iMovie OSX Catalina
Hi All, Hope you can forgive a possibly newbie question. I never was much in Video editing but now I have a job where I need to create split screens and I am no where in the universe of video editors. Looking at tutorials I realized that iMovie is Waaaaay simpler and easier to use than anything else that I have seen. Unfortunately, I have no money and need to use my 2012 MBP running Catalina. App Store will not allow me to D/L. Is there any reliable source where I could get a version of iMovie that is compatible with Catalina?

DisplayPort is Not Working in Sonoma 14.1
Hello dear Hackintosher‘s!
My Current Hardware is following:
Lifebook E556
Intel Core i5-6200U
Intel HD Graphics 520
8GB DDR4 RAM.
Whenever i put my HDMI Cable using my HDMI to DP Adapter because my Device doesnt have a HDMI Port.
If its in, the Screen goes Black and turns on again but my Other Display doesnt see any Signal.
it would be Extremely Helpful if anyone can give me Advice, what to do.

Bluetooth dongle with Ventura or sonoma?
Hey there. I have a Ryzen 7000 series with a Mediatek wifi/BT which definitely wont work with the hackintosh. I could change the onboard card on my MSI board but it's way way too much hassle. I dont need wifi (I'm wired) so just need bluetooth. USB dongle would be way to go for me.
Any recommendation for USB BT dongle?

Happy with my i5 12400F 6650XT ventura build going 2 weeks with no issues!
I'm using this for mobile, web and ai chatbot development and haven't encountered major issues so far. Everything is smooth as a butter. I haven't really used my macbook air for programming now after completing this build. Just for meetings. CPU's average temp is 30c, GPU's temp is 40-45c. I think my next upgrade would be the ram. Looks like i'm gonna be needing 32gb soon

(ASRock OC Formula) RX 6900 XT (XTXH) Black screen until macOS - Any ideas?
Hello everyone, I just upgraded my trusty RX 580 to a nice deal 6900xtx(h), the ASRock OC Formula.
Of course because of it being an XTXH model, I had to add SSDT-BRG0, and spoof my device-id to a regular 6900xtx.
All of that went fine, the machine works, accelerates, and is otherwise normal. However, I was curious if there was any way to preserve the boot process. As it stands, the machine loads till a certain point past the apple logo, then drops all displays. It doesn't restore the image until a good few seconds past macOS loading in completely, my guess is this is standard for a "non-supported" gpu, the driver needs to load completely before displays can be re-initialized. This could be a pain for diagnostics or just general presentation, but isn't critical to fix.
I'm running macOS Sonoma 14.0

and obviously -- ASRock OC Formula RX 6900 XT
If anyone has had success in preserving or restoring "native boot" screen support with an XTXH model, how did you do it? Did you rely on a flash instead of a spoof? or is there something that can be done that I'm not seeing?
Also if you guys need any more information on my hack, let me know. Don't want to clutter this with unnecessary info.

Graphics problem
After installing macos ventura
The graphics are laggy and the video is not working too, all my kext are there and boot-args have all values in it.
Secondly, my Bluetooth and wifi isn’t working too ,
The kext are there but no network is showing in wifi also no audio

Installing High Sierra on an Alienware Alpha r2
I have an extra m.2 nvme ssd and I wanted to put a compatible Mac OS on it:
Specs:
Nvidia Gtx 960
Intel i7 6… at 2.something ghz
Skylake motherboard
Step one:
I researched to find that High Sierra 10.13.6 was my best best for graphics card and cpu compatibility
Step two:
I fully completed the Opencore usb setup process and attempted to install Mac OS
Problem:
My the running script in the start up of hakcintosh always freezes at something along the lines of “enabling legacy matcher”
I am away from pc atm, but any help is appreciated :)

Hackintoshing MSI Mag Mortar B650m question
I have this board paired with a ryzen 7900 and a RX6800xt.
My ethernet is a 2.5 gbps port, and my wireless is a Wifi6e-I-dont-know-what-chip-nor-do-I-know-what-BT-chip-I-have.
Does anyone know if my ethernet will work? What about bluetooth and wifi?

