Stuck at 7MB VRAM on Lenovo U41-70 (Broadwell HD 5500) | macOS Monterey 12.7.6
https://preview.redd.it/jo0v6ibm4cih1.png?width=580&format=png&auto=webp&s=c92766b23861bb293510297ddd06b1a672f1e1e9
Specs
CPU: Intel Core i5-5200U (Broadwell)
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 5500
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz
Storage: 120GB SSD (WDC)
Audio: Realtek ALC235 (Internal speakers not working)
Bootloader: OpenCore 1.0.7 (Updated via OCAT)
OS: Monterey 12.7.6 (Upgraded directly from Big Sur)
The Issue
System boots natively but graphics are hardlocked at 7MB VRAM with zero hardware acceleration.
What Has Been Tried & Verified
1. DeviceProperties (Failed to apply)
Configured under `PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)`:
AAPL,ig-platform-id = 06001616 (02001616 causes fragmented screen horizontal distortion lines)
`device-id` = `16160000`
framebuffer-patch-enable = 1 (Integer)
`framebuffer-stolenmem` = `00003001` (Data)
framebuffer-fbmem = 00000000 (Data)
Result: Completely ignored by Monterey. Still 7MB.
1. Kext Status (All loading properly)
Terminal verification shows kexts load in the correct sequence:
1. `Lilu.kext (1.7.2)`
2. `WhateverGreen.kext (1.7.0)`
3. `IntelGraphicsDVMTFixup.kext (1.2.2)`
4. Hardware BIOS Constraint (The Bottleneck)
Locked Phoenix BIOS: DVMT Pre-allocated memory is locked to 32MB. macOS requires 64MB+ for acceleration.
No Advanced Menu: Hidden menus cannot be unlocked via keyboard shortcuts (`Fn + Tab` X3 or cold boot sequences fail).
Bypass Attempts Failed: Direct terminal commands (sudo nvram 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102:gpu-dvmt-prealloc=%02%00%00%00) combined with OpenCore Booter Quirks (DevirtualiseMmio and ProvideMaxSlide = 3) are ignored after a full NVRAM reset.
Current Boot-Args: -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 alcid=28 -wegnoegpu

stuck on EXITBS:START.
SO it's my first time hackintoshing, and i'm stuck in an error. but before i get to that part, let me provide some info about my build.
so i use OpenCore as the bootloader (i think it's the most common choice) and my hardware is
cpu: intel core i3-9100f.
ram: 4gb.
gpu: nvidia geforce gt710 (gk208) and the macOS version i'd like to install is big sur.
i used OpenCore's macrecovery to download the image, but i didn't use a plist editor. i used python scripts importing plistlib to edit the config.plist file.
also, i used a c:\\hackintosh folder to commit changes to the file so i make sure it passes ocvalidate's tests, and when it does, i copy it to e:\\EFI\\OC\\config.plist (where e is my usb drive)
and here's my log.

Looking for a verified working Bluetooth USB dongle for Hackintosh (Sequoia) — budget-conscious, India-based
Running macOS Sequoia (15.7.8) on a Lenovo IdeaPad S340 14IIL 81VV00JFIN (i3-1005G1). Internal Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 is unsupported, so I need a USB Bluetooth dongle.
What I've already tried and ruled out:
TP-Link UB400 v2.8 (Realtek RTL8761B) + RTLBluetoothFirmware.kext + BlueToolFixup.kext. Confirmed correct VID/PID match (2357:0604), kext loads and selects USB configuration, but never progresses past that — no HCI read, no firmware upload, no controller ever comes up (system_profiler shows no real device, just the SMBIOS placeholder). Ruled out load order, NVRAM blacklist, and a competing driver via ioreg/log inspection. Returned it.
What I'm looking for: a specific product (not just a chipset name) that someone has personally verified works — ideally Broadcom BCM20702 or genuine CSR8510, (any other chip suggestions are much appreciated) since those are native on macOS. I'm in India, where AliExpress is blocked and a lot of "CSR"/"Broadcom" branded generic dongles turn out to be mislabeled or silently revised hardware.
If you're running a Hackintosh in India (or anywhere) and have a dongle you've actually tested working — brand/model, and where you bought it — I'd really appreciate it. Trying to avoid buying another unverified unit on a tight budget.

PSA regarding tools like Hackmate/OpCore Simplfy
We have probably been over this a dozen times, but I'm going to state it again:
If you use tools like Hackmate or OpCore Simplify, we will not assist you with your EFI. We do not care if people use these tools. You are your own person, you may do what you want with your own computer. But we absolutely do not support them in any capacity.
If you lie about using these tools, we will not help you, and you very likely will be ignored or at best heavily scrutinized for future requests.
This applies to both this subreddit and the associated Discord.
I will speak from an experience I just had moments ago with an admin for the Discord for HackMate; they do not take criticism well and do not seem to care about our rules. They have banned several of us for reminding them we do not support their tools and will continue to suggest people manually create their EFIs per this subs rules.
Do with this what you will, but given the group that created Hackmate appears to amount to children in their behaviors, take that as a potential indicator of the quality of the work and support presented from them.

