FC Bayern München v FC Augsburg - Bundesliga Photo by F. Noever/FC Bayern via Getty Images Does Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane have one more adventure in him before returning to England? Madrid could attempt move for Kane (Madrid Universal)At some point, Harry Kane will leave Bayern Munich. Many are targeting 2026 as the time, while others think he will see out his deal and leave in 2027. However, Real Madrid is hoping that it can convince Kane to leave Bayern Munich in 2025: Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a potential move for Bayern Munich’s star forward, Harry Kane, according to a recent update from Fichajes. The English striker, who joined the Bundesliga champions last season, has proven that his goal-scoring prowess remains unmatched. With 20 goals and 9 assists in just 17 matches across all competitions, Kane has been instrumental in leading Bayern’s attack with extraordinary performances.Despite his remarkable start in Germany, Kane’s name is once again being linked with Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are in need of a reliable striker who can fill the void left by Karim Benzema, and Kane appears to be an ideal candidate for this role. At 31 years old, Kane is in peak form, combining clinical finishing with exceptional playmaking abilities—a rare combination that makes him stand out as one of the most complete forwards in the game today.Kane’s immediate impact at Bayern has been felt in both domestic and European competitions. However, his admiration for Spanish football and interest in Real Madrid have reignited discussions about a potential transfer. His ability to perform in high-pressure games and adapt to different systems adds to his appeal for a club like Real Madrid, which prioritises players who can make a difference in crucial moments.Real Madrid have struggled to find a consistent striker since Benzema’s departure, and Kane’s experience and versatility could be the solution they need. While the move is an exciting prospect, it is also fraught with challenges. Bayern Munich consider Kane a vital part of their future, and any potential transfer would come with a significant financial outlay. However, Real Madrid are known for their determination to secure top talent, and they have a history of breaking records to bring in world-class players.Kane was linked to Real Madrid before his eventual move to Bayern Munich, but barring some kind of miraculous change of direction for his career, it seems like the striker will be headed home to England for his next club. Who will it be? When will it be? That is all open at the moment. For now, though, Bayern Munich fans should enjoy what the Englishman is bringing to the table in terms of production. United zeroing in on Gyökeres (ESPN)Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres might be the most sought after player in Europe at the moment — and Manchester United might be poised to take a serious run at him.If the Red Devils fail, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško could be Plan B:Manchester United will provide “big competition” in the race to sign Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres next summer, reports Christian Falk. The Sweden international has been on fire this season, scoring 16 goals in 11 league games to date. Falk reports that United hold a key advantage over other clubs who wish to sign Gyökeres, as incoming manager Rúben Amorim helped the 26-year-old become the most in-demand striker in Europe at Sporting. The Red Devils also retain an interest in RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Šeško, who is expected to change clubs next summer.Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — Bayern Munich 3-0 FC Augsburg (Bundesliga) Bayern Munich likely knew that it was going to be in for a frustrating match and also probably knew that it would have to endure a deep-sitting FC Augsburg side if it wanted to somehow try to pull out a victory. In the end, Bayern Munich would win 3-0, but it was not easy. Here is what we have on tap for the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:A look at the starting XI.A rundown of the scoring and substitutions. What went wrong…

Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich has been an integral figure for both club and country. With Germany surging, the veteran does not want to see things slow down. “Of course it’s our goal to reach the final four (of the UEFA Nations League). It’s part of the path we want to take to be successful in big tournaments, like Spain for example, who have won this competition. For us players we enjoy playing in this competition more than friendlies. We want to compete at a high level, so games against the Netherlands or the upcoming quarterfinals are attractive to watch,” said Kimmich (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “The defeat against Austria last year was an absolute low point. The coaching staff then took a different path. That was important for us to be able to grow and develop. Before that, there were a lot of changes, so it was difficult to identify with wins and losses. The March games against France and the Netherlands changed a lot. We won both games and gained confidence. We had a team spine again and saw that we can keep up with the big nations.”Never one to get enough of time on the pitch, Kimmich is not one of the player’s advocating for a “strike” of some sort — though he does understand why some players might feel like the schedule is too much to handle. “For me personally this is the first season where there will be more games - with two more games in the Champions League, possibly 4 (playoffs) and the Club World Cup in the summer. In England they have more games with more teams in the league, a League cup and no winter break. I personally enjoy playing a lot of games, but I can understand every player that says it’s too much. I think it’s individual for each player,” said Kimmich. Finally, Kimmich was asked about the potential of Leon Goretzka returning to the national team. “The door is certainly not closed to anyone here. But the basis for that is always to deliver good performances. Robin Gosens has also shown that at his club. The best players must be called up. A certain competitive spirit must be there in order to remain successful,” Kimmich said.

