Take a look at Cloudflare and what they do...
They have extensive documentation
What you will do?
Do the reserch.
See how other web apps deal with this...
It's not like you are inventing the first webapp...
Of course you can send requests without frontend - see the issue in lacking basic knowlege for any of this??
You can never stop it, but you can protect your resources and make it hard for them...
This is where all those words i said before come into play
Do you know what domains are?
Like your xyz.com?
Do you know what DNS server is and what it does?
Your IP is still exposed and everyone can just script to send requests directly to your backend bringing your VPS to a crawl. No one needs your frontend to send requests....
You should really and i mean really learn about security implications of hosting applications online
Guess you need to learn how request/response works...
Your frontent needs to know where your backend is, so it can send it requests and recive a response.
And exposing your backend directly without any protections in place is a recipe for getting hacked.
Things like reverse proxies, forward proxies, firewalls
Those are not just words, they are actual used components of every web app - no matter how big or small
Well, that's interesting.
I don't like to read content created by AI,
but it is such a waste of time waiting for people's answers.
The server storing that file requires electricity, colling. All requires water

what i will do now ?
i found my fastapi basic app just serve the webpage by itself and do some backend work so i will just run this with a caddy right reverse proxy?
But still the user can know my backend 's vps's ip address i can really not able to stop this so what become good here?
you means if i host my main website page (xyz.com) in github page and i want when user will submit write some data or upload file and then press the submit button this data will go to (vps.xyz.com this subdomain), and you say even a user without open the xyz.com he open api_dog and send directly a post /get/put request to my vps.xyz.com will this you means to say?
we just cannot stop this because this is web, my server will serve anyone request to get a resource so what risk you say, that many user / even automation bot will try to scrap information from my server is this wrong?
finally what you say how i will serve the html css from fastapi no problem right?
so still when a request will come to a ip address i will there keep a reverse proxy with caddy this caddy will run in the same vps, right?
so user must will see the ip address of my vps else what you say?
What i say, as my fastapi is not sending the .html, .css, .js file rather github page will serve those and in github page there will a link of my vps's open public ip. so else what more separate i will make.
you say my github page will send request to vps.xyz.com and this xyz.com (hosted in github) will be send backe request to vps.xyz.com where fastapi is running, the data will go back to user right u say this?
From This /channel/Python/2268903
Hey i am really confusing what you, previously you say i need to have fastapi is backend right?
So what you are saying when a request to my fastapi there so user will know my vps's ip address right?
Frontend is visible to everyone - you really want to expose your VPS directly online? With no protection whatsoever...
Sure be my guest...
