Renesas USB3 on 11.x+
Sooooo I just realized that my USB3.0 ports are not being detected on this P67 sandybridge running on Big Sur (I haven't used them in years, it's been since like Mojave I think).
I was trying to get them to work so that I could install Monterey faster via USB3.0 but now I'm seeing that XHCI drivers for Renesas chipsets do not exist as far as I can tell.
Is there a workaround for Renesas chipsets, or is an Intel based PCIE expansion card the only way to continue with USB3.x on this dinosaur board?
(Yes, all my ports are mapped correctly. I've done this several times on another hackintosh system I have here).

Can anybody help read the Kernel crash log for me?
I've been hackintoshing for years. I've built at least three hacks from scratch. But my current dual-boot hackintosh is crashing often and at seemingly random times, and I'm at a loss to diagnose the problem. The crashes are sudden, and usually it's an instant reboot, kind of like it's a PSU problem. (Although I *never* get this kind of crash on the same computer running Windows.) Sometimes, though, it's a slow crash where I just can't quit any programs, and force quit doesn't help. The only way I can restart in this instance is to go to the terminal and type:
sudo shutdown -r now
Some basic details:
* Mobo: MSI z390 gaming pro carbon AC
* CPU: i9 9900k
* GPU: Radeon RX 6800xt
* RAM: 32gb
* MacOS NVME drive: WD SN850X 2TB
* Currently running Sonoma 14.0, but this problem happened with Ventura, too.
Here's the list of things I've tried to fix:
* Used to run on a MacPro7,1 SMBIOS. I thought maybe switching to an iMac19,1 SMBIOS might be a little better, since my 9900k is a Coffee Lake CPU, which matches with the iMac19,1. Didn't help, though. (But it does seem to be better utilizing my CPU and GPU in Final Cut Pro --- which might just be my imagination.)
* Used to run a Samsung 980 Pro NVME drive, which had all sorts of problems. Swapping to the Western Digital drive solved my long-boot issues, but not the crashes.
* I have a dual-monitor setup... one is a big ol' ASUS ProArt ultrawide. The other is a super-cheap little HDMI screen I use for just progress bars, and diagnostic windows. That screen is powered by USB and, I found that it would cause crashes when I powered it by the computer's USB ports, so I've plugged it into a separate wall charger and that seemed to help. I think it just didn't play nice with other stuff.
* My best guess at the crashes is still the little HDMI mini-monitor. I used to have it plugged into the GPU alongside the main display. But since I suspected it might be causing crashes there, I moved it to the Motherboard HDMI port. This way, I figured, I'd only be using it in Windows since I have the iGPU turned off in MacOS. But it *seems* like I don't get any crashes if I just unplug the HDMI cable from the mini display in MacOS. Can anybody look at the Kernel Log below and confirm somehow if it's a problem caused by the mini display?
So, here's the complete Kernel Panic log from my most recent crash tonight. None of this means anything to me. Can anybody read it and get some useful info?

Two EFI folders on one USB installer for macOS
I have two hackintosh systems, both running Big Sur. I am going to be updating to Monterey, but I'd like to still have a Big Sur USB installer just incase.
I only have two 32GB USB flash drives and I think it's wasteful to have a total of 4x USB drives to have each version for each system and my other USB drives are being occupied with other important stuff as well.
my EFI folder on both my hackies are around 50MB, and the EFI partition is 200mb.
Can I just rename the EFI folders to something like "EFI_DESKTOP" and "EFI_LAPTOP" and rename the one I wish to use as "EFI" in order to make that the dominant bootable EFI?
Or would it be more advisable to put all the kexts/etc in same EFI folder and have a config.desktop and config.laptop that I rename to config.plist when I want to enable that setup?
Personally, I think the EFI_DESKTOP / EFI_LAPTOP folder method would be my preferred choice. I already leave textfile notes in my EFI folders and partition roots, so it's not like it would be easy to mix or mess up.
Does anyone see a problem with this?

Dualboot+VM, can OC kexts/SSDTs be loaded conditionally?
Hi everyone, I am building a new system and am interested in both running MacOS on bare metal and potentially virtualized as well.
I've run a hackingtosh thinkpad for some years and I have a proxmox server, so I like to think I am relatively competent.
Hardware:
* AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
* ASRock B650E PG RIPTIDE WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
* Gigabyte GAMING OC Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card
* Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6200 CL36 Memory
Storage:
* Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
* 240GB Nvme SSD
* 1TB Nvme SSD
Right now I have Majaro on the 240GB SSD, and windows on the 1TB drive.
I am planning to install MacOs on the 2TB Samsung 990.
Using ReFind to multiboot (it's great)
**Anyway finally to the question:**
If I install MacOS bare metal, and then try to boot the drive virtualized from linux, how do I handle the unneeded Kexts etc?
Is there a mechanism included in OC that would allow me to conditionally load the proper patches? Or to select a given version of OC config file on boot?
Will everything work even if the kexts/patches are loaded but not needed?
Any guidance here would be appreciated.

Macos installer stuck at Apple logo at 30% progress bar
I recently installed hakintosh open core on my laptop. That was mac os Catalina and everything work fine after some troubleshooting.
Now I am installing mac os Ventura on the same laptop it boot into apple recovery and after installation it restart and got apple logo and then it got stuck at Apple logo at about 30% progress bar and "saying less than a minute remaining". It don't happen in Catalina. It's been 2 hour since I am stuck at that screen. Can you please help.

macOS Catalina on HP 15-da0326tu
Originally had an ACPI error which I figured out was due to my RTC being messed up. Fixed by simply patching and adding SSDT-RTCAWAC.aml.
2017+ HP models usually need this patch, if you are stuck on

Also installed Monterey and Ventura before, but decided to downgrade as my external wifi dongle isn't supported in Big Sur above.
Almost everything is working, except wifi and bluetooth due to my internal wifi not being supported. I use an external dongle to make the os useable though.

Thunderbolt 4 mobo or not
I'm planning on a mini ITX build and have very limited options for Intel motherboards with DDR5 support. I'm deciding between Asus B760-i and Asus Z690-i. The first one is around $200-210 while the second one is around $235-260.
The problem with Z690-i is it has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which is very cool if it's not used for Hackintosh. I am newbie when it comes to building these; however, I read the Dortania guide and saw that Thunderbolt support is iffy. Should I go for B760-i with USB 3.2 gen 2x2 or the Z690-i with 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, or get both and figure out which works? Thunderbolt 4 is such a cool thing and I also have the Zikedrive (USB4 enclosure that is capable of more than 3000 MB/s read/write sequential)

Hackintosh cuts off mid boot
I've been switching in-between Windows and Mac. Was fine until now. It shuts off when booting, which it keeps doing. I can't seem to fix it, it does it either way.

Enable wifi in Sonoma with Fenvi T919
For those who have Fenvi T919, below is the process to update Sonoma.
Make sure you have everything working with the Opencore 0.9.5
Step 1: Open config.plist and make the following changes and reboot

I installed macos ventura on my hp elitebook 1030 x360 g2 laptop. The brightness and volume buttons as well as the trackpad, keyboard, speakers microphone, camera and even the usb ports work fine. The only problem is my wifi and bluetooth module and i installed airportlwm. I noticed that in my EFI folder there wasn’t an OC folder so i created one and put all the necessary subfolders, acpis, drivers and kexts inside. Even after putting the correct kexts, they don’t seem to work. Also there isn’t an option to boot to MacOS or Opencore in my boot menu so i boot opencore from my usb installer and i select my macos Drive.
