universal FHE protocol enabling economies of the future
Privacy in Web3 isn't one problem. It's three different ones with three different answers.
We sat down with privacy experts from Miden, Octra, and Arcium to map where ZK, FHE, and MPC win, where they strain, and what a future private web requires.
This one gets technical, but in the best way. How data gets processed privately will define the future of the Web3 and beyond, and these three are working on it from the frontlines.
The auction opened ~1 hour ago, currently at $17.9M FDV with $4M committed volume (top 2 globally).
The auction will remain open until April 20, 2026.

quick update on what’s been done recently, so no one is left out of the loop:
1️⃣ devnet is live:
https://devnet.octrascan.io/
devnet faucet: https://faucet-devnet.octra.com/
* available 3-5 hours per day to claim 10 test OCT which hold no value
2️⃣ new web client with a simple setup is out:
https://github.com/octra-labs/webcli
it works on devnet and supports full stealth transfer functionality (encrypt, send, receive, decrypt)
after testing it will be migrated to mainnet
the python "pre-client" will no longer receive updates, though it will remain available
please test both and let us know your feedback on ease of setup and functionality

encrypted ml inference (an example of how this is possible)
https://github.com/octra-labs/pvac_hfhe_cpp/tree/main/examples/ml
as part of tomorrow's pre-final update, the ability to encrypt and decrypt balances will cease in a couple of hours, but will resume with the new client (a week was enough to finish it),
remind you that unclaimed automated transfers will be lost forever
thanks all
small minor update: in approximately two hours, the private tx transfer feature will be updated and will no longer be available (at all) on the previous client.
the new client will be available (tentatively) late at night with a wider range of features:
a much more secure operating env, direct data storage, built in dev and debugging tools, a convenient and simple system for working with smart contracts, a new, much more advanced endpoint for private txs, private messages, data transfer, etc.
pay attention to the timings. thanks all

$OCT auction update: 88% of bids are now out of range

For anyone confused: the first 48 hours of the auction is the pre-bidding period, when no tokens are allocated. This is done to determine the floor (starting valuation) of the real auction, that will open on April 15 around 10:00 AM EST.
For example, at the recent MegaETH auction, the starting valuation was $1M FDV. @octra didn't set a floor to let the pre-bidders determine it without a prior announcement. This felt like a fair approach to auctions.
If you placed bids at the beginning, when it was close to $0 FDV, you did not yet ape, and in fact are already outbid. Only bids within the range are accepted, so if you want to stay in the auction, you should withdraw and resubmit your bid.
Hope this helps. We are working with Uniswap to publish an explainer on how this works!

following up on the announcement, this month will bring:
- extended txs with anon senders/receivers,
- epoch time drops by 10% (not in our control),
- contracts go live,
- full client release with tools for build/deploy/testing,
- client gets decentralized storage for your runtime (separate post coming),
- client gets repl console for running stuff on the fly (like heavy math),
- for validators: node release as a simple container setup, just drop your validator addr (from token claim) and start earning fees,
- minor updates to octrascan, etc.
thanks for the support
