Trying to install Ventura from Big Sur
Im kind of losing my mind here. Things don't really seem to be making any sense as to why I can't get into the installer.

Based on everything I've read, my opencore EFI config that I use to boot my Big Sur install should still be able to boot me into a Ventura installer, or even a monterey installer. Yet for the life of me I can't get this to happen.

I even have an updated EFI I've made where I've replaced whatevergreen with nootrx, as that is my WHOLE point in upgrading to ventura. I have an RX 6700XT and the only way for me to get full acceleration is to upgrade to a newer version of MacOS.

I've uploaded both EFIs along with a picture of the errors I'm seeing trying to boot into the ventura installer. I made the installer inside my Big Sur install, so it's a complete installer not a recovery installer.

Getac computers?
I’m looking at the company Getac that makes rugged computers, and they run windows. I found one on eBay that doesn’t have an OS, hard drive, caddy, etc etc. what are my odds of getting macOS X into it? I’m not going to be able to get a Getac unless I’m able to get macOS onto it.

Can i run a Hackintosh VM on my homelab and stream it to my pc ?
I dont really know how to phrase this question. So i have to a bit afield to explain it.
I know that i can run e.g. home assistant on my server and then from my desktop pc i just go into the browser and have the whole interface of Home Assistant and can work on it from there.
Is something like this possible with a VM of MacOS ? So that i run it on my server but use it from my Desktop PC ?

Regarding of updating to Sonoma
Im a bit out of the loop regarding Sonoma on hackintosh. Will updating it work without much issues if I updated all kexts with opencore configurator, or are there any important drivers that aren't updated yet? Thank you!

Can't Kernel > Block AppleGFXHDA
Hi, I'm getting random GPURestarts with my Vega 64 on Monterey, so I blocked com.apple.driver.AppleGFXHDA in OpenCore's Kernel > Block, but it's still loading!
I tried resetting NVRAM. SIP is enabled.
Could another kext be forcing it to load e.g. WhateverGreen (v1.6.6), or one of these boot args e.g. alcid=11?

i have a ThinkPad T430 currently running Windows 10 Pro, horever i recently
got bored of Windows and Ubuntu and want to run macOS on this

HD 4000
8GB RAM
120 / 256 GB SSD
Some intel network card (i know that wifi wont work)
i'd idealy dualboot these OSes as i need windows for on-the-go work while i can use MacOS at home
No wifi insnt a problem at home as i have Ethernet (hopefuly that works) Can i use wired tethering via an iPhone?

lossless streaming/downloads on Apple Music? (iGPU UHD630)
I've run across a few posts that mention DRM issues, but none that definitively answer the question: is it possible to get Apple Music lossless streaming and/or downloads to play? "High Quality AAC" works fine for both streaming & downloading, but Lossless (and Hi-Res Lossless) fails for both. I've disabled Atmos, but that doesn't help.
I'm on an 9900k with iGPU UHD630 and no external GPU, on Ventura 13.6.1, using iMac 2019 system ID. I'm still on OpenCore 0.8.4 (!) because it has been stable & everything I needed was working (Apple ID, AirDrop, Continuity, Handoff). So I haven't felt the need to upgrade yet, but I'm happy to if there's a fix in later versions.
(I've confirmed that Apple TV also doesn't work right. I don't care about that, but I'm mentioning it because others' posts seem to connect this with the Apple Music Lossless problem. Anyway please let me know if you have information specific to getting Apple Music Lossless working, even if it doesn't fix Apple TV.)

Mac graphics card in PC
Hello all, I am trying to find out if a mac graphics card (looks like a reference rx580) pulled from a real mac pro will work in pc motherboard for hackintosh use (gigabyte b75m-d3h).
I know mac cards would not pass POST once upon a time but would like to confirm. Trying to upgrade my ivy bridge system to Monterey from Mojave with a gtx770.

Works well with NootedRed. dGPU is disabled with -wegnoegpu. I didn't have to pull out my dGPU to install the system.
Bluetooth don't work. There are drivers for my Bluetooth USB adapter only for Windows.
Adobe programs work well, without crashes. Chromium-based browsers cannot be used without enabling GPU Rasterization. Apple TV isn't working (black screen when video is turned on).
I don't have any lags, everything works fine.

