folder.
I'm currently using a Windows machine to make the installer since I don't have access to a Mac, the system I'm trying to put MacOS on has a Core 2 Duo E8400 with 4GB of DDR2 and it's only using an igpu.
Any help would be much appreciated.

MacOS on XPS 15 for app development
I want to start getting into developing IOS apps, but I have an XPS 15 since I need a Windows computer for college. I've tried running MacOS in a virtual machine, but couldn't get it to work. Would hackintosh be a better option, or is there an easier way I could run MacOS on windows.

ISO: 32 bit Mojave laptop build
The laptop I was going To put Mojave on is 64 bit. I need a laptop that can run 32 bit. It can run both but it HAS to run 32. Most of the recommendations I’m seeing for laptops to buy are 64 only though. Anyone have any recommendations, preferably one with a thorough guide & proven success?
