Since last week, CrypToadz retrodrop has been making a lot of noise on the NFT side of TON. The community had valid questions: Why is this happening and what is it all about? Is it really possible to just take someone else's art and mint it?
So we decided to get into details about the CC0 concept, also known as "No Rights Reserved" or "Creative Commons". In fact, the author intentionally has assigned no rights to the art, so that their work could be used anyhow and anywhere. ✏
The unique feature of the NFT and crypto worlds is the power of the community. When the community is strong enough, ideas and collections grow from within it. Usually it’s not even about cash, but for the sake of fun and the joy of co-creation. And the CC0 model is a common choice among such collections’ creators. 🧑🌾
Gee, since anyone can make NFTs from other people's images, then what is the difference from an old school CTRL+C/CTRL+V of a picture?
Good question, and here’s an answer:
☝️Firstly, the difference is that the collections are still on the blockchain, and you can always check the original source: whether it was the original CrypToadz collection on Ethereum or the twin brother launched on TON.
✌️Secondly, as the CC0 proponents say: the more copies there are, the more valuable the original. The Mona Lisa has not become cheaper because the copies of it are literally everywhere.
And, as we know, the market is who calls the shots: Will the secondary trading thrive or is it a one-day hype? The power is in the community. For a community driven by the same idea and charged with like-minded people, the sky's the limit. This theory is totally backed by the examples of Lost Dogs and New Year Eggs.

It’s time to finally open up the curtains! 👀
Do you remember the post where you were guessing who was in the picture? The correct answer came pretty immediately in the comments, but there were a bunch of cool guesses.
Yes, that’s them — Adam and Eve. They are the dog ancestors who gave rise to the entire dog kin. But what kind of dogs are they anyway? Come here, we’re just about to tell you! 🤫
Lost Dogs is a generative collection of 2,222 NFT dogs that users will be able to buy on the Getgems launchpad. Each dog has a set of unique attributes that determine its appearance and, of course, its rarity. And the most exciting part — the dogs can be merged! 🐶
And what exactly is the point? The whole idea of this venture is to create new breeds of dogs by merging the existing ones, and it all will be possible without leaving the Getgems marketplace.
In a sense, the true NFT minting will begin after the launchpad sale is over, because the number of new breeds is limited only to the number of participants!

Houston, we’ve got new features: Non-cancellable auctions on Getgems! 🤴
Yes, we know you've been asking for this since last year. And yes, we've been closely monitoring how auctions have been used on our marketplace all this time, so as not to rush things. Our users' opinion is important to us, and that's why we've added support for a new smart contract for auctions. 🔥
Now, if at least one bid has been made in the auction, the seller will not be able to cancel it, as was previously possible. However, if there are no bids, the seller can still cancel the auction, as before. The community has come to a consensus that the minimum bid is a "moral" threshold that needs to be crossed for the NFT to be sold at a price that is sufficient for the seller. If the threshold is exceeded, the auction cannot be cancelled. ☝
Additional changes also affect the bidding step: it will now be calculated automatically based on the bids previously made in the auction, in percentages (%). ✏️

Keen observers might have already spotted a new mysterious Bell in the interface of each collection and NFT on our website. What’s it for?
You can now subscribe to the notifications you choose from the collection or an NFT of interest: If a new sale offer comes up in it, an auction begins, or an NFT is sold, you will be notified via the bell and our bot. Don't forget to link it to your Getgems profile in the Settings — it's very handy! 🏆
Notifications are highly customizable. You can pick the price range for which the notifications will be sent, as well as whether the item is being offered for sale at a price lower than the floor price.
NB: We have tried to think through the update to make it as comfortable for you as possible, so the notifications regarding the floor price will be sent if the price differs by 1% or more. It’s done so to avoid spam attacks in the Bell section and your DMs.

It's time to sum up the Lost Dogs activity!🐶
Let's talk about what happened: In collab with Lost Dogs Co, we dropped a cheap generative collection (for about 1 $TON or $2 per NFT) with a game mechanic implemented straight into Getgems. What was the point? To crossbreed Dogs and get new NFTs having attributes from their "parents" with the potential of up to 2 million variations. The ingenious is truly always simple. In short, here's what happened:
📌 A crazy sell-out of the collection happened: we sold the whole lot of 2,222 NFT-Dogs in just 12 minutes.
📌 The simple mechanic of breeding new Dogs drew a lot of attention and the initial number of NFTs in the collection was increased by more than 6 times.
📌 Over the course of two weeks the game lasted, we held five big activities for NFT-Dog holders and gave away more than 7,000 $TON (over $16,000)!
📌 Awesome engagement in chats: Dogs attracted more than 500 new people to a special chat, and over 24,000 messages were sent.
📌 The social mechanic worked: People brought in their friends and peers, and about 30% of holders had purchased a Dog as their very first NFT on Getgems. (Welcome!)
📌 We broke the rules of the game by making a project in which rarity didn't play a determining role in the assessment of NFTs, especially given the ever-growing number of items in the collection.
📌 And also: We consistently ranked in the top 3 of all collections on TON, competed in auctions for Mutagens and collected mutant Dogs, established Dog religions, and burned thousands of NFTs.
And we are very proud! What’s next? We ain’t planning to stop! According to Lost Dogs, this was only the game’s first season. As for us, we will continue to create exciting things for the NFT community on TON: with games, social, and viral mechanics. Stay with us. 💎

🗞 The long-awaited Mutant Toadz reveal took place, which was eagerly received by the collection's NFT holders. The waiting lived up to the expectations though! The collection rocketed into the top 3 leaders in sales!
🗞 New release from TON Caps. The guys have dropped a new pack of exclusive caps, check them out on their channel.
🗞 Fanzee token got listed on CoinMarketCap! After joining Gate.io, the project of team of fans for fans gets listed on CMC, perhaps the most reputable crypto platform.
🗞 STON.fi had a product update. The profitability of liquidity pools, an important parameter for DEX, is now displayed on STON.fi.

Croak! That's Mutant Toadz revealing themselves!🐸
No wonder the toads' croak can be heard from all sides now that the froggy-spawns of the Mutant Toadz collection will be revealed on February 21!
What should you know about the reveal and the collection afterwards?
📌 There will be no new spawns or toads minted, nor will the collection hold extra sales.
📌There will be 1569 NFTs in total, with two custom toads created by well-known artists: Douglas TenNapel (creator of "Earthworm Jim") and Andres Moncayo (a famous illustrator from New York)
📌After the reveal, royalties in the collection will drop from 15% to 4%, which is a good benefit for holders.
The reveal of the NFT-spawns will take place on the scheduled day, and all toad owners will see which one they got. While the reveal has yet to start, there are still exclusive froggy-spawns for sale on the market.😌

Okay, we can’t keep quiet about this any longer…
We are super excited to release another long-awaited feature – video and animation NFT minting! 📹
We were asked about this all of last year, we batted away requests and repeatedly said how only a few people wanted this feature and that there were even fewer actual collections with videos and graphics. But, of course, we couldn’t keep ignoring these requests forever.
So, we gathered ourselves together and mulled over how to manage this kind of feature in an effective and elegant manner. We’ve done everything you asked for 🫡
Now for the details! When creating an NFT through the marketplace interface, you now have a choice between: GIF, WEBP or MP4. We recommend uploading content up to a max of 2000x2000 pixels and 15 megabytes to minimize the chances of any display or internet connection problems.
Now we eagerly await new interesting projects using this kind of NFT or we’ll cancel all the updates and bring back the old system! Jokes 😜
