Neurotoxin are found in Elapids (cobra family): There are about 300 venomous species of Elapidae, including kraits, mambas, coral snakes and sea snakes. They have short fangs in the front of the upper jaw and strike downward, followed by chewing. Their venom is mainly neurotoxic (it harms your central nervous system), but it can also harm body tissue or blood cells. If a cobra bites you, you can die from paralysis of your heart and lungs very quickly after.

A cytotoxin is any compound or molecule that has a toxic effect on cells. In the world of poisons, the cytotoxins that are most interesting are those contained in the venom of snakes.
Many of the most deadly snakes in the world have cytotoxic venom: Cobras and Adders
Cytotoxic venom contains several digestive enzymes and molecules known as "spreading factors" which cause both local and systemic injury.ñ Locally the venom causes pain, swelling, bleeding and blistering around the bite mark with eventual necrosis (rotting) of the tissue in the area of the bite. Systemically (throughout the body) anti-clotting proteins in the venom can cause system wide bleeding and organ damage.

Hemotoxins are those that destroy red blood cells. Many of the snakes common to the Southern United States are hemotoxic snakes: Vipers like- Cotton Mouths, Rattle Snakes, Copperheads.

The venom itself is what is called a metalloproteinase. Proteinases are capable of breaking down proteins and this one specifically targets the basement membrane of the red blood cell and causes it to lyse. If enough cells lyse, the body hemorrhages.

What Is the Difference Between Good and Bad Cholesterol?
Cholesterol, a waxy substance that builds in the arteries is not completely harmful, despite its reputation for being bad for you. In fact, some of it can even improve your health when consumed in the right amounts.
There are two types: high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL). As a general rule, HDL is considered “good” cholesterol, while LDL is considered “bad.” This is because HDL carries cholesterol to your liver, where it can be removed from your bloodstream before it builds up in your arteries. LDL, on the other hand, takes cholesterol directly to your arteries. This can result in atherosclerosis, a plaque buildup that can even cause heart attack and stroke.
Triglycerides make up the third component of cholesterol and act as unused calories that are stored as fat in the blood. Eating more calories than you burn can cause triglycerides to build up in the bloodstream, increasing your risk for heart attacks.
An LDL count of 100 or less is considered healthy. Your HDL count should be at least 40 (or 50 if you’re female) or greater. Healthy triglyceride counts are 150 or less. Your “numbers,” or total HDL and LDL cholesterol plus triglycerides, should add up to no more than 200. If your numbers are higher than 200, check with your physician, you may have a higher HDL count, which is not unhealthy.
Maintaining healthy levels of cholesterol is manageable. Medication is key, along with eating a healthy diet with lots of vegetables and getting regular exercise.
