Manchester United's plans for a new Old Trafford have taken another step forward after receiving unanimous support from local authorities.
Trafford council officials last night gave their unequivocal backing to plans for a potential 100,000-seater stadium at the heart of a major regeneration programme.
The stadium is being funded by United, but support from public bodies is needed for infrastructure around the regeneration.
A decision on whether to build a new stadium or renovate the current one is expected to be made by the end of the season.
Those involved are currently working on building a new stadium.
