To see every Muslim confident and impacting the world
Last week, Leicester Crown Court quashed Majid Freeman’s conviction for a public order offence arising from the 2022 Leicester unrest.
Far from being a provocateur, the court found him to be a measured mediator and “bridge-builder” who sought to calm tensions and protect his community.
The ruling not only clears Freeman’s name, it raises serious questions about how he was treated in the first place — and offers important lessons for British Muslims about standing firm with dignity, building bridges across faiths, and trusting that justice, even when delayed, ultimately prevails.

Amnesty International has condemned comments by UK Business and Trade Secretary Peter Kyle suggesting that arms sales to Israel could resume if the Gaza ceasefire reaches a second phase.

Trump's Saddam moment
On Saturday, Donald Trump committed his most extreme crime to date: kidnapping the leader of a sovereign state and throwing them in an American jail.
The humiliating kidnap of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, along with the killings of at least 80 and bombings of various sites, has been roundly condemned as American colonialism at its finest, with the world's largest oil reserves now seemingly in US control.
85 years ago today, a jubilant new year atmosphere was snuffed out by a night of horror. That evening the Luftwaffe struck Cardiff, dropping hundreds of bombs, killing over 150, destroying entire streets, and leaving 3,000 homeless.
But the destruction of the Peel Street Mosque during WWII highlights the even deeper story of one of Britain’s oldest Muslim communities.

A breakaway region that is 34-years-old. Unrecognised by the world. And yet it has now been “recognised” by an apartheid settler state that usurped the land of Palestine and refuses to recognise Palestinians? Is this not the definition of irony?
Muslims of Somaliland and Somalia, please do not let engineered nationalism turn you against each other. Your enemy is not your Muslim brother — it is those who profit from your division.

Zionist recognition of Somaliland condemned
Egypt, Türkiye, the African Union, the GCC, and others have rejected Israel's recognition of the breakaway state of "Somaliland".
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said, “This initiative by Israel, which aligns with its expansionist policy and its efforts to do everything to prevent the recognition of a Palestinian state, constitutes overt interference in Somalia’s domestic affairs.”

Qur'ān defaced in latest Sweden incident
On Sunday, Stockholm Mosque authorities found a mushaf with six bullet holes chained to the railings of a staircase, with a note saying "Thanks for the visit, but it’s time to go home."
In recent years, similar incidents have involved the burning of the Qur'ān. This particular incident was clearly aimed at striking fear into Swedish Muslims, but it has only increased their steadfastness.

UN warns children in Darfur could die of hunger within days
The UN has warned that children in Darfur are at risk of dying from hunger “within days” as famine conditions persist more than 1,000 days into Sudan’s war.
The conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces has killed thousands, displaced nearly 13 million people, and driven over 40 per cent of the population into acute food insecurity, creating the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
A necessary read for our time.
Social media has reshaped how Muslims learn, argue, market Islam, and even understand “community”. This essay asks hard but sincere questions about Muslim influencers, attention economies, and what we’ve quietly lost along the way.
It isn’t written to attack individuals, but to invite a more honest reckoning with modernity, platforms, and our responsibilities to Allah and one another.

Muslims lead British charitable giving
A new report has confirmed that "British Muslims are four times as generous when it comes to charitable giving, with the figure rising to ten times among high earners."
However, the Equi think tank also warns that Muslim charities still face significant barriers including debanking, securitisation, and lack of government recognition for their continued efforts.
Ben-Gvir wants to silence the adhan
Itamar Ben-Gvir's extreme obsession with Islam continues, as his party seeks to push through a bill reducing the volume of the Islamic call to prayer.

https://www.islam21c.com/culture/it-takes-a-village/
If the missing village is one half of the story, the rise of technology is the other. We hand children devices to keep them quiet, and we turn to our own screens to cope. But this bargain comes at a cost.
We can’t recreate the 1950s. But we can choose to create micro-villages today: groups of adults who share values, who show up for one another, who give our children a circle of safety and guidance beyond the nuclear family.
