We created and approved dozens of bots allowed for Telegram ads. Here is the list of the common mistakes and recommendations to make the process as easy as possible.
Communication/writing style in bots:
1. Messages should not overstate expectations.
2. The content must be appropriate, and using clickbait (both in the bot's description and in messages) is prohibited.
3. It is not allowed to promise guaranteed income.
4. Phrases like "everything you need" and other overpromise statements will not be approved.
5. Push notifications: You cannot send push notifications to users every 5 minutes to pressure them - this will be perceived as spam (both by the moderation of Telegram Ads and by the user).
What should be in the bot to pass the moderation:
Buttons:
- Description of the buttons should be clear. Avoid unclear statements to help your users to understand what you want from them.
Menu:
- Delivers a brief message describing what awaits the person in the bot and additional buttons.
About the product/company:
- Clear description of what is offered in the current bot. Everything about the product, company or expert.
Contacts:
- The company's website or other contact information to get in touch.
CTA:
- A brief description of the product and a button for communication with the manager or a link to the site for purchase.
If you plan to create a bot-shop with products - you need to provide information about:
- the company
- the method of payment
- the shipping method
- contacts
- certificates (if available, especially on-the-edge categories)
TLDR. It’s not that hard to get passed the moderation team if your bot is helpful, transparent, and not created only to collect leads information.

We've noticed that WhatsApp has a knack for adopting already established technologies. This time around, the service has announced a new "Channels" feature (better late than never, right?)
Here's what awaits users in the WhatsApp channels:
▶️ The ability to follow news from companies, brands, and authors.
▶️ Channels will be located on a new "Current" tab.
▶️ Administrators will be able to post messages, photos, videos, stickers, and polls.
▶️ Subscribers will be able to view posts, but won't be able to leave comments or reactions.
▶️ You can subscribe via catalog or by invitation from the administrator.
▶️ The phone number and photo of the administrator will be hidden from subscribers. Subscriber numbers will be hidden from each other and the administrator.
▶️It will be possible to remove publications from the channel after posting.
▶️Administrators will have the ability to prohibit screenshots and content reposting.
Despite WhatsApp's clear attempt to attract advertisers, we think it will have a hard time surpassing Telegram. Here's why:
1️⃣According to TGStat data for May 2023, Telegram attracts more than 75 million users from per month. Moreover, a strong community of businessmen and experts has formed on Telegram. This is a huge audience for advertisers. Can WhatsApp gather such an audience? Will see.
2️⃣Telegram is already adapted for advertising. There's Telegram Ads, which allows you to run advertising campaigns and gather statistics on them. WhatsApp has no equivalent.
3️⃣Telegram has AI bots, plus it's testing the ability to lead users to external resources. This allows advertisers to build creative sales funnels. WhatsApp doesn't have that.
In our opinion, Telegram currently seems to be leading the battle for audience and advertiser attention.
