این رمان ماجرایی است که در چهار شب اتفاق میفتد.در شب اول مرد رویاپرداز ، با دختری که در حال گریستن است به نام ناستنکا آشنا میشود.با اینکه دختر به مرد دیگری علاقه دارد، آنها چهار شب را به گفتگو و شناخت یکدیگر میگذرانند.هرچه مرد رویاپرداز با دختر آشناتر میشود، تنهایی‌اش از او بیشتر فاصله میگیرد.
آشنایی با دختر اولین ارتباط انسانی مرد با فردی دیگر است.اولین دیدار آنها به مکالمه‌ای طولانی منجر میشود.مرد جوان زندگی‌اش را برای دختر تعریف میکند و میگوید که کل زندگی‌اش را در رویا سپری کرده است. به ویژه رویای آشنایی با زنی ایده‌آل.شب بعد هر دو داستان زندگی خودشان را تعریف میکنند و این دیدارها تا چهار شب ادامه پیدا میکند.»

Mystery plays

Mystery plays and miracle plays (theyare distinguished as two different forms although the terms are often used interchangeably )are among the earliest formally developed plays in medieval Europe.Medieval mystery plays focused on the representation of Bible stories in churches as tableaux with accompanying antiphonal song.They told of subjects such as the Creation,Adam and Eve,the murder of Abel,and the Last Judgement.Often they were performed together in cycles which could last for days.The name derives from mystery used in its sense of miracle,but an occasionally quoted derivation is from ministerium,meaning craft,and so the 'mysteries' or plays performed by the craft guilds.As early as the fifth century living tableaux were introduced into sacred services.The plays originated as simple tropes,verbal embellishments of liturgical texts,and slowly became more elaborate.At an early period chants from the service of the day were added to the prose dialogue.As these liturgical dramas increased in popularity,vernacular forms emerged,as travelling companies of actors and theatrical productions organized by local communities became more common in the later Middle Ages.

TheQuem quaeritis is the best known early form of the dramas,a dramatised liturgical dialogue between the angel at the tomb of Christ and the women who are seeking his body.[6]These primitive forms were later elaborated with dialogue and dramatic action.Eventually the dramas moved from church to the exterior - the churchyard and the public marketplace.These early performances were given in Latin,and were preceded by a vernacular prologue spoken by a herald who gave a synopsis of the events.The writers and directors of the earliest plays,were probably monks.Religious drama flourished from about the ninth century to the sixteenth.

#Lyrical_Ballads

Lyrical Ballads, with a Few Other Poems is a collection of poems by William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, first published in 1798 and generally considered to have marked the beginning of the English Romantic movement in literature. The immediate effect on critics was modest, but it became and remains a landmark, changing the course of English literature and poetry. The 1800 edition is famous for the Preface to the Lyrical Ballads, something that has come to be known as the manifesto of Romanticism.

Most of the poems in the 1798 edition were written by Wordsworth, with Coleridge contributing only four poems to the collection (although these made about a third of the book in length), including one of his most famous works, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

A second edition was published in 1800, in which Wordsworth included additional poems and a preface detailing the pair's avowed poetical principles. For another edition, published in 1802, Wordsworth added an appendix titled Poetic Diction in which he expanded the ideas set forth in the preface. A third edition was published in 1802, with substantial additions made to its "Preface," and a fourth edition was published in 1805.
