🔥We’ve published a whitepaper outlining the architecture of the HOT Protocol [ru]

HOT Protocol is the core component of all HOT products. It’s a network of MPC nodes that securely store distributed private key shares and verify access to them.

When you create an MPC Wallet, you’re essentially reserving a key stored on HOT Protocol, which you can then use to sign transactions.

When you bridge assets, you’re actually requesting a signature for a cross-chain transfer instruction — signed by a key controlled by HOT Protocol.

Four key principles:
➡Private keys are sharded, never assembled in one place, and require collaboration from 2/3 of nodes to sign.
➡All nodes run inside TEEs (Trusted Execution Environments) — secure enclaves with memory that cannot be accessed externally.
➡All access rules are stored on the NEAR Protocol blockchain and can be audited by anyone.
➡Any user or smart contract can reserve a key on HOT Protocol and use it to sign transactions according to their own rules, paying for requests in HOT tokens.