Hey guys, I need a little help with my build I think...
Soooo, I recently installed a 3rd M.2 ssd in my hackintosh and since my motherboard ran out of M.2 slots I used a PCIE adapter for it.
It worked fine for a few weeks (my build is about 2 years old, worked flawless before installing the last M.2 btw) but for a while now I've been having complete freezes of my system when I don't touch it long enough, which also results in Windows bugging out (dual boot) and I have to turn my PSU off for like 5min to get everything working after.
The reason at least for suspecting it's the last M.2 added via PCIE is because of the error that I get when I reboot my hackintosh, which is pasted below this.

Disabling the GPU
Hello, I'm a beginner in hackintosh. The question is, is it safety to disable the GPU and use only iGPU? Such a need appeared because there are problems with the offline installer and for my video card the highest possible OS is high Sierra, and as far as I know, Apple has disabled the possibility of online recovery in high Sierra. Can't access iCloud after fresh install of Sonoma14.0
After using the OCLP method to get WiFi back, I decided to do a clean install as some of my work links and browsers lost functions after the OCLP hack. Install was fine, but after entering my personal data, I waspresented with " unable to communicate with server" error...so I skipped that portion and entered name and code, then tried app store. I was able to log in and also into iTunes, but iCloud was missing from internet accounts, and after againentering my personal info, I get the same message, or the verify window stays open and hangs. alled Apple support, no help. Any clues before I go back to Venture or reinstall?

The title might mislead a little bit but, I have USB but it only makes my mouse work but nothing else such as pen drives or anything related to data transfer (but mouse).
I don't know why this is happening, due to this I cannot add my EFI to the drive and I don't wanna do that right now either before fixing this issue.
Also I have no sound.
i used the same EFI as I did with Big Sur and Sound + USB both worked flawlessly with Big Sur, but not with Sonoma. All I did was use SATA-unsupported.kext to make my drive work, it installed successfully.
It at first did not have backlight but a restart fixed that.
All things work besides it but sound and USB drives. Any idea of what could be wrong?

Anyone flip cfglock on Asus prime z790-a?
Like the title asks. Has anyone managed to turn cfglock off on an Asus prime z790-a motherboard?
I’ve tried what seems like a half dozen or more methods using a multitude of .efi files/methods with no success.
It was no problem with my Asus z690 board.
I have no issues finding what I need to change, just that it always fails. The bios is supposed to be unlocked based on the tests.
I can boot using the quirks but I’m hoping for a more organic build if possible.

Installation problems on ventura
I booted into the installer and when I click reinstall MacOS Ventura it says I don't have internet. I have ethernet and IntelMausi and I have an intel l217-LM so it should be supported. I even tried HoRNDIS and tried connecting my phone but it did not work. Can someone help?

wifi only works on recovery menu
I downgraded to macOS Catalina, on the installer WIFI worked fine but then on the actual OS it doesn't work, it only works if i boot onto recovery os
Anyone knows how to fix?

MacOS Sonoma working on Haswell with dGPU. Used Mac Pro 2017 SMBIOS. All USB Ports (2.0 and 3.0) working, Audio works, WIFI and Bluetooth Works. Feels relatively snappy despite the roughly 10 year old CPU and basic GPU. Dont seem to have any problems with DRM. Used the opencore guide along with some assistance from OCAT.
Got it dual booting with Windows 11 from within Opencore too which works well.
Only issue is that so far Sonoma 14.1 update isnt showing despite running the terminal command to force the updates to refresh.

Mobo: Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4
RAM: ADATA XPG D50 DDR4 3200MHz
SSD: Gigabyte Nvme gen3 2500E 1TB
GPU: Asus Dual RX 6700XT OC edition
So basically since there's no official guide on Alder Lake CPUs I digged around and found this guide.
And although as per my knowledge RX 6700XT is not supported officially (Navi 22), I digged more and found this patch on GitHub.
Should I just go with MacOS Monterey or go with straight up Ventura?

how to access config without MacOS
So I was changing stuff in the config and when i rebooted it gave me an error. I need to change the config again but im not sure how i would access the efi partition. The drive is encrypted and im dual booting with windows
