That is why subscriptions sell in open source. The software is free, but companies, especially big ones, are interested in making sure things keep working and develop into the direction they at least can influence a bit.

If you do want to make money, you should write software of which you know for sure that a demand exists and ideally, a lack of applications and/or coverage as well. Which is hard to find nowadays. The simpler path is to write software for companies that require a specific kind of software, or offer services for software that already exists at a cheaper rate than the competition does (but not at a lesser quality of service).

I am well aware that my answer sounds ridiculous but it's the one thing you can do right now without having to inform yourself about how to advertise your software. And while the success rate might be minimal, every success you have will be immediate.

The other option is to take your time and read about how to promote and possibly sell your products online (which, by the way, was not a requirement of your request).

I used to work in C# and C++ and a little bit of Android years ago. But due to various personal problems, I couldn't go deep into any of them. I also hate employment. I have a very creative and idea-generating mind. I love taking the time, putting in the energy, and creating a product and then sitting back and watching it sell.

What people seem to forget about the increased ability of seemingly everyone without any knowledge being able to create software is this: Someone needs to design and understand it. It is not the mere functionality that is important, but the understanding of what problems it solves and how it can do that efficiently. If uneducated people can do it, there won't be a need for educated people to do it. But if a person knows how to do things correctly, at least at a conceptual level, then the result can vary vastly between a person with or without knowledge about the domain they are creating software for.

Well, probably there is not a market for such software.

Let's take watermarking: Your target audience would be semi-professionals and freelancer who work alone do the work themselves. The industry is not interested in GUI application that need to be operated manually. They automate the shit out of any process.

For the other application there already exits very professional software and open source software that is freely available. So, you would need to find buyers that are unaware of that fact, despite the immense effort in trying to sell something that already exists for free.

I hope that one day all people will understand and realize that they should not ridicule the thoughts and opinions of others.
