Why Does Alcohol Make You Drunk?
Alcohol. It can be just the buzz we need on a night out or a cozy evening in. But how does alcohol get you drunk? Why do our bodies and brains react in the way they do when alcohol enters our systems? We sip from the cup of truth, with a chaser of science.
@PrestigeEducation
In your mouth, alcohol mixes with saliva and enters your bloodstream through tiny blood vessels. Your stomach and small intestine absorb more alcohol into your bloodstream once it reaches them. Alcohol dilates your blood vessels. This causes that feeling of warmth. Your brain releases serotonin and dopamine to make you feel good. Your kidneys make and release a whole bunch of pee. This brings down the water levels in your body, increasing alcohol concentration. Alcohol vapor diffuses from your blood into your lungs. Your liver breaks alcohol down into water and carbon dioxide, making you feel less drunk. Factors like age, sex, and body weight can also affect how drunk you feel after consuming booze.
Ethanol is the key ingredient in alcohol and the active component that gets you drunk. Ethanol forms when yeast ferments the sugars in plants. The sugar in barley makes beer, the sugar in grapes makes wine, and the sugar in potatoes makes vodka (go on, admit you didn’t know that last one). It moves from the brewery to the bottle/can/tap to your mouth. From there, it causes effects through your body, gets you buzzed, and often kicks you right into a hangover the next day.
The Limitation of Expectation.

What is Cloud Burst?
Cloudburst, a sudden, very heavy rainfall, usually local in nature and of brief duration. Most so-called cloudbursts occur in connection with thunderstorms. In these storms there are violent uprushes of air, which at times prevent the condensing raindrops from falling to the ground. A large amount of water may thus accumulate at high levels, and if the upward currents are weakened the whole of this water falls at one time.
Cloudbursts are especially common in mountainous areas. This is probably because the warm air currents of a thunderstorm tend to follow the upward slope of a mountain. The effects of heavy rain are especially striking on mountain slopes because the falling water is concentrated in valleys and gulleys. Mountain cloudbursts cause sudden and destructive floods. The intensity of rainfall in the most severe cloudbursts can only be conjectured.
TikTok will be removed from US app stores from Sunday.
Washington moves to implement executive orders from President Donald Trump that will also target WeChat, a Chinese social media app. The US commerce department, which will issue the orders, stopped short of forcing Apple and Google to remove the Chinese versions of TikTok and WeChat from their app stores in China. The imminent removals come as Oracle and ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, continue talks with the Trump administration over how to resolve its concerns over the video app. Any deal will also have to be approved by Beijing. Oracle and ByteDance have submitted a proposal that would involve TikTok’s global business being spun out into a separate US company, with an all-American board and a security committee headed by a person with government security clearance. The new company would initially be majority owned by ByteDance, but would look to list publicly in the US.The removal of TikTok and WeChat from US app stores implements the first two executive orders issued by Mr Trump, which said US companies would be barred from dealing with the apps from September 20.
The president later issued a third order that gave ByteDance until November 12 to divest its interests in TikTok in the US. Also, Users would be able to keep the apps on their phones for now. But WeChat would quickly become unusable because software updates would not be available through the app stores.via.

Can Fingerprints change over time?
The Fingerprints grow larger as the person grows (from infancy to adulthood), but the basic shape and pattern does not change with time. This means that Fingerprints do not change with time. As aforementioned, the size of a Fingerprint increases as the person grows older, but the patterns stay the same.
You can scar your Fingerprints with a cut, or temporarily lose them through abrasion, acid or certain skin conditions, but Fingerprints lost in this way will grow back within a month. ... This doesn't change your Fingerprint but it's harder to scan or take a print from it.
Hurricane Laura could reach the power of a Category 3 storm when it reaches shore along the Texas and Louisiana coasts, could threatening $ 18 billion in damage to the region, and potentially shutting off 12% of US refining capacity for several months.
Laura's winds are likely to peak at 115 miles (185 km) per hour as the storm comes ashore on Wednesday, August 26 evening or Thursday morning, the National Hurricane Center said offshore oil and natural gas production had already stopped, refineries closed and export terminals, mandatory evacuation began. It will be the first major system to hit the Gulf Coast since Michael in 2018. Crude oil and gasoline futures surged to levels that were not seen before the pandemic, as the hurricane hit a key stretch of the US Gulf Coast, the country's largest concentration of refining capacity.
On Tuesday, US gasoline futures jumped 2.1% and crude oil futures jumped 1.7%, bringing both contracts to their highest since early March. West Texas Intermediate for October delivery traded at $43.38 a barrel as of 4:52 p.m. in New York, after settling at $43.35 a barrel. Brent for October settlement advanced 73 cents to end the session at $45.86 a barrel, its highest level since March 5.via.

