Present Simple vs Present Continuous

In English class, we learn the rules,
Of present simple, no need for jewels.
It's easy-peasy, just follow along,
And you'll be speaking without a wrong.

I wake up early, each and every day,
Simple present, in a clear array.
I eat my breakfast, and then I play,
Simple actions, come what may.

But wait, there's more, another tense,
Present continuous, it's not as dense.
I am writing, this very rhyme,
Continuous action, in real-time.

I am singing, a joyful song,
Continuous actions, keep me strong.
But don't mix them up, it's quite a fuss,
Simple or continuous? Don't make a muss!

So study hard, and practice right,
Mastering grammar, takes some might.
But with this poem, I hope you see,
Learning English can be as fun as can be!
