Playing with cortisol?
Cortisol is well known as a hormone that is released in the situations of stress response.
There are certain conditions when it has its biological benefits. How to make use of them?
And what happens when we have chronic stress? We have cortisol released so often, that it does not get back down to normal level, and then comes to effect of "hypocortisolism" - very little cortisol is produced.
We'll look at the mechanisms of cortisol, as well as other players cortisol interacts with :)

We are at the morula stage. Not a unicellular organism anymore, but one cognition in many cells, unified by what?
This is our first question for this Friday.
The second question would be, how do we get energy to undergo mitotic divisions?
On day 4, we start to create our own inner space. What are we constructing it from?
The next thing we need to do is to hatch out from the zone pellucida and to dive deep into the dark and thick matter of your mother - to stay embodied ever since.

About the class:
«Recently I am interested in spontaneous glimpses of order in entropy.
Self-organizing behavior of living and non-living objects, flocks of birds, schools of fishes, social groups, body tissues, self-assembly of membranes, order without agreements and hierarchies.
We are going to work on a collective body as a phase transition from a person to a subject of a higher order - to a flock, to a group, to a self-assembled multi-organism with the help of simple rules that are not being set from above.
We are going to listen to an invisible attractor, to how it changes, to what is that we are going to draw as a message in the sky».

Vera Shchelkina is a dance artist that uses various somatic approaches to research human body and living matter. She is co-author of several dance pieces, including CO-TOUCH, SMRTЪ, Vibrant Matter etc. She is recently studying at the Somatische Akademie to become a somatic movement educator and gives workshops, classes and sessions.

This Friday we begin a new series of classes that I like to call "Soma-Mornings".

Because this studio is rented, I want to introduce a kind of a sliding scale:

About these sessions:
These sessions are inspired by everything combined: contemporary dance and performative techniques, somatic approaches on touch and movement, and, of course, by my favourite subject of all - embryology.
As embryologist Jap van der Waal says, growth is not about becoming more - growth is about staying one, one life, one consciousness, one organism, despite the fact of this organism being so many things at once: cells, systems, functions, organs. I am still one from the first cell that I am through constant cell divisions and dying out into my death, where I suddenly stop being one.
This inspires me deeply and lies underneath every thinking and living process: first mitosis, being your own space, embryonic folding, development of the nervous system, through all stages of evolution into a moving human.
That is why every session will have a topic of some emriological stage - with various exercises in perception and movement to sense this stage and what exactly happens there, and what still stayed with me, since I am the continuation of my own embryo.
So, let's dive into the beginnings in the mornings.

Новая неделя / 25 - 31 октября
Vibrant matter начинают вторую репетиционную неделю. То ли тема ребят про волнение материй, то ли планеты расположились в какой-то другой цепочке, то ли всё сразу, но время сейчас кажется хрупким и при этом удивительно мягким и стабильным. Ребята репетируют и приоткроют двери для очевидцев в выходные. Мы ведём классы во все запланированные дни. Танцевальный коворкинг и джем всё так же приглашают практиковать танец.