Many of us rely on a morning cup of coffee or a jolt of caffeine in the afternoon to help us get through the day. But caffeine does so much more than just keeping you awake. It’s a central nervous system stimulant that affects your body in numerous ways. Caffeine provides no nutritional value on its own. It’s tasteless, so you won’t necessarily know if it’s in your food either. Even some medications may contain caffeine without your knowledge.
At a minimum, you may feel more energetic, but over time, too much caffeine may cause withdrawal symptoms. Caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant. When it reaches your brain, the most noticeable effect is alertness. Studies have also found that people who drink coffee regularly have a lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s and dementia, and cut suicide risk by 45 percent. These benefits are limited to people who drink high-octane coffee, not decaf. Extra caffeine doesn’t get stored in your body either. It’s processed in the liver and exits through your urine. Caffeine can make your blood pressure go up for a short time. If you consume too much, caffeine may cause also your muscles to twitch.
An overdose of caffeine may cause rapid or irregular heartbeat and breathing trouble. In rare cases, caffeine overdose can result in death due to convulsions or irregular heartbeat.

What is the difference between White Sugar and Brown Sugar?
Given that white and brown sugar originate from the same crops — either the sugarcane or sugar beet plant — they are quite similar.
In fact, most brown sugar is a mixture of white sugar and molasses, which is a type of sugar-derived syrup. Molasses is responsible for its darker color and slightly increases its nutritional value.
The most notable nutritional difference between the two is that brown sugar has slightly higher calcium, iron, and potassium contents.
That said, the amounts of these minerals in brown sugar are insignificant, so it’s not a good source of any vitamins or minerals.
Brown sugar also contains slightly fewer calories than white sugar, yet the difference is minimal. One teaspoon (4 grams) of brown sugar provides 15 calories, while the same amount of white sugar has 16.3 calories.
Aside from these minor differences, they are nutritionally similar. Their main differences are their taste and color.
First, the sugary juice from both crops is extracted, purified, and heated to form a brown, concentrated syrup called molasses.
Next, the crystallized sugar is centrifuged to produce sugar crystals. A centrifuge is a machine that spins extremely fast to separate sugar crystals from molasses.
White sugar is then further processed to remove any excess molasses and create smaller crystals. Subsequently, it’s run through a filtration system that’s often made with bone char, or crushed animal bones, to form white sugar.
Refined brown sugar is simply white sugar that has had molasses added back into it. Meanwhile, whole, unrefined brown sugar undergoes less processing than white sugar, allowing it to retain some of its molasses content and natural brown color.
How does Speedometer work?
The Speedometer Cable, powered by the Driveshaft, turns as well. The cable spins a Magnet around at the same speed inside the speed cup. The Magnet rotates continually in the same direction (in this case, counter-clockwise). As the speed cup turns, it turns the pointer up the dial, indicating the Vehicle's speed.
The Odometer shows the distance your vehicle has travelled, while the Speedometer show how fast your vehicle is going.
E-commerce giant Alibaba reported higher-than-expected sales growth. Daniel Zhang, the chief executive, said Alibaba is "closely following the latest changes in US government policy towards Chinese companies," and said it will abide by the new rules. In India, the company discontinued its popular UC Browser app and other innovative initiatives after New Delhi blacklisted it along with dozens of other Chinese apps. Hangzhou-based Alibaba increased revenue 34% year-on-year to $ 22.2 billion, beating analysts' forecasts, with growth returning to major e-commerce markets Tmall and Taobao after stagnating in the first quarter, as reported FT.via.
