To our users on iOS 16
We know at least one major issue with FBReader on iOS 16: the selection menu does not appear, so you cannot copy the text or make a bookmark. There is no workaround, sorry.
We prepared an update that fixes the problem, but we currently experience issues with the App Store review. We are working to manage this as soon as possible.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

4.5 months later, we reached milestone #2. Since the release 2.0beta15, FBReader is not just a reader. It becomes a powerful network catalogues browser. Delivered with four built-in catalogues (two in English, two in Russian), the app allows adding your preferred OPDS sources. Other features include the navigation history, network search, and bookmarking. And, of course, downloading/purchasing the books.
The catalogues browser still needs some polishing, and your bug reports are very welcome.

Читать полностью…3.1 beta 25 is the first release of FBReader Premium that is available for download from our site. It is also uploaded to the Google Play store as usual.
If both Google Play Services and Huawei AppGallery are not installed on your device
OR
if your device is an Onyx e-ink reader,
you can run the beta for free. On other devices, you are prompted to buy the license. Currently only available on Google Play.
The changes include Polish LitRes ebook store (https://litres.pl) integration, and experimental Onyx devices support.
FBReader for Android 3.0.26 and 3.1 beta 23 uploaded to the Google Play. The release fixes keeping of current book between runs. Both free and Premium versions are updated.
Starting from this update, the betas are available only for devices with Android 4.2 and higher (earlier version were available for 4.1 as well).
New FBReader Premium (for Android) distribution strategy coming soon.
Currently, the only legal way to get the Premium is to buy and download it from the Google Play. This makes Premium unavailable for devices with no Google Play.
The new scheme makes the app available from three sources.
a) Google Play (for a fee)
b) Huawei App Gallery (for a fee)
c) https://fbreader.org site (the package would be downloadable for free)
If your Android includes Google Services, and does not include App Gallery, you have to pay via Google Play to run Premium. Vice versa, if the device has App Gallery only, you have to pay via the Huawei store. If both are installed, you can select. Finally, if your device misses both, you can run the Premium for free.
The bad news is that if you have paid via Google Play, and switched to a pure Huawei device, you have to pay again.
We reserve the right to add more stores to this scheme in the future.
