Also it is more so the customers who are choosing to use Windows and software that can update at such a low-level for quick security rather than creating a network that is secure. And weve seen for decades now how Windows/Microsoft products behave.

Its only going to get worse from here.

The point of reporting and tracking vulns is that something is found in a healthy system that allows undesired behavior that you are not aware of.

This situation with Crowdstrike rendered systems unoperable and was an update pushed out. Its not like a malignant cancer cell in the body you should get removed. More like you ate food that was genetically altered and now you are sick and having a reaction that was not previously occurring(think peanuts and what was done to gluten in wheat strains).

Oops - Crowdstrike just demonstrated a serious vulnerability - directly internet-connected critical systems are updated with neither testing nor a backout plan...
Of course all those third party sw vendors have equally rigorous protection 🙂

I would agree though that if we used the term "vulnerability" very loosely then we could apply it to the process of how they interact with their customers machines but again, not really the reason for this channel and thats a loose application.

Thats not exactly a vulnerability though. Its a bug in an update they pushed out that bricked many Windows machines with the software installed.

A vulnerability is more so a backdoor or issue that allows security threats like remote access, priviledge escelation, etc that is present in functioning software/systems.