Germany v Bosnia and Herzegovina - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty Images Will Leroy Sané re-up with Bayern Munich? Didi Hamann has watched the careers of Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Leroy Sané very closely, but he is unsure of what the future might hold for one of those stars.“Joshua Kimmich won’t leave Bayern Munich, Vincent Kompany has made him a very important player in the middle of the pitch. I’m 99% certain he’ll extend his contract. Leroy Sané hasn’t played very much, he’s frequently injured and with his contract finishing in the summer, I’m not sure what will happen with him. It’s been rumored he wants to go back to England, back to Manchester. But, he’s a risky player to buy because of his injury record,” Hamann told Flashscore.com. “Can Manchester United offer Sané everything he needs? They’re a long way off Manchester City, Arsenal FC or Liverpool FC and Sané is 28 years old, so his next move will be very important. I’m not sure he would want to join a team with little to no chance of winning the Premier League.”While Hamann is not so sure about Sané, it still feels like Bayern Munich will find a way to get a deal done with him. As for Kimmich, interest from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid could make things interesting.

FC Bayern München v VfL Wolfsburg - Bundesliga Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty Images The youngster was being courted by both the Three Lions and the DFB ahead of EURO 2020. Bayern Munich and Germany star Jamal Musiala was the subject of a tug-of-war between the England and Germany men’s national teams over three years ago. Now, former Germany coach Joachim Löw has revealed what went down — and how he helped recruit the young sensation into the fold.“[Former DFB director] Oliver Bierhoff and I went to Munich in spring 2021 and talked to him, and of course also with his mother,” Löw revealed in recent TV appearance (as captured by kicker). “He grew up in England, had friends there and did all his training there. He had already thought about whether he wanted to play for England or Germany. “For the only time in my time as national coach, I made a promise to a player: Although he wasn’t actually a regular player at Bayern, I told him that he would definitely be there for the 2021 European Championship in the summer if he decided to play for us.”Musiala has become so integral to both his club and national team’s success in the years since that it is almost hard to imagine now. But at the time, he was a young substitute — having only just turned 18, and logging just seven starts out of 26 league appearances in the 2020/21 season. The big news that year was the return of veteran Thomas Müller — also Musiala’s mentor at Bayern, and the big star at his position. But Löw evidently knew how important it was for Germany to secure the youngster’s international commitment, and devoted a roster spot just for him at EURO 2020. He barely played — though when he did, made a memorable impact in a crucial final group stage match against Hungary to help secure Germany’s qualification. And from there, he has simply never looked back.

FC Bayern München v Paris Saint-Germain: Round of 16 Second Leg - UEFA Champions League Photo by Sebastian Widmann - UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images PSG have some impressive statistics behind their attacking numbers, will Upa be able to cope? Bayern Munich is set to face Paris Saint Germain in its next Champions League outing. Not only is this a fixture between two top teams, but it’s one that has built up historical significance ever since Bayern edged out PSG to claim the Champions League title in 2020. Overall, Bayern has won the fixture seven times to PSG’s six victories (FBREF).In the build-up to the match, Abendzeitung sports journalist Kilian Kreitmair captured (via @iMiaSanMia) Bayern’s Dayot Upamecano speaking about the tie, saying, “PSG have very good attackers. It will be a very big game.”PSG’s attack as a whole has been exemplary this season, as the team has netted 36 goals in 12 league matches (FotMob). Standout players in the attack include the likes of Bradley Barcola, Marco Asensio, Kang-in Lee, and Ousmane Dembélé. While this collection of players might not seem as threatening as the trio of Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappé, they pack a serious punch. In Ligue 1, Asensio has racked up two goals and four assists; Dembélé five goals and four assists; Lee six goals and one assist; and finally Barcola, the new gem in the PSG crown following the departure of Mbappé, is on 10 goals and two assists.Bayern’s attack has been ruthless this season as well, with just as many goals scored in one fewer league matches (FotMob), but if there’s one thing to have been learned from the Bavarian’s staggering Champions League defeat to FC Barcelona it’s that the strength of the defense will decide big matches.

UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Round of 16 Draw Photo by Kristian Skeie UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images Bayern Munich and PSG will go at it again in the Champions League. In what seems like an annual rite of passage, Bayern Munich will host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. After picking up a win over FC Augsburg on Friday, the Bavarians will now set their sights on PSG — a club that they have become intensely familiar with in recent years. While Kylian Mbappé is no longer with Paris Saint-Germain, the French side is still one of Europe’s top teams and should present a massive challenge to a Bayern Munich squad, who is still looking for a signature victory this season. Bayern Munich will seek to rely upon the staunch defense that it has played of late, plus the potent attack, led by Harry Kane. Join us here on Bavarian Football Works for the full story. FC Bayern München v SL Benfica - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase MD4 Photo by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Getty Images Bayern Munich wants to get its midfielder back... Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha is out for the rest of 2024, but the former Fulham FC star understands the expectations associated with his move to Bavaria. “Bayern wanted to sign me twice, and now it’s up to me to take responsibility for the club, to become a great player for this club. I’m not worried about how much money the club has spent on me or what the expectations are. My focus is on what I can do on the pitch. I’m here now and I’m going to give it my all, in every training session, in every game. That’s what I’ve always done in my career,” Palhinha told FCBayern.com. “When you hear ‘Bayern’, you first have respect. Everyone knows what this name stands for in football. It’s one of the best football clubs in the world, full of power and tradition. Bayern has everything that makes a top club: great players, a history full of titles, passionate fans, top management, a great infrastructure with the Allianz Arena and the Campus. Wearing this shirt is a great responsibility.”Palhinha seems fully invested in his move...now he just has to get healthy. Surely, Bayern munich fans cannot wait to see him back on the pitch.

1. FSV Mainz 05 v FC Bayern München - DFB Cup: Round Two Photo by Ralf Ibing - firo sportphoto/Getty Images The front office is always working... As much as many want to believe it, Bayern Munich executive Max Eberl does not have a regular meeting on the schedule with legend — and alleged Master of Puppets — Uli Hoeneß.“We don’t need to talk about Uli Hoeneß’s life’s work, or even Karl-Heinz Rummenigge’s. It’s clear that the exchange with the supervisory board is intensive; we don’t need to talk on the phone every day and we don’t need a fixed weekly appointment. They give us the strength to make decisions. We would be naive and stupid if we didn’t get advice from them. We all want to be successful, so it’s important that we all think about how we can achieve it and which path we want to take. The exchange is lively, including during the transfer period,” said Eberl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). Eberl knows that the former executives will always be there for discussion if he needs it — and also that the club needs to capture a trophy or two this season to ease the pressure on the squad planners. “The fact that we didn’t win the title last season is a bummer for all of us. It’s up to us to learn the right lessons from it. One question we asked ourselves with regard to squad planning is why we had so many injuries in the past. When I see that Real Madrid got through the season with what felt like 14 or 15 players, it shows that you can manage the full schedule in terms of workload management,” said Eberl.

FC Bayern München v Grashoppers Zürich - Preseason Friendly Photo by Sebastian Widmann/Getty Images Game recognize game Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany may not be utilizing Thomas Müller as much as people would’ve hoped for, but that’s not stopping the one-club man from recognizing the effect Kompany has on the team. “He knows what goes on in a dressing room”, the player began (BR24 as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “As a former captain of Belgium and Manchester City, he brings this experience with him, and he challenges us clearly and specifically. The diligence with which we’re working off the ball is being rewarded - with more possession, control and fun of the game.”As exemplified by the Bavarians’ latest outing against Augsburg, the former had to play the waiting game for the most part as the latter focused on committing all outfield players to sit back in their own half to try and scrap a draw. Bayern pushed and pushed, and they were rewarded with a 3-0 win courtesy of Harry Kane’s hat-trick.Kompany’s men are yet to have a ”statement game” against half-decent teams, but he still has chances to do so.

Germany v Bosnia and Herzegovina - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Sebastian Widmann - UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images Musiala might as well have done that anyway Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz are leading Germany’s next (and current) generation of footballers, and both play for some of the most well-known clubs in the Bundesliga at Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. There have been rumblings that Musiala is whispering in Wirtz’s ear to come join him down south, but as usual won’t give anything away.Jamal Musiala on whether he spoke to Florian Wirtz about a potential move to Bayern: I don’t want to put pressure or give feedback about that. It’s always his own decision and he has to know for himself.– As captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMiaIf Wirtz were to stay in Germany, Bayern is the only team he can go to. Otherwise, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are waiting for him. Should Bayern push through with Project Wirtz, they would need to offload several big earners which is the Bavarians’ long-term goal. While you’re here, check out our Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show for Bayern Munich vs. FC Augsburg on Patreon, Spotify, or below:Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany.