Does the Compaq Presario C300 have any support at all for Hackintosh?
I can barely find any results for it on Google and the only one that I found was a forum post about some issues with the C300 running OS X 10.4.8 Tiger. I tried searching in this subreddit and it only showed other Compaq models, and so did Google.

Success! First time making a Hackintosh from scratch.
Just as the title says, I managed to install Sequoia onto this old worn out laptop that I have here following the Dortania's guide! And sheesh, did it take a lonnnggg while. But most of it was kind of easy to understand, if I'm not going to lie to you.
Anyways, now? I got everything up and running, Wi-Fi via itlwm, audio, bluetooth, brightness, iServices, etc.
The only things that aren't working are iMessage and Find my, which I couldn't care less about.
It took me about 3 days in total to get this up and running.

CPU & GPU: intel Core i5-7440HQ paired with integrated HD 630 graphics.

Photoshop keeps crashing on my Ryzen Hackintosh running Tahoe 26.6.1
Hi guys,
I’m having a problem with Photoshop on my Hackintosh and I’m hoping someone here has a similar setup or knows what could be causing it.
My PC is with:
Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G
RX 550 4GB (Lexa core, spoofed)
24GB RAM (16GB + 8GB)
SATA SSD
Intel AX210 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth
macOS Tahoe 26.6.1
The Hackintosh itself is working pretty well. The RX 550 is working and I haven't had major problems with the system.
The main problem is Adobe Photoshop keeps crashing.
Sometimes it crashes while I'm working, and I'm trying to figure out if this is because of the Ryzen CPU, the Lexa RX 550, Photoshop's GPU acceleration, or maybe Tahoe.
I also tried installing AMDFriend because I read that it can help with Adobe apps on AMD Hackintosh systems:
sudo npm install -g amdfriend
but I get:
npm error code ENOVERSIONS
npm error No versions available for amdfriend
So I'm not sure if AMDFriend is still usable or if there is another solution now.
Has anyone here got Photoshop working properly on a Ryzen 2200G + RX 550 Lexa + macOS Tahoe?
If you have a similar setup, what Photoshop version are you using and do you have GPU acceleration enabled?
I can also post my OpenCore config and crash log if that helps.
Thanks!

OC GUI Black Screen (BEFORE VERBOSE)
I'm on HP ProBook 6570b using OpenCore to hackintosh. But the moment I boot the USB, it stays on the blank screen, nothing shows up, no verbose, no OC GUI, no Apple logo, etc. I used OpenCore Debug version as well, the logs are created but they're empty from inside. I tried multiple EFIs, prebuilt ones and made myself too. Nothing works. Tried different USB sticks, nothing works. Changed multiple BIOS settings, nothing works. Tried different macOS versions, nothing works.
Can someone help please?

iWorks Support on Macos Sonoma
Dear users of the r/hackintosh subreddit,
I'm quite new in this community since I just now discovered this adventurous world of OpenCore and Hackintosh.
I'm wondering if any of you know how to install iWorks apps on Macos since apple has apparently removed the non-creative/creator suite version of the apps off the app store.
I have contacted apple about possible solutions but the one proposed (aka where I'd have to log in on another apple device to "buy" the apps) is literally impossible for me since I'm a bit broke right now.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance

Help Needed Installing Monterey
Yes I've tried gibMacOS
I've tried .dmg, .iso AND .pkg files. Flashing them onto a USB (sudo dd command on CachyOS) doesn't show it up in the boot menu
I'm looking for either a full proof guide, or a full proof 100% working file of Monterey to make a USB of
I currently have access to Windows 11, CachyOS and Bazzite (Bazzite is on the drive that MacOS will be installed)
No I have no access to any Mac or any form of MacOS
Any feedback is appreciated
EDIT: Two kind gentlemen have informed my dumbass that I forgot my specs. Here:
RX Radeon 580
Intel Core i7 9700
32GB DDR4 RAM
MacOS will be installed onto an external SSD, and if I end up migrating to and internal SSD, it would be a SATA SSD - NOT an NVMe
The flash drive is probably USB 2.0. It had one side USB A and the other USB C, but I doubt either are 3.0 as there's no blue plastic on the inside and it's probably either from Shein or Temu
Also used OpenCore Simplify and made the EFI folder.
Any other info needed, I will update on. Sorry for me being dumb dumb :P
