Machine spontaneously died - doesn't see drives - how screwed am I?
I have a somewhat old but pretty capable Hackintosh, CoffeeLake CPU, plenty of RAM and disk etc. It's been running great for many years (I think I got it when CoffeeLake was new, so I guess it's about six years old now) but out of nowhere it shut itself down the other day and now when I try to start it up, it can't see either of its boot drives, and won't boot at all past the OpenCore startup screen. I'm not really sure what to do - I wasn't planning on replacing this machine quite yet (though perhaps it noticed me browsing Mac Studio pricing and got jealous?) What would you do in this situation?
I feel like my options are -
- Try to figure out what happened, and replace whatever component(s) may have gone bad
- Replace it with a Mac mini or Mac Studio (but this would also mean finding some kind of thunderbolt or usb-c enclosure for the four drives in the hackintosh)

Notebook equivalent to a Macbook air
Hello folks.
I have tried Hackintosh a while ago and I really enjoyed it. The only problem was that I have an AMD CPU what is not too much compatible with MacOs. For example, I can´t use docker or any latest version of a virtualization software. That being said, is there any notebook under 900$/900€ that are equivalent to ta Macbook Air M2/M1 and doesn´t use AMD CPUs ?
The notebook will be used for programming purpose and internet navigation, so no need to have a good GPU.

ProperTree does not create config.plist files correctly at all, Asking for solutions.
ProperTree just doesn't work as you can see in the screenshot, It just misses everything here:

MOTU Soundcard Driver not loading in OC "Could not find registry entry for "IODeviceTree: /product/audio"
Hola,
I could not get my MOTU thunderbolt soundcard to work with OC since big sur (current test on mavericks). (might be the switch from kext -> dext)
Everything works fine with clover under Mojave.
Thunderbolt will work with a different Soundcard (Universal Audio)
I did some intense debugging and found out, that the driver references the card during boot and this fails:

Since i have the complete working IORegistry under mojave i even duplicated the PlatformInfo including the necessary ALC layout id for HDEF.
It all shows under the registry in Mavericks but the driver obviously doesnt load (see stacktrace).

Hi I have a Thinkpad E595 with an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U that has had Arch Linux installed onto it for a couple years. I am a live musician and would like to replace Arch with Mac OS for utility reasons and I'm wondering if the hardware would be compatible. I didn't get any info searching for this particular model. How can I know if I'm currently on Secure Boot?
I want to see if I use Airportitlwm on my Hack, but it requieres Secure Boot to work and Dortania's Guide just says to leave as Default on Monterey. So I wanted to know if my Hack was on Secure Boot to use it instead of Itlwm. But, how can I know this? Is there a way to check if my Hack used Scure Boot so I can choose between the two Kexts?

How do I go about installing MacOS 14 on my configuration? I did try following Dortania's guide, but I wasn't able to get it to boot the installer. The hardest part for me was ACPI, couldn't get my head around it. Please help me out guys, I want to do this properly.

Triple Boot on three drives - Ubuntu drive is not able to boot -
hey,
i installed macOS and windows on two different hard drives and everything is working fine.
I had a third ssd installed for TimeMachine but decided to put Ubuntu on it, so I made an bootable USB stick and the installation went well. My BIOS set the Ubuntu drive as prior boot drive and I could start it without problems and use it.
But after I changed the boot order to start with macOS where Opencore is installed I couldn't boot anymore into Ubuntu. First the disk was called "No Name" and after clicking on the drive this error message in the picture was showing up.

Does someone now what I am doing wrong or how I can fix this?

First Time Help
Hello First hackintosh build and i am having issues on install of Monetrey on the following hardware. when i tried to boot from usb i got stuck on the black background and apple logo and have not had any luck going beyond this initial screen. has been stuck for an hour.
