Thinkpad E595
Hi I have a Thinkpad E595 with an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U that has had Arch Linux installed onto it for a couple years. I am a live musician and would like to replace Arch with Mac OS for utility reasons and I'm wondering if the hardware would be compatible. I didn't get any info searching for this particular model. Does anyone know whether it would be a good idea to try?

Has anyone had any issues with Adobe CC crashing on macOS Sonoma?
I have tried asking in other places and got nothing. I have an actual subscription for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Unfortunately I cant even get the Creative Cloud app to load so I can install them.
When I launch the CC App I see the Cloud logo with the changing colors for about 5-10 seconds along with a dark grey CC icon in my menu bar. After that the app just disappears with no warning including the menubar icon.
I've tried removing CC with the Adobe removal tool and reinstalling, and still nothing.
I have never had an issue like this before whether its a hackintosh, OCLP, or actual supported Mac.

A little bit of assistance needed in adding an entry to 'DeviceProperties' (XML syntax check)
Hi all,

I have a build that's gone well, and for the first time I've followed the Dortania guide from start to finish and learned as I went. Everything works, and I'm just at the point of freezing the build by moving the EFI files to the local disk.
But one thing I wanted to do was tidy a last bit up, by moving the audio setup from boot-args to DeviceProperties. But the syntax of this xml isn't making sense to me, in terms of where I add things, specifically on 'key' and 'add'.
I wondered if someone would take a look at the below and tell me what my syntax should be?
Existing config.plist entry for "Device Properties"
<key>DeviceProperties</key>
<dict>
<key>Add</key>
<dict>
<key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1b,0x0)</key>

<data>AAAwAQ==</data>
</dict>
</dict>
</dict>
<key>Delete</key>

</dict>

<key>DeviceProperties</key>
<dict>
<key>Add</key>
<dict>
<key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1b,0x0)</key>

</dict>
And I need to add in an audio entry for layout 16 (decimal) for the device at:
PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x3)
ProperTree doesn't seem to do this in a way that looks correct.....
(hope this is ok to ask)

Can I use IPad apps on Linux Virtual Mac?
Hi everyone. The only Apple product I own is an IPad. There is a note taking app, Marginnote, that I love and have used for years. They have a desktop version that only runs on MacOS and would really like to be able to use it. It is only for this reason that I would like to make a virtual MacOS system on Ubuntu and log in to the app to edit my notes with the keyboard and mouse and such.
Will I be able to log in using my Apple ID to my account on this virtual device? Do I even have the right account or is there some "Mac" specific account I don't have? If I can log in, is it risky as Apple will detect the log in?

Thank you.

Which of the guides on the sidebar you used:
Dortania's OpenCore Install Guide. And did not work. I ended up using an EFI from a guy on GitHub. I cannot link it here as per rules prohibition, but i will gladly provide it, or even my own, via PM if asked.

What's working, and what isn't working:
GPU: AMD RX6600 is fully supported by Apple. Check this for further information on the support for the RX6600 on macOS. You should add this in boot-args:
agdpmod=pikera
Hardware sensors: One thing to take into consideration are the hardware sensors, if you like to monitor stuff using apps like iStatica or iStat Menus. VirtualSMC seems to lack support for the sensors on this system. After looking for a solution I got to a fork of FakeSMC that has the perfect support for this hardware: FakeSMC3 from CloverHackyColor. I find it very stable and provides a lot more sensors to monitor temperatures.But I cannot guarantee its stability and performance since a lot of people on the community say VirtualSMC is superior. This just works for me, guys. Feel free to try what is best for you.
Sleep: I completely disabled sleep, since I don't need it on this desktop setup, and I don't completely understand how sleep works. So to get it working means a lot of work for something I don't need.
Audio: The layout ID for the on-board audio card is 5. I suggest to check here. I use this in boot-args:
alcid=1
Facetime and Messages: both work fine. I didn't need to do anything. Fired the apps, set them up, and everything just works.
Bluetooth: Here it becomes a bit tricky. Apple dropped support for some bluetooth devices with Monterey. My USB dongle "CSR 4.0 Bluetooth USB card (Qualcomm/Cambridge Silicon Radio CSR8510)" . To get it working on Sonoma follow this guide, and this comment is VERY IMPORTANT.
Turbo Boost: It seems that for enabling turbo boost, the BIOS needs to be modified. I haven't try this, but there is a software called
Compatibility check for first timer

The laptop won't wake after a relatively long sleep.
Greetings.
When the laptop remains asleep for a long time, and I come to the computer to wake it up after a while, I see that the fans are spinning, then I lift the lid slightly - so that the computer does not detect the lid lift input: The keyboard lights are on. When I lift the cover in a way that the computer can detect, the screen does not light up (the screen is completely dark), and even if I press keys on the keyboard in a way that MacOS would give a warning, it does not provide a warning sound (I think it is still in sleep). So I have to hold the power button (to turn it off) and press it again (to turn it on).
I am using OpenCore 0.9.5 on Ventura.

