So is the ds160 valid for 30 days from the date of creation or is it from the date you last accessed?

I booked my appointment for h1 dropbox and submitted my ds160 with my old passport but recently I renewed my passport is it okay to go and submit the documents with the old passport number on my submitted ds160 or should I rebook the appointment with new ds160? Asking this because we aren’t allowed to submit a new ds160 now right?

If it’s “submitted” I think it’s valid for 1 year. If it’s “saved “for later then it’s active for 1 month from the point that you recently saved. try to retrieve the DS-160 from CEAC website after Jan-27 and see if you were able to retrieve then I think you are good to go.

Hi All,
I have partially completed the DS-160 form.
And parallely trying to check visa slots.

While checking the visa slots there is a field to provide the dS-160 id(which we get while submitting the DS-160).
My doubt is if I submit the DS-160 id in the Visa application, can I still do the changes for DS-160?

Hey guys, 👋 I dropped my h4 documents at Pune vfs for the Chennai consulate on 3rd Jan. It's showing "application received" since 10th Jan (case created and case updated) and no update since then. Is there anyone who is in the same boat ?😐

I usually submit (in ceac site) the DS-160 2 days before the interview untill then I just fill the DS-160 one page per week or random changes and save the changes to keep it active. Hope this answers your question.

I have submitted DS-160 on dec 26th for Hyderabad and booked drop box appointment slot at Chennai for Feb 5th. Do I need to submit another DS-160 , since 30 days elapsed? Heard that DS-160 valid only for 30 days after submitting it.

Copying this pinned message by admin. For people tracking.

Lots of questions on tracking passport. Here's a summary.
- When you submit the passport (either via dropbox or interview), the usvisascheduling portal will show "Delivered to post" status on bottom right of the landing page in 1-2 days. After that you'll not see any update here till the visa is issued
- Next switch to the CEAC portal and there you'll see the progress from "Received" to "Approved" (or "Rejected") to "Issued". After "issued" there is no more status update on CEAC portal
- Next, switch back to the usvisascheduling portal. There you will see an "origination scan" status on the bottom right side of the landing page when your passport is picked up by Blue Dart. And when it reaches the destination (e.g., VAC), you'll see "ready for pickup" status on bottom left part of the landing page.

Hi friends, sharing my timeline again in case this helps. This group was extremely helpful.

First time H1B stamping through Dropbox. Transitioning from opt visa. Original appointment was in Chennai and I dropped in Chennai.
Appointment date - 8th Jan
Received - 11th Jan
Approved- 17th Jan
Issued - 18th Jan

Now waiting to pick up passport.
