Vidović also takes his team to the top of the table with match’s lone goal... Most seasons across Europe continue to wind down as we head further into spring. While Bayern Munich clinched Champions League for next season, their loanees continue to fight for championships, European spots, and safety from relegation. Below, we take a look into what Neverlusen did against Alexander Nübel and co., two goals and an assist from Tillman, and a winner in an important match for Gabriel Vidović . See what else Bayern’s loanees and their teams did this week:FC Bayern MunichThere are eight players on loan from the first team.Germany – BundesligaThere are two players on loan in the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel and Josip Stanišić.Alexander Nübel – VfB StuttgartNübel started in goal for the battle of Bayern loanees in Leverkusen. He had four saves, but only two of the shots came from inside the box. Stuttgart went got up 2-0 in the second half, but we all know that no late lead is safe when facing Laterkusen...Stuttgart will host Bayern on Saturday.Josip Stanišić – Bayer O4 LeverkusenStanišić was on the bench to start the battle against Nübel and did not come onto the pitch until the 89th minute. By then, Leverkusen had pulled a goal back and was down 2-1. Stanišić completed all seven of his passes, but did not directly influence the match. He was on the pitch to see his team do the unthinkable once again, as they equalized in the sixth minute of stoppage time to equalize and keep the hopes of an undefeated season alive. Leverkusen will travel to Italy on Thursday to face AS Roma in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final. They will also travel to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in League play on Sunday.Netherlands – EredivisieMalik Tillman is the only player on loan in the Eredivisie.Malik Tillman – PSV EindhovenPSV scored early and often on the road against mid-table Heerenveen and Tillman was right in the middle of the action. In just the seventh minute, Tillman played a through ball to his teammate, Til, who put the ball into the back of the net. Just two minutes later, Tillman scored a goal of his own and then did it again two minutes after. Two goals and an assist in five minutes and a 3-0 lead after 11 minutes. On the day, he only had those two shots, created two more chances, and completed 96% of his passes to earn man of the match recognition. PSV went on to win 8-0. PSV are now up nine points with three games to go, but a 30-goal advantage in the goal differential column. It is just a matter of time before they are officially crowned champions. They will look to clinch at home on Sunday when they host Sparta Rotterdam.Croatia – HNLGabriel Vidović is the only player on loan to the Croatian HNL.Gabriel Vidović – Dinamo ZagrebVidović started for Zagreb on the road against NK Varazdin, but only played 72 minutes. He only completed 69% of his passes, did not create any chances for his teammates to shoot, and only had one shot. Luckily, his one shot created the lone goal of the match and Zagreb got the much important 1-0 road win. With their ninth straight league win — and a loss by former league leaders, Rijeka — Zagreb are in first place with a point advantage. They will be on the road to Rijeka in a pivotal match for the title race on Sunday.Italy – Serie AArijon Ibrahimović is the only player on loan to Serie AArijon Ibrahimović – Frosinone CalcioIbrahimovic was on the bench as an unused sub as Frosinone snapped a 12-game winless streak with a 3-0 win against…

FC Bayern München Training Session Photo by F. Noever/FC Bayern via Getty Images De Ligt was sorely missed against Real Madrid— hopefully he’ll be back soon. Thomas Tuchel’s new favorite center-back pairing of Matthijs de Ligt and Eric Dier was disrupted during Bayern Munich’s recent Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt, with de Ligt being forced off at halftime due to a minor knee injury. This unfortunately meant that the Dutchman was unavailable for selection for Bayern’s midweek Champions League semifinal first leg against Real Madrid.Fellow center-back Kim Min-jae was chosen in De Ligt’s place, and it’s fair to say that the Netherlands star was sorely missed against the Spanish giants, as Kim was directly involved in the concession of both goals scored by Vinicius Junior on the night.Luckily de Ligt will probably be available for the second leg away at Madrid, however, the defender remains a doubt for Bayern’s weekend match at VfB Stuttgart. As captured by Abendzeitung journalist Maximilian Koch (via @iMiaSanMia), De Ligt responded to questions regarding his availability for Bayern’s next league game, saying, “We have to wait and see. We’re looking day by day.”Frank Linkesch of kicker (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) is backing up Koch, too, as he says there is a “good chance” of De Ligt playing against Real Madrid next week: There’s a good chance that Matthijs de Ligt will be available against Real Madrid next week. Internally, Bayern expect him to be able to play. The Dutchman would then start alongside Eric Dier at the Bernabéu.While the De Ligt and Dier partnership has been fruitful thus far, it might just be a better idea to keep De Ligt on the bench even if he is fit for the weekend. Surely subbing him in with 15-20 minutes to go with the aim of avoiding further injury while keeping him sharp is the play.Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s insane 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League? FC Bayern München v Real Madrid: Semi-final First Leg - UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Photo by Daniel Kopatsch/Getty Images Can Kane and the Bavarians get past Real Madrid? Harry Kane curse?Hold your horses. Bayern Munich is not done yet — and may just fetch the biggest club trophy of them all before it is all said and done. Kane, the ex-Tottenham striker, has been here before — even seeing his Spurs reach the Final. But now he can do something about it, and lifted Bayern’s chances with a coolly taken penalty in the first leg of the semifinal against Real Madrid.“These are the big games, under the lights. The atmosphere today was incredible. I’m sure it will be the same next week,” Kane said after the game in comments captured by @iMiaSanMia. “I want to be playing in these big games and it doesn’t come any bigger. We can take a lot of positives from today. There are some small details that we have to take away and get right, because we can get punished. We’ve got to take positivity into next week.”The Bavarians could only manage a draw despite a golden opportunity to put the tie to bed at home. But that only sets up a tantalizing return fixture in Spain next week.“Everything we’re fighting for is in this competition,” Kane added for TNT Sports. “We’ve just got to find a way to get it done. Real Madrid away is going to be tough but we’ve got to go there with full belief and go for the win.“The Champions League is the biggest of them all. If we can somehow get our hands on it, it will be an amazing season — but there’s still a long way to go.”Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s insane 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League? FC Bayern München v Real Madrid: Semi-final First Leg - UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Photo by Alex Pantling/Getty Images How bad was the Real Madrid star feeling? According to a report from Guillermo Rai of The Athletic (as captured by Give Me Sport), Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was ill during his team’s 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League, which led to his subpar showing: According to The Athletic’s Real Madrid correspondent Guillermo Rai, the reason behind Bellingham’s failure to play at his usual high level was illness. The England international has been one of the best-performing players in the 2023-24 campaign and is even expected to be in the running to win the Ballon d’Or, depending on the success of his club and national sides in the coming months. However, Rai took to X (formerly Twitter) to explain that the Real Madrid ace failed to train in the lead up to the biggest game of his young career to date. He said: “Bellingham had a virus last week, barely trained and still made the effort to go to Donosti. If he had had the training and strength, this tie could have ended much earlier.”Bayern Munich already knew it would be in for a tough battle heading into the return leg in Spain, but also having to face a healthy Bellingham could make the challenge even greater. FC Bayern München v Real Madrid: Semi-final First Leg - UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Photo by Chris Brunskill/Fantasista/Getty Images He is the captain for a reason... Bayern Munich battled to a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid, but many fans felt like the game represented a lost opportunity because both of the goals from Los Blancos were the product of unacceptable defensive breakdowns from Kim Min-jae. Whether it was a lack of focus, poor positioning, or just faulty decision-making, Min-jae had a rough couple of plays filling in for injured center-back Matthijs de Ligt. Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was not about to let Min-jae be the fall guy, though. “We spoke about it in the dressing room. Mistakes happen, it’s part of football. It doesn’t mean he’ll perform badly in the next games. It wasn’t all bad today either - he played very well in parts today. But in some crucial moments, he perhaps didn’t make the right decisions, which always happens in football,” Neuer told Sport1 (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). Bayern Munich can now focus on putting those mistakes behind it, but fans — and likely many others in the organization — would probably feel a lot better if De Ligt’s recovery moved along quickly. FC Bayern München v Real Madrid: Semi-final First Leg - UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Photo by Harry Langer/DeFodi Images via Getty Images The Bayern Munich executive feels good about things. Bayern Munich executive Max Eberl was among those who felt confident about things after his club earned a hard-fought 2-2 vs. Real Madrid in the Champions League. “It’s a draw at halftime. If we play like we did today in Madrid and perhaps don’t make the two or three mistakes in defense - then why shouldn’t we be able to win there? You can’t afford to make any mistakes against Real Madrid. We dominated them but made mistakes,” Eberl said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). Bayern Munich put in a spirited effort and outplayed Real Madrid for large swaths of the game. That said, Real Madrid did what it always seems they do — find a way to win under tough circumstances. Can Bayern Munich find a way to do the same in Spain?Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s insane 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League? Bayern Munich v Real Madrid - UEFA Champions League Semi-Final Photo by Halil Sagirkaya/Anadolu via Getty Images Can Bayern Munich keep its momentum going? After the enthralling Champions League battle vs. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich must now rebound to face a very good VfB Stuttgart side in the Bundesliga. The Bavarians will want to remain hot with their play and — ironically — it will be one of their own players, Alexander Nübel, trying to stand in the way of Bayern Munich’s efforts to maintain momentum. Austria v Sweden: Group J - UEFA EURO 2024 Qualifying Round Photo by Guenther Iby/SEPA.Media /Getty Images Is Bayern Munich’s next coach on the verge of being hired? In the middle of all of the hype surrounding Bayern Munich’s 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League, stories began to break that the club was on the verge of reaching an agreement with Ralf Rangnick to take over the squad next summer. Sport Bild’s Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) offered this update to the news that broker earlier on Tuesday: Ralf Rangnick has told Bayern that he’s willing to take over this summer. Talks are set to be intensified tomorrow. There are still details left to be clarified. Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer talked openly about Rangnick become the next coach in Bavaria. “He is an excellent connoisseur of the football scene. He has enormous skills in developing players and teams. Everything I hear from those around the Austrian national team is very, very positive,” Hainer told Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg. “If he were to come, he would be a very good choice for us. Hopefully it won’t be delayed for too long. We’ll have to wait and see when we give the final go-ahead. It won’t be too long before we know which direction it’s going in.”Sporting director Christoph Freund also indicated that the rumors of a deal being reached quickly with Rangnick is on the table.“I would not rule that out,” Freund told Bild’s Michel Michel Schröer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). One thing we know will not be happening is an extended stay for Tuchel as CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen made abundantly clear. The executive thinks once the decision was made in the moment, it was — and still is — the correct call. “No. You have to assess the decision at the point in time it was made. It was a different situation. Now we have another situation — our clear goal is to reach the final, then hopefully win the Champions League. We would all be happy together and then we go separate ways,” Dreesen said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). FC Bayern München v Real Madrid: Semi-final First Leg - UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Photo by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Getty Images Who doesn’t like cake? Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich was not happy with the 2-2 draw with Real Madrid, but did like what he saw from his team overall.“I think we were the better team and had the better chances. It’s obviously annoying that we conceded the equalizer through a penalty. We saw that we are more than capable of keeping up, that we have phases where we control the game and create chances. We will be able to do that next week, too. It’s all up for grabs — the winner takes the cake,” Kimmich said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).Kimmich and his mates will be eyeing up a sweet cake when the return leg hits Madrid. If the boys can pull out a victory there, it definitely will be “cake for everybody” during the celebration. Media We made it...we really made it. Bayern Munich and Real Madrid played to a 2-2 draw and veteran Thomas Müller played a key role in helping the Bavarians keep the visitors on their heels for large portions of the match. Afterward, Müller had an extensive interview with CBS Sports Golazo, which shed a lot of light on his feelings on the match (Hint: Müller was not thrilled with the end result): Thomas Müller post-match interview with @CBSSportsGolazo

Media Photo by MICHAELA STACHE/AFP via Getty Images Another performance of the same please! After one hell of a first semi-final leg of the Champions League, which included a comeback from Bayern Munich and a late penalty for Real Madrid just to leave everything open for the second leg in Madrid, every Bayern Munich fan may rightfully feel like they didn’t get everything they deserved from this match. If your name is Konrad Laimer though, and you just finished running the show on the midfield in the Champions League semi-final, you may have another point of view.“It’s only half time,” commented Laimer after the match for @PrimeVideoDE (as captured by @MiaSanMia). “It was an up and down game. We started well, but then didn’t do so well. This is typical Madrid…we know them - they slow the game down and then they’re there when they need to. On the whole I thought we did well. They are all exceptional players. There’s still a lot to play for and we know what we can do”Laimer’s confidence is very much needed and justified after his solid display throughout the first leg of the matchup. The trip to Santiago Bernabeu will definitely be difficult, but if the team can show the same level of performance and straighten out the individual mistakes, the progress to the final of the Champions League doesn’t seem as far as 90 minutes before. What is your opinion of Konrad Laimer’s performance today?