MSI Leopard GL75 10SFK
Hello guys !

Today, i'm here to share my great success on a 10th gen intel gaming laptop with Ventura.
First of all, this is the config :

[CPU\](Intel Core I7-10750H 6c/12t 2.6ghz/5ghz)
[Laptop Model\](MSI GL75 Leopard 10SFK)
[RAM\](NoName 2x16GB DDR4 3200Mhz)
[Storage\](Kingston SSD NVME 240Gb)
[Storage\](NoName SSD 500Go SATA)
[iGPU\](Intel UHD630 for 10th gen processor)
[dGPU\](Nvidia GeForce RTX2060 | Disabled)
[Keyboard\](USB SteelSeries)
[Trackpad\](Standard I2C Trackpad)
[Ethernet\](Realtek RTL8111h)
[WiFI and BlueTooth\](Intel WiFi 6 AX201)
[SMBIOS\](MacbookPro16,2)
[OS\](MacOS 13.4 Ventura)

Everything (except the unsupported dGPU and AirDrop that i don't use) is working so far
I use a DockingStation with displaylink via USB-A 3.0 because the HDMI is wired to the dGPU
I mainly followed Dortania guide for comet lake as everthing worked first try and the setup guide for every kext that i used.
This build will mainly be used for sysadmin and website dev

Last personal hackintosh on its way out. Potential hardware failure. Not sure where to go from here.
First.. A little bit of background. I’ve put together over 40 hackintoshes in my life. Mostly around the snow leopard - mavericks era. I currently have my last personal hackintosh on its last legs. It is showing possible signs of hardware failure and I’m looking for guidance as to where to go from here. My experience was exclusively with clover and I never familiarized myself with OpenCore or port mapping.
My current rig:
macOS Catalina 10.15.7
Clover 5123
Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 (F15)
1TB 970 EVO nvme
i7-8700K @ 5GHz - all core
CryoRig H7 cooler
AMD Radeon VII 16GB HMB2
64GB DDR4-3200 (4x16 G.Skill)
ASUS PCE-AC68 AC1900 wifi card
EVGA 850 Gold PSU
~12 case fans
Also a 1TB 970 EVO plus with Win11
Both operating systems are experiencing instability and hard crashes.
My primary use case:
Mostly file management daily; ingesting, copying, sorting photo and video files.
Occasional video editing of H.264 1080p60 4:2:2 10bit video.
Common photo editing of 33MP uncompressed RAW .ARW files.
All editing done within the Adobe creative suite.
I WILL NOT be working with 4K video or RAW video in the near future.
My upmost priority is performance and stability. Secondary perks would be portability / power efficiency.
Considerations for the next step (supposing I cannot salvage my current system) :
I am rather unwilling to learn OpenCore but I am completely open to paying one of the established Ukrainian businesses to walk me through a complete personal install myself
2 I have no hands on experience with apple silicon performance 2
I’m juggling these four options.
1.) $1,649 M2 Pro Mini
-12/19/16 cores
-16GB RAM
-1TB SSD
2.) $1,759 15” M2 Pro Air
-8/10/16 cores
-16GB RAM
-1TB SSD
3.) $2,029 14” M2 Pro MacBook Pro
-10/16/16 cores
-16GB RAM
-1TB SSD
4.) ~$1,550 Hackintosh
-i7-13700K (16 core)
-Whichever AIO cpu cooler
-ASUS TUF Z690 plus WiFi
-32GB RAM (G.Skill Flare 2x16GB DDR5-6000)
-2TB Samsung 990 pro nvme
-PowerColor AMD 6800XT
-Whatever phanteks case and fans
-Corsair RM850X
If my researching leads me to believe correctly… this hackintosh may not necessarily be a “golden build” however there shouldn’t be any issues with hardware compatibility and I should theoretically be able to achieve a stable and fully functional Sonoma build.
I already have a monstrous windows PC for recreational things such as gaming.
In this situation, which option would you go for?
Is apple silicon so good that I can forego the raw power of a hackintosh in favor of absolute longevity / official hardware support?
Or will I miss out on that Intel / Radeon power?
Or are the M2 options I listed above overkill for my purposes?
Thanks in advance to anyone who took the time to read and offer input.
please note that all listed prices are in USD and all parts mentioned are in stock and readily available for purchasing.
