InteRussia community, we need your help! 🧡
For the next 7 days, we’re conducting a survey on international professional opportunities and exchange programmes.
The aim is to better understand what professionals from different backgrounds expect from such opportunities — what they value, what motivates them to participate, and what may hold them back.
How can you help?
1️⃣Take a few minutes to complete the survey.
2️⃣Share it with at least three friends, colleagues or classmates — especially those outside the InteRussia community.
3️⃣Ask them to pass it on, too.
The wider the survey travels, the more perspectives we’ll be able to bring together ❤️
One voice. Three shares. One week. Let’s see how far we can take it together!

The InteRussia Fellowship for Young Actors from BRICS+ Countries Concludes in Moscow 🕰
On 2 October, the six-week InteRussia fellowship in theatre arts for young actors from BRICS+ countries came to a close at the New Stage of the GITIS Training Theatre. Participants immersed themselves in the key methods of the Russian theatre school, completed an intensive acting programme, and explored Moscow’s leading theatrical and cultural venues.
The highlight of the closing day was the final performance prepared under the guidance of GITIS teachers. This year the fellows worked on Anton Chekhov’s one-act play The Proposal, presenting fragments on stage in English and their national languages and interpreting the text through different theatrical genres and traditions.
What happened during the fellowship?
⭐️ Studied the Stanislavsky system and its influence on world theatre, as well as Meyerhold’s biomechanics
⭐️ Took intensive courses in acting technique, stage speech, stage movement, and play & role analysis
⭐️ Met with Sergei Bezrukov and Vladislav Miller, Chair of the Youth Council of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia
⭐️ Participated in the round table “Between Stanislavsky and the Present: Where Is Theatre Heading?” at the Stanislavsky Museum
⭐️ Visited the Moscow Art Theatre, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Stanislavsky Museum, Gorky Film Studio, Moskino Film Studio, the “Heritage. Theatre. Greats” exhibition, and Anton Chekhov’s museum-estate in Melikhovo
Over six weeks the programme became a vibrant space for professional growth, creative exchange, and new international connections. We thank our fellows for their talent, energy, and openness, and wish them every success on their artistic journeys 🧡

The Final Note ✨
Six weeks of rehearsals and total immersion in the theatre world have led to this moment. Today, the InteRissia theatre fellows close their fellowship by bringing Chekhov to life in their native languages.
Our fellows presented the excerpts from the Chekhov’s play “Proposal” in their mother tongues, showcasing that art is beyond any borders.
Showing you the preparation for the performance ❤️

Is Stanislavski still the key to understanding modern theatre? 🎭
For many actors around the world, his name is almost synonymous with Russian theatre. But the theatre Stanislavski knew is long gone — so what has remained of his system, and what has changed?
That became the starting point for the round table “Between Stanislavski and the Present Day: Where Is Theatre Heading?”, held at the K.S. Stanislavski House-Museum on September 24.
The discussion brought together:
📌 Director of the Moscow Art Theatre Museum Pavel Vashchilin,
📌 theatre scholar Pavel Rudnev,
📌 three InteRussia fellows representing different theatre traditions — from Ethiopia, China and Brazil.
As Pavel Vashchilin put it: “Theatre knows no borders. The best way to prove it is to bring together people who speak different languages but think in the language of the stage.”
Before leaving, the fellows explored the House-Museum, visiting Stanislavski’s study and the historic interiors of his Opera Studio. They also saw the first Russian edition of My Life in Art, now on display at the museum.
And what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear “Russian theatre”? 🩵

250 anniversary ✨
The Bolshoi Theatre survived fires and rebuilds. This year marks 250 years since Catherine the Great signed the decree that started it all.
Swipe through to see how the theatre in the heart of Moscow became a symbol of Russian art itself — the red-and-gold hall, the mysterious Apollo above the stages, the chandelier, and the hidden world running beneath it all.

Lights. Camera. Action! 🎦
Last week, our fellows swapped their usual routine for a day at Gorky Film Studio — one of the most iconic names in Russian cinema history. They walked through soundstages where legendary films were born and got a rare look at how sets are built.
It's one thing to read about filmmaking, and another to stand in the middle of it. From prop rooms to production offices, the visit gave our fellows a real sense of how creative ideas turn into finished films — and a few great stories to tell ✨

Ever wondered where the legendary Stanislavsky tradition was actually born? ❓
You might not know it, but there is one very specific place where everything started — and its walls still keep the secrets.

From the Russian Theatre Union — straight behind the curtain 🎉
After meeting representatives of the Russian Theatre Union, InteRussia fellows continued their introduction to its work at “Heritage. Theatre. Greats” — the largest exhibition project in the Union’s history, created to mark its 150th anniversary.
Built as a journey through the backstage world, the exhibition begins where audiences rarely enter — at the stage door. Across 17 thematic sections, the fellows discovered how a performance comes to life long before the curtain rises.
They explored:
⭕️ the work of theatre workshops — from costume, make-up, props, and scenery to lighting, sound, and stage machinery;
⭕️ original costumes, sets, props, and other exhibits from more than 100 theatres across Russia;
⭕️ 150 years of Russia’s theatre community, its legendary figures, theatre families, and traditions passed from one generation to another.
The route eventually leads visitors from backstage onto the stage itself — offering a chance to see theatre not only through the eyes of an actor, but through those of the many professionals whose work usually remains hidden from the audience.

InteRussia STEM Fellowship Concludes at Skoltech 🤖
On September 25, Skoltech hosted the closing event of the fellowship for international STEM specialists. Participants from 13 countries presented the final projects they developed over the month — from idea to working prototype.
During the programme the fellows:
➡️ worked in interdisciplinary teams
➡️ studied approaches to creating technological solutions
➡️ held brainstorming sessions
➡️ tested their ideas in practice
Among the presented projects were a device to help people with atopic dermatitis and a robotic cell for assessing gold.
The programme gave participants hands-on experience in collaborative product development and introduced them to tools for turning ideas into viable solutions. Their work will continue beyond the fellowship 💙

From Workshops to Industrial Leaders: How the STEM Fellowship Is Going ✏️
On September 21, STEM fellows visited Astra Group — one of Russia's leading IT developers, best known for the Astra Linux operating system and other software solutions.
The company's ecosystem spans nearly every layer of the IT stack — from operating systems and virtualization to cybersecurity and enterprise tools. In recent years, Astra has shown strong growth, steadily expanding its product lineup and pursuing acquisitions, including AI development.
The fellows had a lecture on how Astra is structured, covering its product development process, internal operations, and company culture. Astra's team also shared insights from their own projects and answered questions about working in tech.
Visits like this give fellows a chance to see the industry up close — a real glimpse into what a day in the life of an engineer at a major tech company looks like 🔷

Happy Birthday to the one, the only, Liana 🎉
Before anyone even reach Russia, they already know her name. It’s whispered in chats, repeated in old application threads, passed around like a secret: there’s Liana.
She’s the one who meets you at the airport with a smile (even at the most impossible hour), helps you choose the perfect Russian souvenir, and somehow solves every single problem that appears along the way — calmly, quickly, and like it’s the easiest thing in the world 💐
She’s a real diamond — bright, strong, and impossible to replace. And without a doubt, the true heart of InteRussia. That warm voice that lights up the room, and the quiet strength that appears the second something needs to get done. She’ll laugh with you one moment and have everything under control the next.
Liana, thank you for being the person who makes the impossible feel possible 💋
May this year bring you as many reasons to smile as you’ve given all of us 🎈