Hi! im trying to install ventura by recoevry image provide by macrecovery,py,
i followed the dortania guide aswell the nooted red guide, a
nd i cant go into installer - sometimes after clicking the efi external dmg in opencore boot menu it shows me iopci configuration waittime is 900 and then black screen is shown,
and sometimes it ''boots'' to prohibited logo with text ''support,apple.com/mac/startup''

I am looking for an Efi for a dell latitude 5290 - 2 in 1. I have tried creating one and was not able to install even Catalina. Got to internet recovery, installed and then when it did a reboot, the Mac OS installer didn’t show. It showed up on another version of open core, but of course that version wouldn’t boot the installer.

GPU-Disable help
Before reading here are the guides I've spent 6 hours on trying to make things work but just isn't.

The graphic card I want to disable is the RTX 3070 using the SSDT method.

I have made 2 different SSDT-DISABLE-GPU.aml files and successfully compiled them. The one you see in the image was using the BIOS device name since when I remove #ACPI from the Location name it just becomes the BIOS device name's version. The second one was the NVidia's BIOS device name. Both of them did not work.

I tried the -wegnogpu boot-args and that didn't work. I plugged in the DP cable to the AMD card and it just wouldn't load but I noticed when I plugged it into the NVidia card, it was loading SOOO slow.
I tried using propertree to get the "disable-gpu" method to work and used OpenCoreConfigurator to make sure it appears in Deviceproperties which it did but having the display port cable plugged into the AMD card after restarting results in the same issues as the other methods which result in no progress in the loading bar when the display port cable is plugged into the AMD card. However, having the NVidia card using the boot-args method and "disable-gpu" method makes the loading bar get stuck half way when the DP cable is plugged into the NVidia gpu, the SSDT method still allows me to boot into macOS however I don't get display options or hardware acceleration because NVidia is unsupported.

I am aware that NVidia cards are not supported on macOS, I've put my 3070 on sale so I can eventually get the XFX 6900 XT but in the meantime the RTX 3070 is a stronger card compared to the RX 580 so I'm using that on windows. It gets really frustrating having to unplug my NVidia card just to use macOS which is why I'm trying to get the GPU disabler stuff working until I can find a buyer for my GPU. I apologize if my grammar is horrible, I'm dyslexic and sometimes I can miss things even after proof reading.

Proxmox VM hackintosh freezes and then reboots

When the VM boots up after 1-2 minutes it freezes and then reboots.

macOS Sonoma Internet Recovery Install
As many of you may have noticed, Dortania’s Internet Recovery Install guide hasn’t been yet updated in terms of downloading Sonoma BaseSystem.dmg
Actually, after looking at /System/Library/CoreServices/PlatformSupport.plist I found out the board-id that supported macOS Sonoma.
Plus, I double checked on OpenCorePkg latest commits (link) and confirmed that Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94 board-id works.
So using macrecovery.py script, which by default downloads the latest available images, I could download and next boot Sonoma Internet Recovery Install:python3 macrecovery.py -b Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94 download

Restarts during Sonoma Install - MSI Pro Z790-a / 13700k / 5700 XT
I built a Hackintosh Successfully about 5 years ago using Clover. Needed a more powerful machine so I thought no problem. Using opencore now. Tried the vanilla guide and had a bunch of problems even getting to the bootloader. After a lot of troubleshooting and switching to a USB 2.0 drive I can get the bootloader up but have had trouble installing. I decided to use a prebuilt EFI from nakquada. I can at least get the installer moving along with that. Can anyone give any advice how to continue?

How do you upgrade your hackintoshes without killing the computer?
I recently performed a ventura update on an OCLP-hacked MBP 2011 and it predictably killed it. I had hoped that since it was a minor update it would survive but no.
What is the proper technique to update the OS on a (non-OCLP) hackintosh?
And for an OCLP Mac, do I just download a new OS image, and run OCLP again with that new image?
