A girl from Chita flew to Thailand to work as a model, but upon arrival, she was taken to a special camp on the border with Myanmar, where she faced a bowl of rice, beatings, and 16-hour shifts.
Prisoners are forced to engage in online scams: some scam through chats, others become "models" and trick people out of money using their face and body. Those who disobey are whipped and threatened with being sold for organs.
The worst part is that the camp is located in a buffer zone where no laws apply. The camp houses many Asians, Europeans, and Russians. The latter are especially valued and assigned to the most profitable schemes — video calls.
Slave owners demand $15,000 for freedom, but even that doesn’t help — after ransom, the captive faces immigration prison for visa overstay. The girl from Chita is still captive and there is no contact with her.

The family was demanded a ransom of $500,000 for the body, and then it was announced that the remains were cremated. Now the relatives are trying to bring the ashes back home.
A similar scheme involved a woman from Chita — she was not taken by the scammers because of her appearance and they wanted to sell her for organs, but law enforcement intercepted her in time.
